I finalllly managed to get my first 20 min Peloton ride in today after the bike was delivered Friday (I’ve had a really sick and clingy 3yo). I just sorted by easiest and then did the second one that popped up 😂. I stayed in the middle of the rec’d cadence and resistance and actually did just fine, so I could probably push myself a little harder. My butt was so unhappy though. Like, I’m legitimately afraid the old girl is going to enact some kind of revenge on me.
Goals for this month are to: Move my body every day, even if it’s just a walk Drink more water. I’m pretty good about this but could definitely do better. Alcohol only on weekend nights. No mindless eating.
I have a wedding in Miami in November and I’d really like to feel more comfortable in my own body by then.

Jumping in for accountability in August. I didn’t do much food tracking in July and I really noticed a different in how I felt- pretty low energy and very irritable. I maintained workouts but didn’t enjoy them much. It’s amazing how different I feel when I properly fuel my body. My goal for August is to consistently track food (even on weekends and vacations- my downfall), drink plenty of water, and listen to my body for workouts. I did a Jess King outdoor walk today and a 15 minute Jess Sims’ family fun cardio with my 6 year old.

No big goals for August for me, I started in on doing 2 flash 15 workouts/week in July, which already feels better in my body, so I plan to keep that up. Unfortunately, this weekend was a total bust - my kids are sick, so our normal stroller/bike/run extravaganza was out, then our fridge stopped working, so the whole day was spent helping H defrost the coils in our freezer/running food over to the neighbors/etc.
We also are scheduled to demo our kitchen 8/23, so trying to wrap my head around how to feed my family with no kitchen for 2 months. Basically no pasta, which is my toddlers main food group. I hope they like microwaved quesadillas!

I really crushed July and have lost about a size and 5 stubborn pounds so I'm pleased. I ate healthy breakfasts and lunches thanks to meal planning and did what I wanted for dinners including cocktails so I feel it's maintainable. I set a calorie burn goal for the month and surpassed it. I have the same goal set for August.
Body pump + cardio this AM- done
B- will be avocado toast with an egg L- back to quinoa caprese salad D- spatchcock chicken with roasted brussel sprouts and red potatoes.

Oh, I got it this morning.
45 EDM ride with Jess King 20 minute glutes and legs with Adrian
The ride was so good and so hard! I crushed my 45 minute PR and there were times I couldn't keep up with the call outs. This particular ride is one Reddit loses its mind about which is why I picked it. They lovingly refer to it as the Weightless ride because of the last 5 minutes. It was such a good ride, highly recommend. It's from 2/27/20 so there are people in studio, in case you don't want to be startled, lol.
The kids and I are headed to Wegmans soon. The need to shop is real and painful. Food will be back on track.

I ate and drank like an asshole this weekend and am seriously paying for it today. Beers, super rich foods, wings.....my stomach is all bloated and crampy and I just feel like crap. Just the idea of eating is making me feel worse, but of course my stomach is growling so I'm going to have to find something. I had raspberries and plain ff greek yogurt for breakfast.
At least I've been keeping up on my workouts! I ran 5 miles Saturday and 3 on Sunday. Crossfit this morning (which was miserable with how I already felt). I'm happy today is Monday, so it feels like a good day to reset for the week. I think dinner tonight is going to be a poke bowl.

Does watching the final round of the CrossFit games count as activity because that is as close as I came yesterday. Man watching the women is so inspiring.
I managed to keep my food on track until the baked ziti we had yesterday for my nephew's birthday. It was so good I couldn't stop diving back in.
I have workouts stacked for today but may have to adjust as we're having work done and they need access to the workout area today.

Does anyone have any good worksheets or sources on goal setting? Like I know the basics, but I am so awful at actually coming up with anything because I always end up so far off in either direction. Like they are stupid easy and require no effort so it's not really accomplishing anything, or I can tell myself it's realistic, but in reality it's way out of reach for either the time frame or just in general. I don't happy medium/land reasonably on them at all. I have been told "not sucking" is not an acceptable goal for a meet. I find it to be perfectly reasonable and challenging.

