athn64 That is a good point about the gods being different for various mythologies. I didn't think about that. Also are we the only two that finished it? lol. It certainly was a heavy series and very different. So far, maybe? It's possible others haven't had time, and will come to discuss with us soon.

I watched too. Really liked it, especially the last episode. Oscar Isaac is fantastic. Can really see them all as their own personalities.

We are going to watch the last episode tonight. We wanted to last night, but I had been low on sleep for days, so I only made it through 2 episodes.

I just finished it too and really liked it.
I read that Zeus is in the next Thor movie and the bad guy is a “god killer” so I’m interested to see if there will be any tie in with the Moon Knight/Egyptian pantheon. Or if MK is just it’s own thing.

I enjoyed this as a finale. I am still a little confused, I think, lol. Am I correct that the entire timeline was reality as far as the gods, the fighting, etc, and that everything that happened in the "asylum" places were just in his head? Anyway. My H had the same comment about smashing all the gods, haha. And then are we to assume that Ethan Hawke is put into a facility because he was left for dead, and now the Jake personality is going to kill him? I think Khonshu can't personally kill him and since Marc/Stephen declined to, they put him in a facility. But Jake is a little less inclined to mercy. I'm thinking all the Marc/Stephen asylum bits were in his head, but like with the Buffy episode, you're supposed to be left open to interpretation about what's "real", etc. Also, I find it interesting that the Egyptian pantheon are actually gods and the Norse/Greek/Roman ones are more aliens/Eternals. Like sure they are immortal/long lived, but the Egyptian ones seem to be actual gods with actual god responsibilities and avatars. I wonder how the other pantheons might work out. Do you you read Rick Riordan? He goes over the differences in the Kane Chronicles series (soon to be on Netflix). He also has a cross over with Percy Jackson but they never explain the differences. In the Kane chronicles, Pharaohs and their family were the only ones who could be a god’s avatar. Which if they used that in this series could be interesting. Which is why they choose who they choose

I finished and loved it!
I think Stephen had his own soul because of the split personality. It split all the way.
My heart is broken about their mom!! Just how awful.

I finished it. I loved it. Oscar Isaac is a genius. I didn’t notice myself but someone told me they changed the info of the last episode from “series finale” to “season finale” which means they may make another season of the show.

Especially with Jake out in the open now. There's bound to be some conflict with Marc and Steven.

I like that this show showed the Egyptian god mythology because I really only knew of the Norse and Greek ones back in school. Very interesting. I never knew anything about the concept of avatars for gods. I am glad that they may make another season!

That was my most favorite finale of the D+ shows. I think I say that about all of them though but this time it’s for real. Tbh im all in on Oscar Isaac now. His performance was phenomenal. I am patiently waiting for them to announce a season 2 or a MK movie.

I really liked how they showed DID and how childhood trauma can trigger it. I am by no means an expert, but have watched lots of yourube videos and have a coworker with DID, so it was interesting to see that aspect.
Also, Layla is a badass and I hope she sticks around.

I also feel like they did a great job humanizing it! Also, that one personality can have a different accent. My brain is like, 🤯 on that! But also, how scary it can be that one personality can "wake up" and not remember a darn thing. 😳 I couldn't imagine living that way. I am going to need someone to break down the fish thing!?!

Some of the videos I have watched have talked about how when an identity “moves back” and another is in “front”, the other identities sort of live in a space with the others. Some say they each have rooms or even houses. I am sure it’s not the same for everyone, and I have seen some videos where they say it really is like this, they just “wake up”. I don’t want to call DID fascinating, because it is a very serious disorder and can cause havoc on their lives, but it is interesting. My coworker lives with it pretty well, but I have never gone into specifics with him about it because he is still figuring it out himself. But I have told him I am willing to talk and be a sounding board for him if he needs it.

Oscar is brilliant, and you could tell even in his eyes, when he was Steven vs. Marc throughout. Each one has a life, and whomever comes forward may or may not know what to do with that life. Having so few examples of DID, and with them usually being the "bad guy" in shows, I feel like they did a great job show it's complexity and how it can wreak havoc on their lives. I'm glad you're being there for your coworker.

If anyone wants a "lighter" version of DID with excellent acting, you should watch United States of Tara. Toni Collette is a treasure and she is SO good at being multiple people. It might not be the most accurate depiction of DID all the time because it is also a comedy, but it is such a good show.
Bonus is you get to see baby Captain Marvel aka Brie Larson when she was just getting her big break.

I'm glad you're being there for your coworker. It’s a lot like Willam DeFoe in the Spider-man movies. While he is playing the villain there, he plays those little minute changes so well, so you can pick ip “who” he is if you are paying attention. Oscar is doing the same masterfully.

I just watched the behind-the-scenes doc on Moon Knight and it’s fascinating to hear how Oscar Isaac did it. They’d try to only film one of the characters in a day. And in the scenes with both Steven and Marc, Oscar’s brother was the stand-in for whichever one he wasn’t filming as. So cool.

I'm late to the game, but I *finally* watched Moon Knight. I had never heard of the character and somehow the trailers/previews didn't look that great to me. I ran out of other stuff to watch, so I figured why not, maybe I should in case it ties into other Marvel stuff I love. OMG I FUCKING LOVED IT!!!! It was so not what I was expecting. I felt like I was finally catching on in episode 4, and then it took the turn into the mental hospital and a giant talking hippo showed up, I was so confused and skeptical. But wow, episode 5 was a rollercoaster of emotions, I cried at Marc's backstory and bawled when Stephen was lost. I loved the finale, so glad Marc came back, cried again when they reunited, and I love, love, loved them both fighting together and switching back and forth during the battle. Also I *LOVED* Layla becoming a kickass avatar!!! She's a badass and it was perfect! The after credits scene confirmed what I knew, that there was a 3rd personality in there and I'm really hoping it gets a second season because now I'm obsessed.
I was so excited for Multiverse of Madness but I was disappointed (didn't love it), I've heard Love and Thunder isn't great (waiting to stream it in a few days), but I had no idea what I was getting into with Moon Knight and it is my new favorite show. Oscar Isaac is amazing, he brought so much life and believability to each personality. I'm going to watch the behind the scenes doc tonight. I'm sad there is no more until hopefully a second season, but I'm sure that's going to be a long wait.
