Oh STP, I am so so sorry! I’m sending all the prayers and good vibes Bagel’s way. ExH and I had a puppy when we first got out of college that was parvo positive. We caught it early, and paid for the treatment, and Chief lived a long very healthy life with exILs.

Chiming in with another parvo pup story. We had a parvo positive puppy who had no long term health problems and lived a full life. Hoping for the same for your sweet puppy.

Our 4 year old pain in the ass beagle mix is a parvo survivor. We picked him up as a puppy and then found out that a littermate had parvo. We ended up bringing him back to the rescue and they took care of him since it was literally within hours of us adopting him that this happened. It was touch and go for a couple of days, but he pulled through and is now forever a thorn in our side! Here’s a pic of him yelling at me because that’s what he does lol. ETA and he has no lifelong effects from the parvo I hope your pup stays healthy!

Abby's littermate had parvo and survived with no lasting issues. They both turn 3 at the end of this month.

I also just read that survival rate with treatment (fluids/antibiotics) is 90% and higher if caught early.
You've got this.

I’m so sorry STP. I hope lil Bagel pulls through with no ill effects. In grad school, one of my closest friends fostered two puppies that ended up having parvo. They were both very sick, but pulled through. Another friend adopted the girl pup and she is still going strong and running circles around them 10 years later.

Oh, STP. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. The good news is that you caught it early and are getting treatment before she got super dehydrated. Poor pup. sudsy, you’re good people, friend.

Working in a shelter I saw many dogs come in with parvo. The majority made it through with no issues. The few that didn’t were brought in already quite sick or too young (under 3mos). I’m so sorry this is happening to you. Is the breeder covering treatment?

Oh man. I'm so sorry. The fact that they're doing outpatient treatments is a great sign though! I hope B had a quick recovery.

Oh cripes, that’s scary. I’m keeping her in my thoughts. I had to look into virtual vets recently, but we were able to get in sooner with our own vet due to a cancellation. Maybe a last resort option to get the follow up care? Hugs and love.

My brother has a now 13 year old Maltipoo that was a parvo puppy. She has been an amazing dog and thinks my brother hung the moon.

My Scout was 8wks when we got her and already recovered, so it’s definitely possible for them to survive young.

One of my mom’s dogs had parvo as a very young pup, before she got her. She pulled through with no lasting health issues that we’ve seen seven years later! I’m so sorry, sending all the vibes her way ❤️

STP, of course. She's already your baby, and helping her get well is all that counts. I was just thinking of the contract I signed with my shelter kitties and there were some agreements about what to do if they were ill after we got home. A friend has a papered German Shepard and there were all sorts of points about both breeder and owner responsibilities regarding illness, etc after transfer of ownership. I would just like to see you get some compensation for your vet bills, at least. I know too well that nothing monetary can make up for the stress you're feeling for your little girl right now.
