My appointment went well. Then I had blood work. I go back on October 3rd for the first ultrasound. I have to decide if I want to do pre-screening. Especially because I will be AMA at the time of birth. Yay for a good appointment! Pre-screening tests definitely gave me peace of mind. And the bonus is you get to learn the sex early! We're still discussing (arguing over) whether we want to know the sex. I want to be surprised but H does not. I also have no will power and want to know everything RIGHT NOW so we shall see!

I have absolutely no willpower with these things and like all the info now!

Betweenthelines the almond joy overnight oats are my fave. H pointed out that it's because there is chocolate in it and they're not really healthy...so I just glare at him while I eat my dessert oats. Peaches and cream are my second favorite. IMO they're healthy if there are only a few dark chocolate morsels in it. So your H can go scratch himself.

Yeah for a good appointment Pizzaslut! Don't let AMA trip you up. For me all it meant was I got the early screening and I had my ultrasounds at a perinatologist, which actually meant better quality than at my OB

I would never ever be able to be team green. Even though everything we bought in the beginning was gender neutral anyways. I still just need to know all the things.

Also, team green is awesome! So, this makes me wonder... do the parents that you are going to be a surrogate for want to know?? If they want to know, will you want to remain team green and just filter the info to them without finding out yourself? Curious, party of 1 here. You can tell me to mind my own. :-)

We are experiencing summer like heat for the last week and a bit. Its really throwing a wrench into my cute fall outfits AND dripping in sweat during all of lectures so far today has not been a cute look.

Pizzaslut Is the pre-screening covered by your insurance? If it were me, the scientist in me makes me want allllll the data I can get

45thparallel We went from some pretty nice fall temperatures to Summer this week as well. In a way, I miss the fall temperatures, but I've enjoyed not having to fight to get K into pants this week!

Pizzaslut Is the pre-screening covered by your insurance? If it were me, the scientist in me makes me want allllll the data I can get I think so. They will double check before they push it through. The one my OB suggested is the one that will test the blood for down syndrome and Tri 18 and Tri 21. There is also one that will screen me for the genes for cystic fibrosis and two other things I cannot remember. It's too much to remember.

Help!!'
I want to come up with a fun nonfood gift we can give our moms/kids at or fall open house next month. We only want to spend a couple bucks. Last year we did little pumpkins. So I don't want to do that. Ideas??? I meet with my board tonight
ETA: its basically a Halloween party's. But we can't call it that.

I agree that team green is fun. Once you decide to go that route you really aren't tempted

jedi you can also get mini halloween themed play dough. For my research, this or stickers are a HUGE hit with the kid participants.

I'm also thinking of suggesting that we just have moms bring a treat to share and suggest that it be nonfood but not have to be that. We have lots of allergies or sensitivities. Lots of people who don't want to feed their kids candy. Etc. I just would prefer to do a bunch of stuff from oriential trading

Remember the mom that gasped loudly when I mentioned I eat tofu (because soy is bad) and judged me for feeding my kids ice cream. She is in the club and on the board

Try subbing cacao nibs for the chocolate. No sugar and a "nutritional powerhouse" ingredient but it satisfies in smoothies, overnight oats, etc the same way dark chocolate chips do.
