I made it to the store to try out the Sole treadmills and was surprised to find that I liked the cheaper model better. I might end up going with the Nordictrack one, though, because I can purchase that much sooner than the Sole one, and I'm sure (hopefully) the performance would be comparable.
It takes me forever to make decisions that are this expensive.

I was thinking of a sole but one of them had a bunch of reviews that all the Bluetooth and speakers never worked right. Like they made some irritating whining noise constantly.

Evening everyone! I don't think I have posted since Thursday. As far as September goes, I think it went really well. I've maintained my 20 lb weight loss. I'd like to lose 2-3 more lbs but it's just been tough with a lot of social events (which I'm glad to have). Hopefully I can reach that goal by the holidays. I am up to 627 strength workout as of today and have been following HCOTF for 9 months! I feel very fit and strong and I (vainly) enjoyed hanging out on our boat this summer in my bikini looking good, lol. The weekend was a shitshow of eating- Friday we had a nice dinner with relatives who were in town. I had french onion soup, an autumn salad, and a pumpkin beer and some red wine. Saturday we were on the boat all day (these days are numbered now). We had a "Boatoberfest" and brought Oktoberfest beers and grilled brats and soft pretzels. Super fun. Tonight was Chinese takeout. To update on my dad- he got to go home from the hospital today. All of the tests he had (including lumbar puncture Friday evening) yielded NOTHING, and he no longer has a fever and seemed stronger, so he was discharged. While I am glad that nothing serious seemed to be wrong with him, I almost wish there had been something mild that could have been pinpointed and treated. His diagnosis was just acute viral syndrome, I guess. My mom got him home today and said he immediately took the longest, hottest shower (bathing was subpar in the hospital) and almost passed out. Oye. Hopefully that was just from the hot water and standing too long. I think he's doing alright now. My mom is understandably nervous being alone with him of course. As long as he can mostly stay on the couch in the den and not exert himself too much I hope they'll be okay. I really appreciate everyone who asked about him and sent thoughts and prayers. You guys are the best. Now I just hope that he'll be well enough to travel to my brother's wedding in 2 weeks...always something to be anxious over lol. CONGRATS on finishing your race cnf!!!

30 minute interval run with Adrian this afternoon outside. The weather was gorgeous and the run felt good.

I just was doing research on the Xterra trx4500 and I'm even more confused now, haha. I found that Xterra is the same parent company as Sole, but has recently pulled ahead in product quality and customer service. Plus it has a lifetime warranty on both the frame and the motor and 5 years on the deck, which seems like a good insurance policy when buying an expensive piece of equipment sight unseen.

Glad your dad is home and doing better beerlover. I'm sorry they couldn't find anything, but hopefully that means he had a weird reaction to an especially crappy virus that his body will just finish kicking out of his system and be just fine. Hang in there 💙

Congrats cnf! Great job pushing through the doubt and getting the finish! Today was a rest day. The COVID booster kicked my ass so I wasn’t worth anything until around 3pm and then we took a walk at a park so there was at least a little movement today.

I’m so glad he’s doing better beerlover ! I agree, it’s almost better to have a diagnosis so that you can pinpoint a reason for the illness to happen. I hate the not knowing part!

cnf, I am so very proud of you! To run that many miles in sucky conditions, especially soggy, chafing shoes, is so bad-ass. To do battle with doubt and emerge triumphant is amazing. 📣 So darn cute that your DD got to finish with you. ❤️

20 mile run planned for today. We had random stuff come up at the last minute so I had to break it up into 3 runs, but I made 2 of them tougher to offset the breaks and it worked out really well.
AM: 7.5 easy miles Mid day: 7.5 miles of speed work PM: 5 miles of speed work
Tiiiiiiime to taper!

Congrats cnf! I’m proud of you for getting it done when you wanted to quit. Sorry about your toes. I’ve debated training for a half marathon next year but honestly the toe nail thing creeps me out. I’ve seen some pretty traumatic stuff at work but messed up toe nails or finger nails will always have me 🤢. It’s my kryptonite!

Congrats cnf. Don’t loose sight of the fact that accomplishing even one marathon in a lifetime is an amazing feat. I could never and I am in awe. jorkzy I almost always hide the leader board. But you know what is cool? In 6 months go back and take a few rides that you took in your first peloton month. That is a great way to see your progress. I did that recently and it made me feel so strong. My October goals… I’m going to try to be more conscious of food this month. Really just trying not to eat unless I’m hungry. Eating more fruits and veggies for snacks instead of just carbs. And keep on with what I have been doing with exercise, peloton most days, yoga or strength at least 3 days a week. Overall I think I’ve been doing great with the exercise but could use a renewed focus on intuitive eating!

If it makes you feel better I've been running for 21 years and if lose a couple now it'll only be the second time. Well fitting shoes and good form will prevent your toes from getting jacked up. And so far I've only lost them to full marathons.

Congrats, cnf! A marathon is a huge accomplishment! I've not been as lucky as you in the toe nail department...marathons have turned me into a closed toe shoe wearer My first postpartum race is this weekend. I'm using it as a training run for a half next month, which I really want to PR. Today is my rest day. I've got 5 easy tomorrow and speed work Wednesday.

I’ve also never lost a toenail from a half. I think I’ve had three toenail casualties, all from fulls. Losing a toenail is gross, but there can also be something weirdly satisfying about it, and it can bring immense relief.

Rest day today! Or at least this morning. I've always been a "start the week off right" person who never missed a Monday, but lately I've been sleeping in a bit on Mondays and am finding I'm not dragging at work as much. I ran 4 miles both Saturday and Sunday and had 2 days of CF before that, so I'm due for a rest anyway. Now to get motivated to work!

I'm pretty positive I'm going to lose both my pinky toenails, and maybe one big toenail. Twenty six plus miles in soggy shoes just decimated my feet. I mean…. Did you even run a marathon if you don’t lose a toenail? Edit: I kept reading and saw there are some serious concerns about it, so just wanted to say I’m joking. I’ve run four fulls and numerous half’s and only lost a toenail once.

It speeds up quickly, incline moves quickly, is very comparable to the adjustment speed of the peloton tread in my experience.

I have lost 2 toenails to half marathons and recently just lost one of the same toenails again due to training. apparently i live the no toenail life.
serious question. do you all paint the toe with no toenail?

This month is going to be a little rough. We are having oot company this week so eating will be off and drinking will be up a little. I really hope I can still get to the gym W & F mornings. We also have a week long vaca planned in the middle of the month; I'll get lots of steps but no real workouts so I have adjusted my "goal" accordingly. First workout of the month done- body pump and 35 min. cardio. I need to meal plan for the week. B/L- tbd. Dinner is going to be the red curry that was posted last week.
