I'm tickled that flares and clunky-ass boots are back in, but I don't know how my middle-aged body will handle them. I'm trying them anyway, haha.

Don't buy anything warm unless you like sweating. I live up by Pismo but I mean, a jacket is the most you need and I'm sure you have a jacket. Think about layers. We have what feels like multiple seasons in one day up here. Start out cold (50s), then hot by 1pmish. This is good to know! Maybe I should get a few more cardigans and light long sleeves to wear under my non parka jacket 😊 cardigans are my go to. I might wear a long sleeve sweater on those really cold days (mid 60’s).

I bought some boots by this brand in a random shoe store in Denver a few years ago. They are incredibly comfortable and totally waterproof. They’ve held up really well. us.bosandco.com/collections/women-fw21

I’m ready for my first warm climate winter and likely need to buy nothing… but I’m sure I’ll cave soon. I don’t really know what I need though? I usually would do sweaters and boots and all the jeans but it feels like overkill. Don't buy anything warm unless you like sweating. I live up by Pismo but I mean, a jacket is the most you need and I'm sure you have a jacket. Think about layers. We have what feels like multiple seasons in one day up here. Start out cold (50s), then hot by 1pmish. Layers is where it's at, for sure. And fall is usually pretty warm here, we used to call it Indian summer though I'm sure that's not great now. I can't remember how far south you settled, but I lived in LA for 6 years and it's the same there as it is here in the Bay.

For California, an old navy "sweater coat" is my warmest warmest outwear layer.

I was going to buy myself a black Patagonia nano puff at the Nordstrom sale but they didn't have them on sale this year. I know they're fairly timeless, but are they going out of style? I need a lightweight casual jacket for our mild winters and two fall trips we have (Boston and NYC.) Any recs?

For Patagonia, I still like their jackets and I find the better sweaters very versatile for the fall northeast climate. Not sure where you live, but you will see a lot of Patagonia in New England!

sterling, when I lived in California, I got a ton of use out of my water resistant trench coat in the winter. Also, lots of midweight cardigans, thicker long sleeved shirts, and very light sweaters. Layers are your friend when it’s 65F in the morning and 80F in the afternoon.

I ended up with a couple cardigans from a thrift shop yesterday and then also: This blazer. The ribbon tie in the back is so flattering for the waistline, I love it. and these pants: The pants are definitely a darker brown in person. They actually work super well with the blazer because the blazer has more brown/burgundy undertones in person too.

I'm on the hunt for a new long, warm parka. I have a $50 one from Costco from many years ago and I want to upgrade. I can't decide if I want to pull the trigger on a $300 from Patagonia. Does anyone have one they love or hate? I'm trying to decide if it's worth spending that much. The one I'm eyeing: www.patagonia.com/product/womens-down-with-it-parka/28441.html

They took and repaired a pair of pants that H had ripped for the cost of shipping.

I have a Patagonia parka. Not sure if it’s that one though. You can’t go wrong with Patagonia, but I get a lot of it on Poshmark or RealReal since the second hand holds up really well.

I’ve been scouting for a classic Jean jacket. Lighter wash. A flattering one too. I’m picky.

I’m warm and cozy inside. I wear it in the rain and snow. 10/10.

willow, where is the blazer from? Both pieces are from White House Black Market. Basically the main place I buy new work clothing because I know how it all fits on me and I buy so much of it that their coupons are actually worth it. 😂

I have a propane fire pit. I love it, no smoke smell, no wood and no having to babysit it to make sure it's gone out all the way.

I don't know if I can go back to clunky boots. I also want a fire pit. I haven't been willing to spend the money but with the fall coming and more days at home now...welp. We want to get a fire pit like this and I think it will be so fun to use with friends in the winter.

I need skinny dress pants for my boots days. I had some from Van Heusen that fit well but fell apart. Old Navy pixie pants seem to be crap lately.