CurlieWhirlie, did you notice any non-body size changes? Like lifting heavier or going harder on the bike, or better endurance? Better sleep? Stress reduced? As you know, I’m NAF of weight-based goals, really for this exact reason. Like - look at all the amazing things you’ve done, how consistent you’ve been, how much you’ve seemed to enjoy the time you spend moving - and that stupid scale ruined all those good feelings! You’ve been doing amazing things for your body, for your physical and emotional health - it’s def not “all for nothing” despite what the scale and measuring tape say.

As for me, I was more consistent with movement this month, which I think was my main goal for the month. I’ve done 5 of the 19 flash15s but I don’t think I’ll get through them by Sept 1 so that’ll be a “by Oct 1” goal.

I'm trying to go number related (because that's the most measurable thing), and that's a huge issue. Like my meet in November- is 500 still a reasonable squat goal with the cut? Maybe? I really can't even make a reasonable guess right now. I had numbers in mind for nationals and they all went down the drain pretty quickly. Some for things out of my control, others because they were way too lofty. Like I had a decent day, but it was not the day I had wanted. And I wasn't a little bit off the mark. I was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off the mark. ETA: I know I'm being whiny. I've had some things go majorly backward the last couple months and we are still trying to figure out why. Which doesn't help.

Today’s workout was great- 10 min core followed by 10 minute flutes and legs w/ Rad and 20 minute glutes and legs w/ Ben. I ended with a 10 minute low impact ride to flush my legs out and a nice stretch. The weather is great so I may also get a walk in before picking up the kids. Food is planned and tracked: B: Delights frozen breakfast sandwich; air-fried asparagus L: Deli turkey, cottage cheese, mixed veg, club crackers D: Easy salad S: protein shake, peach, strawberries and yogurt

20 min glutes/legs with Ben, 10 min legs with Rad, 10 min core with Rad, 20 min pop ride with Cody. It was a little tough getting back into the swing of things after vacation and I felt like I tired a bit more easily today, but I pushed through.
B - toast, turkey sausage, fruit L - Trader Joes chicken potstickers, rice, veggies D - H wants wings for his birthday so wings and beer it is (twist my arm!). I am also making him a funfetti cake (his fav) so I'll have a small piece later. This type of food is not typical for us on a Monday night but I'm planning healthy dinners the rest of the week.

I decided to try to use the HCOTF calendar so I added slow flow Yoga yesterday after my ride and just did 10 min core with Rad and 10 min G&L with him as well. I’m in terrible shape 🥵 so I don’t know if I can do another 20 minutes of lower body at the moment. I’ll hopefully add a ride this evening though.
B: Super big coffee, I’m terrible at breakfast. L: Homemade Ramen S: Currently sitting at the kitchen table eating an Orange and regretting many life decisions.

Hello! I refuse to acknowledge it is August already.
I don't remember my July goals. Eat well work out blah blah blah.
I'm on vacation and the weather is gorgeous. I swim most days and don't care if it counts as a workout.
My hip pain is gone for the most part, and I am sad it will most likely return when we get home and I go back to walking five-ish miles a day on concrete.

I legitimately didn’t realize it’s already August. Whoops. I don’t think I had any July goals. I just wanted to be consistent and hang out with you guys. I think I did pretty well except for the week I took off for my shins. My goals for August are to run 3 days a week and to do strength training 4 days a week. I’ll double up on two days so I can still have two complete rest days. I’m still not tracking food, but I’m trying to be mindful of eating more protein where I can.
My sister’s subscription for BOD ended so I need to find something to replace Liift4. Since I was using her login 🤣 Today I just used the weight progress chart as a cheat sheet to figure out what the chest/tricep workout would have been and did it on my own. I can’t decide if I want to just do it that way (doing the Liift4 workout without the video) or to try to find videos on YouTube or something to follow.

