I mean, it's possible Meghan said it in a completely bitchy way and Kate was justified in being hurt. Doesn't excuse the rest, in any way. I don't think we need to stretch ourselves to absolve how it probably went. Meghan isn't a saint. She was under pressure. We all have moments. I think we are all saying that though. At least I for sure am. Ok. I'm just saying we have four unreliable narrators. |

Harry is also saying Will and Kate told him to wear the Nazi costume I see it. Harry you still wore it though so…. IIRC, Will was also in a not great costume at this same party and Harry was the one leaked to prevent Will's photo from being leaked. I want to say Will was in blackface, but I am not positive. Either way, Harry made the choice and he has to face the consequences. I'm glad he learned from it, but apologizing is only the first step. |

I wonder who leaked the pages The majority of those being tasked with keeping the embargo as retail employees making minimum wage. I can't really blame someone for taking the risk with something that will be public in a matter of days. I'd feel differently if they were leaking something private that they stole or had access too. My copy is sitting at my local bookstore right now, waiting to be released for pick-up. |

I mean, it's pretty common for the publisher/author to leak to drum up excitement.
I doubt this was a surprise or anything.

There have been stories over the years that he has a temper, that he and Kate have had screaming matches where they can be heard on international trips, etc. I think that’s why people overall are believing the story as Harry tells it- you see some people saying Harry deserved it (which wtf?!) but there aren’t really many I’ve seen saying Harry is fabricating the story. I sincerely doubt that "keep all the receipts" Meghan, would be okay with Harry fabricating a story of this level in his book. They may have differing opinions of the intensity or seriousness of the altercation, but I have no doubt it happened. It's been interesting to see excerpts posted from other books that refer to Will's temper. I have never read any of them, but Camilla in particular has said a lot about Will's temper over the years. It's a prime example of the differing rules that privileged, white, men have in society. |

I always thought it had something to do with Kate being pregnant/giving birth - not in a bad way, in a "hormonal rollercoaster" kind of way. Shit, I cry at random stuff when I get my period. I know Meghan never talked about it, said Kate apologized, and moved on. I really think Meghan wanted to put it behind them. Yes and here is Harry bringing it up. didn’t someone get flowers. I honestly think of it as one of those things women say before they have kids that I would just you wait them on despite hating the just you wait but still it’s not cool Yes, she said that Kate sent her flowers and a note to apologize. You know Meghan has that and could have released it. Instead she accepted the apology and won't elaborate on what occurred. This feels extra wrong to me that they allowed the false story of Meghan being the villain to flourish given what we know now about it. |

I could be - but I’m thinking people were probably dressed in “native” costumes and colonizing was celebrated? None of the three of them should have been there in any costume. I’m going to focus on this because I just can’t with the virginity story. Oh Harold. |

What I'm getting from all this is that, at their core, the ruling classes have really poor boundaries. ETA: Like I'm a spiteful bird, but I would literally roll in cut glass before begging my dad not to marry his mistress. Because I'm too proud to beg.  They are surprisingly trashy. In the You're Wrong About podcast, they talked about how when Diana's dad died, she and her siblings made his wife move out immediately, with her belongings in trash bags. 😳 Trash, but it's gilded. |

Mine married his mistress. I had no say in the matter. To this day both my mom and step dad say they were not together before my dad passed but I don’t believe it. My dad knew there was someone else at the end and she moved on very quickly (not saying there is a timeline on grief and she can’t move on) but yeah. ❤️❤️❤️ This woman is the one who made sure we were excluded from the narrative at his funeral because it didn't fit with the "true love" story they were selling in the photos and eulogy. Royals have dysfunctional families, just like us! |

I really hate the narrative that people who are abused (physically, emotionally, mentally) and don't "fight back" are at fault for their abuse. It's gross and disgusting. The cycle of abuse is well documented and leaving isn't simple. Nor is the problem solved if you just "stand up for yourself" or refuse to "take it". Power dynamics and isolation are huge factors here.
