Accepting I still have 2 weeks left (kind of), I'm eating dates and bouncing on my ball. What other fun activities are you partaking in to make labor progress?
Ironic given I spent 9 months praying for this little one to stay put....

Hah! I was thinking about a thread like this while I was forcing myself to drink red raspberry tea this morning while I did squats. I'm highly considering going to buy a bouncy ball to bounce on. My SIL texted me and swore by this raspberry tea so I amazon'd some on Sunday. Nothing like drinking hot tea in the summertime. Im also planning on forcing myself to have sex with DH tomorrow or tonight. Because that's the only damn thing my Dr said could actually work.
And then I feel a little guilty for trying to get him out- yay pgal brain.

Dates could work too? Those I can actually get at the local grocery store LOL, as opposed to having to order like the red raspberry tea (and pay like 15bucks shipping for a pack of tea??) for instance. And I think I could stomach them, too...
Other things I've read/been told that could work is eating black licorice (nom, also not a problem as I love black licorice, except I worry how it may influence my already borderline high BP heh), doing squats (though I don't dare do those cause of my diastasis), sex, nipple stimulation/pumping and walking (if only I hadn't broken my ankle that is still making long walks difficult grrr).
I told MH about the sex thing but he didn't seem inclined to help me out there LOL thinks it too weird with baby being this big and in the way now:P

The first months we were too scared to fuck something up *no pun intended lol* then around 20wks we did it once but I honestly think he's been worried it somehow would mess with the baby or my ute or such so there's been no repeat. I do think know he's looking forward to being intimate again once baby is born (and so am I). Which in turn freaks me out a bit cause well yeah, after having given birth I'm not sure how soon I will feel up to action down there again?!!?

addymac, I caved in and ordered the red raspberry leaf tea even though the shipping charges were crazy. Should arrive tomorrow I hope. I should have just gone ahead and ordered it last week, maybe then it would have actually done something already by now

My water broke at 38 weeks 4 days, but I didn't actually go into labor until they gave me pitocin at the hospital. So I'm not really sure if the tea did anything. I was just so uncomfortable...I was like - I will try anything!

I did it all: raspberry tea, bouncing on the ball, foot reflexology massage, walking, spicy food, driving down bumpy roads (um, yea), etc....
Baby girl refused to move. She never even dropped. I eventually had to be induced a week after my due date.

I made three rounds thru the grocerystore looking for dates but they were no where to be found!?? Grrr. By then a lot of other not so healthy stuff made into my basket (yum muffins yum whipped cream and a huge bag of black licorice yumyum) so I decided to check out and go back home lol lest I buy the rest of the cookie and candy department.. 😊

I did walking, sex, RRL tea, spicy food, as large of a meal as I could fit in my stomach, nipple stimulation (which apparently you're supposed to be careful about doing), and squats. They did nothing.
I ended up having light contractions 10+ minutes apart on the way to an OB appointment at 40+4. She did a membrane sweep and I ended up at the hospital that evening.

I will say that after living in Southeast Asia (where most local food is spicy), I have become convinced that spicy food doesn't bring on labor. If it did, none of the ladies here would get to term!

I wonder if it's not really the spicy food that does it, but more so a woman's body's reaction to the spicy food if she doesn't usually eat it.

I have definitely accidentally eaten my fair share of food that was too spicy for me (during this pregnancy and my pregnancy with DS), and didn't experience any contractions or issues...however, maybe my body was already used to some type of spicy baseline? Here - even if you tell them "no spicy" - sometimes it still comes out really hot! (Oh - they only used 2 chilis instead of 8?...thanks.... 😭😅)

For Lexi, I did lots and lots of squats and walking. The day before I went into labor (anecdotally), I felt fucking amazing. So that morning, MH and I had sex, and then we went to a car lot, walked a lot, went to a mall, bought some baby books at B&N, etc. So I don't know if boning and all that walking had anything to do with it, but it's maybe worth a shot. LOL

My red raspberry leaf tea should arrive this afternoon. Luckily the weather is crap so at least it won't be so bad drinking it hot. I can't stomach iced/cold tea heh. Now I'm just curious as to what it'll taste like?!

Hoped it meant labor was eminent but so far nothing .. and I have to say that today I'm really feeling completely pooped from having done so much these previous days LOL.

I didn't think it had a super strong flavor at all.

I'm going to the local hippie store today to hunt down some RRL tea. We had about an hour last night where we thought it was Go Time, and then contractions just... stopped. Of course DH was not pleased because his List is still far from finished. Better get going, bro.

Target sells RRL tea bags. Or at least mine does. It's Traditional Medicinals brand and is in with all the other tea.

We're in BFE and have the shit versions of everything. Ohhh what I would give for a Super Target... But I'm sure between the hippie store and the local grocery, I'll find something here.

So, i'm 3cm dilated and 90% effaced - quite the change from completely closed last week!!! only big thing that was difference was I started drinking the RRL Tea this week - and I had a shit night at work where I was on my feet for several hours nonstop and had crazy BH all morning but i didn't think they were doing anything because they weren't painful... but i guess *something* happened! So now, to decide if I should be induced or just let nature take it's course...
