Brag post: I have been trying to focus on working out consistently. I've set a goal of 150 minutes per week. I've met or exceeded that goal for the past 3 weeks! That’s awesome! I did a work out for the first time in a month yesterday. I loved it. I wish I had more time to do it more often. I need to figure something out because my weight loss is not going well.

Thanks! Honestly, I don't enjoy working out. But I like how I feel after. I have been focusing on that. And there is no doubt it's been good for me and my mood.

So far I'm not focusing on weight loss. I'm definitely hungrier. Weight loss is next though. Still hanging on to 20 extra lbs (for now).

carmensandiego that's amazing! Now that house stuff is done, I'm hoping to stop at the park after work and go for runs. If I can get in half an hour, I'd be happy. And we are officially a go for closing on the 13th!!!! The mortgage broker called and said the underwriter approved everything. Ahhhh! I'm so excited!

I notice a significant improvement in my anxiety and depression when I'm working out regularly. It tends to help with my insomnia a little bit, too

So my kids were having the longest week ever and desperately slogging toward the 3 day weekend. So as a surprise I set up a Cider bar for an after school treat. I got a cheap fold up TV tray table so I can shove it behind the hutch when not in use, threw a Halloween table cloth over it, and got adorable little fall themed tumblers from Target. I put the Cider in individual size bottles in our high hat (yes, we have an antique silver high hat) and put out Caramel Torani syrup, Whipped cream, Caramel dessert sauce, crushed up Graham crackers and Halloween sprinkles and cute little gold spoons. They were ABSOLUTELY delighted. Rave reviews. So I'll definitely be putting that out a few times this fall and I'm definitely going to be installing a hot chocolate bar during December. It was so easy and it brought us all such joy.

And then I lose motivation and focus and it’s bs I ti square one. 🤦🏻♀️

I don't have a spare bedroom but if you don't mind sharing the playroom with the piggies you're welcome to be a member if the DC family

How many air mattresses can fit in that playroom? Just out of curiosity.

I want to print this reply out and post it to my mirror to remind me how I feel afterwards. I love your attitude and congrats on getting it done! My new goal for this next week is to get after it

I turned in my first paper this week and just got the grade back and it's an 89 and ooh my inner perfectionist is trying to come out and I'm like, yo 89 is a really good grade for your first assignment in 15 years 😂

Tripped and fell today in my yard, over nothing, and have a bruise on my thigh that I'm trying to ice with a bag of peas.
Baby Blurnette is crying next to me because she wants to eat the frozen peas as a "nack". My child is crying over peas. I don't know this world is.

I'm lazing in bed bc I don't feel well (sore throat, congestion, fatigue) and I stumbled on the most delightfully absurd spooky season cooking show. It's called The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell. It's a whole vintage spooky aesthetic with cool baking recipes. I'm in love.

Oh my god stop the world I wanna get off.
My last remaining grandparent, my maternal grandma, was just diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully it’s super early and she’s having surgery next Friday to remove it and should only need radiation and not chemo. But she’s almost 80 so obviously any surgery comes with risk. I’m glad it’s got a good prognosis but JFC can I just wrap her in a bubble please.

Anecdote - a dear former coworker in her early 80's was also diagnosed with breast cancer at a very early stage this year. She had surgery and a short course of radiation and right now all is well with her. She was in pretty good physical shape to start out with, but 83, I believe. Her physicians are very optimistic about her future prognosis. If this had to happen, I'm glad your grandmother was diagnosed so early and getting treatment quickly. May everything go as well as possible.

Thanks everyone. It definitely isn’t the worst news to get but after this last 2 years of constant death and loss I’m just ready for a break for quite a while. I’ve also just been fortunate to be super close to my grandmas and so I can’t quite come to terms with her mortality yet.

Only I took my professor aside to “gently” dispute it. I had no chill.
