I would also just like to note that I'm sitting here immensely enjoying a pedicure after a spin class. I should do this every week. 😏

Hi thechickencoop !!!! I'm due in 18 days That article made me laugh and now And I'm really happy with my decision to decline the cervic check at my last appointment. I met a new male doc , I didn't shave my legs and it was like hey I just met you I don't want your fingers in my vagina... So, let me ask, when do they start trying to do cervical checks? When I was KU with DS we started twice weekly MFM appts at like 29 weeks and pretty much skipped all of the normal every other and weekly OB checks. This is all kind of new to me this time around! I would hope that they'll be ok if i decline checks though. It was AWFUL with DS when they had to insert the cervadil and then cervical check in labor (i never had ANY before!) so I can't imagine it would be any easier at any point before then.

My OB just asked me at 38 weeks if I wanted one and I waited until the next appointment to do so. I don't think she'd cared either way if I wanted to do it or not. It was more for my curiosity. But yes, painful. 😝

I have had none. Friday was the first time offered. I'm 37 weeks. Can't remember if I mentioned that. It just sounds like no fun and not actually helpful ? So far I've had one check- when they did the gbs swab at my 36w appt. For my 37w he said eh we will check next week since you were so high up and closed last time (and holy hell that one hurt so much). So I'll get checked at 38w and then idk maybe at 39 again? Maybe we will alternate, idk.

So.. if babygirl failed her kickcounts these past 5 hours (and had been awfully quiet all day - which prompted the kickcounts - she was way less busy yesterday already as well after several real active days) but now finally passed.. does that mean I can stop worrying for now?? Her hr was fine during the day.. i just don't know.. MH and I both feel sorta stuck between wanting to not worry and not being able to do just that! Okay that was weird English..

How pregnant are you? Baby slows down toward the end of 3rd tri. Less room, all that jazz.

The movements slow down a lot later in 3rd tri. If she's moving around now, I'd say it's ok. But it never hurts to get checked out if it'll make you feel better. You have to trust your instincts on these things.

So good, sadly my lactose intolerance did not go away this pregnancy like it did with my first.

I love frozen custard. I'm glad they have a high turn over of teenagers working there, because I've been going there an embarrassingly amount of times.

@easilyunamused, grumpycat, I'm 37w3d today. Funnily enough my MFM and OB don't agree with the "baby slows down in the 3rd trimester". That is, yes baby starts running out of room, so movement will be different but baby should still be moving around as /muchften/regularly as before. And I've definitely noticed a difference in how her kicks and movements feel. Less jabby and stabby but more like she's moving half my tummy along with her heh. Up until Friday she's kept her usual pattern and like Thursday and Friday she was extra active (which was both cute as a little annoying at times LOL) then yesterday had a quiet day. I've been telling myself lately that perhaps the busy days are special and her quiet days are more the normal ones - to keep my anxiety at bay - but 2 quiet days with very little movement just makes me anxious! Especially after the scares we had at 33-34 weeks and with my AFI. But, she done her best this past hour and half to reassure me some, so I'm going to bed feeling a little less crazy - and hopefully she continues to behave normally tomorrow. If not, I'll definitely be calling!

If not, I'll definitely be calling! My OB also agreed that movement should not slow down. Yes, types of movement change like you said, but it shouldn't slow down. I always found if DS had a busy day one day, the next day would be more quiet. But even on quiet days, after some juice or an apple he'd move around enough for it to be ok. While most of the time everything is ok, and it sounds like they are since baby is kicking up a storm now, decreased movement isn't something to play around with. If your dr is like mine, the first thing they will suggest is to drink a big glass of juice or cold water, lay on your left side, and count kicks for an hour or two. If you get your kicks, you go on with your day. If you don't, you call back. I guarantee you a dr office would rather you call over nothing, than take a chance. I'm sure all is good since she's giving you lots of movement now, but never hesitate to call if you're worried. That's what they're there for.

My first cervical check was at my ~38 week appointment. I wanted to know where I was at so I didn't even try to decline it. I didn't think it was too bad. The one that was uncomfortable was when she did a membrane sweep along with the cervical check at my 40+5 appointment.

I would call just to be on the safe side...you never know with decreased movement in 3rd tri. I have a high risk pregnancy history and tend to error on the side of caution. If your mom instinct says something might be off - trust it.
