I don’t really hate the Astros too much because I’m sure they won’t alone in their shenanigans. But I really, really enjoyed when the Dodgers’ organist played “I Saw the Sign” when they were in town. 😂 I kind of love that the dodgers troll. Some players look so miserable playing the game

I could not care less about 2017. There is barely anyone left from that team and I’m not going to abandon a franchise that holds lifelong memories over the poor decisions of people who aren’t even here anymore.
Would love an Astros/Dodgers WS rematch though. It might permanently raise my blood pressure but I’d be into it.

I guess this is a good place to drop that in my daughter's vocabulary journal she used the Astros and Dodgers to define adversary. It's a comic of the Dodgers logo saying "We are going to beat you." The Houston symbol has a baseball bat and says "Y'all may be our adversary but we are definitely going to beat you."
I laughed so hard. Nothing wrong with a good rivalry! A Houston/Dodgers World series would be fun but would also actually kill me I think. I think I would need BP meds first.

I don't think my heart could handle a Rangers/Cardinals rematch. I was pregnant with B at the time and it was not good times for me.

Also, the 2001 World Series between the Diamondbacks and the Yankees was one of the greatest weeks of my life. I watched every game with a bunch of friends in college and drank sooooo much. TWENTY YEARS!

TWENTY YEARS! This was me with the 2003 WS. Until my friend jinxed the entire thing by buying champagne in the 7th inning and then we went on to loss that game and eventually the entire series. Such good times though. SF played the games in a park for people who couldn’t go to the series and away games and it was a PARTY.

So. I lived in Fenway in 2003 when the Red Sox made it to the playoffs for the first time in a long time. They played the A’s on the west coast to win the division series. Yeah, 1am and people are streaming outside. I texted my friend and she was like “yup” and we walked the two blocks to the park.
Never have I ever.
People were crowd surfing on mattresses. People were climbing up the side of Fenway. Fire trucks drove into the crowd and pulled people on for joy rides. It was wild. I asked what happens if they win against the Yankees in the Championship series. “They flip cars.” And if they lose? “They flip cars.”
It remains one of the wildest postseason baseball memories that I have. And I saw the Phils’ win the World Series in person during the second half of game 6 where the first half was played three days beforehand.
EDIT - Riot police surrounded Fenway for the Yankees series. It was bone silent and terribly intimidating.

DH finally got his dream of a child who loves Cardinals baseball. DS is screaming and doing somersaults in the living room right now.

I also big yawn this. If you follow the league, former and current players, coaches, staff, etc. What the Astros did was not particularly novel, it was just more high tech…and they got caught. Lord knows I was pissed, bc overall our city teams are known as good guys and our fans show up no matter the record. I was very, very disappointed. But I’m also very “keep the same energy” about Cole and all the other pitchers (for example) this year who saw their production TANK after they could no longer get away with using the sticky stuff. Plus their record wasn’t overwhelmingly dominant when they were cheating so they weren’t very good at it. 🤣 listen. i'm from philly. we hold a grudge against Tom Brady from 17 years ago when he cheated before the super bowl. YES the eagles would have lost anyway. YES he is the best quarterback ever. BUT WE ARE STILL UPSET ABOUT IT. it's just what we do here. YES MCNABB PUKED ON THE FIELD BUT FUCK THE PATS FOREVER.

Then they won and I was in line at Modell's at midnight buying all the things.

I didn’t realize Goldsmitch is on the Cards now. That makes me nervous to face them. He’s a Giants killer.

If the Dodgers lose, all I’m going to hear tomorrow is how terrible Joe West is and it’s all his fault.

Another ‘stros fan reporting! I love the specialty food at Minute Maid, so I always do a lap and see what’s available before I decide. I had the Irish nachos at the last World Series game I went to, so If we’re there again I’m sure MH will not let me change it up. We’ll be at game 1 of the ALDS Friday afternoon so I’ll let you know what I choose. 😋 I’m a big Alex Bregman fan. Not in a he’s so hot way but in a I love to watch him on and off the girls way. It started many years ago with absolute shenanigans, but there is renewed fervor with his salsa this year which I am fully stocked up on. Dodgers can kick rocks and that’s the nicest thing I have to say. I forgot the other questions. It’s a long story how, but I have his number. I had forgotten I have it but recently I started to text my friend Brent and when I typed the Bre it brought his name right up. 🥰

Anyway. Another Astros fan here. My kid’s school is out this week and has a camp in place so he can wear an Altuve shirt instead of his uniform tomorrow.
I love that little guy.

Man, Joe Kelly is a beast. We should have kept his ass. I’ll never forget the 19-inning game DH and I sat through where he pitched 9 full innings as a reliever.

They stopped food service after 7 like normal. So we were starving. And they fucking lost.

I don’t like how long Wainwright is going into this game. Use your bullpen. Tire everyone out.
