I also want to say Joe isn't sounding all that great. He's meandering around topics.

I will say at least Joe is pronouncing Boise correctly Hi, i'm just talking to myself sorry His travel schedule today is bonkers thanks to the joke that is the CA recall. I feel badly that he had to take time away from important matters like touring wildfire areas to stump for Gavin.

I feel badly that he had to take time away from important matters like touring wildfire areas to stump for Gavin. So both Risch and Crapo are not here, however, Wyden and Merkley were supposed to be, but couldnt get out due to weather, which is weird since you know they are just coming back from recess and they should have just stayed IN Oregon. I can't believe (well I can) that the first presidential visit since Obama in 2012 doesnt warrant the senators being here. He leaves here in about an hour for CA.

Oh no. If there were only a way this could have been prevented. Time to pony up your own dollars for a private charter. Sad.

......what?!
Manchin (W.Va.), who’s in charge of writing the bill, said on CNN on Sunday that he thinks the CEPP is a terrible idea because the switch to clean energy doesn’t need a push from the government. “The transition is happening. Now they’re wanting to pay companies for what they’re already doing,” Manchin said. “It makes no sense to me at all for us to take billions of dollars and pay utilities for what they’re going to do as the market transitions.”

Media and how they cover issues is such a problem. If they hadn't pandered to DT, you wonder where we might be these days. There aren't two right answers to everything.

This is insane. Also from the article "Pelosi pushed back.
"What I'm saying to you is that if they couldn't even stop him from an assault on the Capitol, who even knows what else he may do? And is there anybody in charge at the White House who was doing anything but kissing his fat butt all over this?""

I'm on a fascinating call with the Brennan Center at NYU Law school about the intersection between the first and second amendments and one of the professors on the panel wisely pointed out that Charlottesville and January 6 represent 2 unique events in just 4 years where police didn't have the firepower to stop violence from armed protesters and that's a huge problem

And is there anybody in charge at the White House who was doing anything but kissing his fat butt all over this?"" I forgot a little what peak Trump stories were like. "Milley's fear that Trump could do something unpredictable came from experience. Right after Trump lost the election, Milley discovered the President had signed a military order to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan by January 15, 2021, before he left the White House. The memo had been secretly drafted by two Trump loyalists. No one on the national security team knew about it, according to the book. The memo was eventually nullified, but Milley could not forget that Trump had done an end run around his top military advisers." and then "No, no, no!" Trump shouted, according to the authors. "You don't understand, Mike. You can do this. I don't want to be your friend anymore if you don't do this." And I guess we can all thank Dan Quayle for Pence sticking to democracy: Over and over, Pence asked if there was anything he could do. "Mike, you have no flexibility on this. None. Zero. Forget it. Put it away," Quayle told him. Pence pressed again. "You don't know the position I'm in," he said, according to the authors. "I do know the position you're in," Quayle responded. "I also know what the law is. You listen to the parliamentarian. That's all you do. You have no power."
