I'm in the 3rd episode. I'm not sure I like the guy who plays Pike. I do like Rebecca Romijn. It's just weird. In this, Spock is already on the Enterprise, seemingly older but by a lot (not just a year or two). Uhura is a cadet on this, and Sam Kirk is on the Enterprise, Captain Kirk's older brother!?! I'm so confused.

I’m watching! OMG I had no idea that was Rebecca Romijn until you said it! I like her character, although it annoys me that she seems to have no name (they just call her Number 1 which is so weird). I liked Capt Pike on Discovery, but not as much here yet. I feel like the show is still figuring itself out. I hated Spock at first on Discovery too, but he grew on me. The timeline also confuses me. I’m a big Star Trek fan from watching TNG as a kid, but I never watched the original series so the references don’t make sense to me. We subscribed to Paramount+ fro Picard and Discovery and we’re hooked on it.
If you haven’t watched Lower Decks yet, I *highly* recommend it. It was so funny, I can’t wait for season 3. But you probably need to have seen other Star Trek series for all the jokes to make sense.

Pike calls all the first in command Number one. He called the Lan number one when she boarded too. Edit: I have seen Lower decks, I need to finish season 2 but got distracted with other things. I love it, and I don't usually like that humor. |
