That was me at work yesterday. I've been finishing my work really early this week. Fx I can get extra claims so the afternoon doesn't drag.

so st. croix, virgin islands is getting hammered by hurricane maria right now. this makes me really sad - for those of you who don't know, i lived there in my 30's. that island holds a soft spot in my heart. this hurricane can kill it. i hope everyone there stays as safe as they can.

I'm happy I'm home and not needing to drive.
I shared everything that's going on with s1 with my mom when we had a moment. (I posted more things that are happening in yesterday's Thread have since poofed) Rather than comfort me she decided to say "I was worried about him going to that school but i didn't want to tell you that". I love my mom and I know I mostly vent about her but wtf to that comment? EVERY SINGLE THING that has happened could have happened at a regular kinder class. Him being in a Spanish school isn't making these issues happen. Fuck I already feel like crap. Don't make it worse by saying stuff like that. Of course I didn't think to say something at the time other than this could be happening at any school.

jedi, don't be too hard on yourself. When S1 is fluently speaking spanish and english, your mom will also most likely make a comment along the lines of, i knew it would hard for him but i also knew he would do great at it....or i always thought it was a great idea to put him there..... it seems at times we can never win with our parents. you just keep doing what you think is best for YOUR kids. Remember, you had reasons why you thought this was a good idea.

I'm sorry jedi. It's sad that I is dealing with this stuff but you're right it could've happened at any school. And from your post last night it seems like the school is aware and taking quick action, which is great. I hope things get better for him quickly.

FYI if you missed. Short version. S1 is being physically harmed by another student. Clearly he's not super bothered by it because he hasn't talked much about it to me. Sometime in passing sorta and the way he told the story it was hard to know if he was being truthful or telling stories. He's got an active imagination. There are steps in place to help support the kid that is essentially being a bully and steps to keep students safe. It still stresses me out though. I don't really want to call this kid a bully. I think he's having a hard time expressing his emotions and is takin his frustration out in the from of Aggression. Sadly, it's making s1 want to retaliate(which his teacher said She understands. That it can be a natural response for s1 or any 5 yr old).
I feel like everything that has happened in be last week comes back to two things. 1. This kid. And 2. The normal typical adjustment to kindergarten.

RunsforWineandCarbs you are right. Definitely. It's just been so hard and I've had no one really irl to vent to or talk to. I just needed her to listen and be supportive. After I did say that it could happen anywhere she said she just doesn't like hearing him being harmed. I get that too. But I have been the "bad parent" and I am sure his parents feel like crap.

I'm sorry for everything going on with S1 and your mom's lack of support jedi. Relationships with moms can be so hard. It sounds like you and the school are doing everything you can to support S1 though.

Pizzaslut FX for a great appointment! jedi I'm so sorry for your son going through that. I hope that things resolve quickly. Your mom seems incredibly unsupportive and critical.

Taking DD to school soon, then I think DS and I will go for a walk. Picnic and a playdate after school, and soccer for DD this evening.
I had a midwife appointment yesterday and was told that baby boy hasn't dropped at all, and to not expect him anytime soon. I'm feeling this pregnancy so much more than my others, and already have so much pressure. Not sure how I'll function when he finally does drop. After DS was over a week overdue, I shouldn't be surprised if this one follows his lead, I guess. Still a couple weeks, so we'll see what happens.

jedi, I'm really close with my mom but she has a knack for saying things that sound so critical. I know she doesn't mean it, but it still stings.

Good luck today Pizzaslut ! jedi I'm so sorry your going through this with S1. Having a mother who isn't saying helpful things certainly isn't the support you need. Hugs!

Morning! Add me to the tired club. Jake was up from 3:10-3:30. We let him CIO. I know a day is coming where we'll have to stop doing that but for now we just watch him on the monitor and make sure he's safe. If we get him he's up for the day. He's called back asleep after getting him maybe once or twice so 99.9% of the time he's up. I just can't start my day at 3am.