Met with my trainer in the morning vs lunch hour because of a meeting I had, so that was weird and my muscles felt it. Chest and shoulders and core. I will have to bookmark that ride, cnf. I love her EDM rides.

Got my 20 minute slow flow with Kirra done. It feels so good to do night time yoga again. It is such a noticable difference in how my body feels and performs when I stretch regularly and do yoga 4-5x a week. These last two weeks being out of town I really skimped and man, I can feel it. Happy to get that in and hopefully get myself grounded and recentered.
Food ended up being ok. Not great, but not bad either. Nothing I had was particularly bad or unhealthy, I just ate way too much and now I feel very uncomfortable. Will keep trying to whittle myself back to good tomorrow.

July goals were just to keep up with exercise, eat decently & stay hydrated. Overall I did okay and I’m down about 1.5lbs again this month. August’s goals are the same — just keep on keeping on. 10 min core w/ Rad 10 min glutes & legs w/ Rad 20 min HIIT w/ Tunde

I had planned a run today but we had a student in crisis this morning and had to debrief with the team after the kids left, which ran right up against pickup for my son from camp. H was gone until 6:30 so I never made it out so kept my stuff packed for tomorrow.
I did clean and organize 4 rooms in my house today, which is going to help my mental health immensely. Clutter and disarray spikes my anxiety, so I’m hoping this helps with my sleep, food choices, and general state of wellbeing.

I did a 20 min walk with Chase and then a 10 min scenic. It looks like the leaderboard is back on the scenic classes, so yay!!! I do them a lot so I can listen to my own music, and I was super bummed when they removed it, so this is great.

August. I am not happy to see you. It’s going to be a rough month at work so hoping I’ll make it through in one piece. And it’s my last month home before we are supposed to go back to the office, which I am not thrilled about.
I feel like I had really ambitious goals in July, but I mostly hit them. One of my goals was to close all 3 rings every day. I did that, except that I missed my stand goal ONE day by an hour thanks to back to back meetings that day that lasted 5 hours. I know I should count it, but the perfectionist in me says I didn’t hit it.
Goals for August are mostly the same as July. But things I need to be better about:
- run 3 days in addition to my 3 rides / week - more water - eat midday - I’m terrible at lunch food and just tend to skip rather than figure out what to eat - don’t let work interfere with all of the above
My weekend plans fell apart. After a rough work week I was so mentally and physically exhausted, so I just did recovery activities. That means I never did my 200th ride. I really didn’t want it to be my 60 minute PZ ride so today I did a 20 minute Sam Yo class (imagine dragons) and had fun. And then I did my 60 minute ride. I am exhausted but don’t regret my choice.

OMG to today's HCOF stack. So. Many. Squat jumps.
I didn't have much time so I just did a 15 minute HIIT ride with Ben for my cardio on top of the strength stack. I almost never ride with Ben. I just can't get into him. He sounds like a cricket announcer and he's just so bland and flavorless.

My August goal is just survival. There is so much in transition this month and we’ve been busy. DD starts preschool tomorrow. I start the new job next week so I’m trying to wrap up what I’m working on but the preschool does a gradual transition so I’ll be back and forth a lot this week and sitting in on her class. We also have closet systems being installed this week. My workout today was moving everything to one side of the garage so the space is clear for the shelves to be installed.
My son’s aftercare starts in September so next month I’ll actually have 40 hours/week of childcare for both kids and can maybe attempt to get into a routine. This month I’ll be happy if I do something intentional everyday, even if it’s just a meditation.

Had my sprint tri on Sunday. It went pretty well considering I didn’t do much to prepare this month. The swim took 8 minutes and I averaged about 20 mph on the bike and ran a 9:45 pace on the run. My run should be better than that but I didn’t do anything to prepare. My older girls raced too and did great. They pushed each other to not walk on the run. Fun morning.
I’m at my grandma’s for a couple of days before heading to my mom’s so no workouts until Thursday. Eating isn’t the best either but I’ll get back to my routine next week.
