I made fried eggs in my stainless steel pan today. They stuck a little, but still turned out great.

I’m psyched for the weekend. This week felt long even though I was off Monday. M is back to school in less than 2 weeks, so I’ll be school supply shopping. We got a gazebo thing for the back patio, so will be assembling that and I’m looking forward to spending time outside (at least when things cool down). Having friends over Sunday, so looking forward to that.

I am picking up the kids this afternoon. I've missed them so much this week.
I have an servpro, a roofer and insurance adjuster coming this morning to talk about my wet basement and leaking exhaust fan. I have a feeling these issues just blew my whole bonus check.

Home ownership sucks. Crossing my fingers it’s all easily fixed.

I hope it turns out to be less costly than you expect 🤞

And my house is a mess. I’ll be spending a good 2 hours putting misc items in their proper spots. I also need to inventory my older children’s clothing and see what we need for school. Both have grown and could need new shirts and C needs new pants. All of his are above his ankles at this point.

DS2 would NOT go to sleep last night. Omg. Every time I would go in there he’s be happy as a clam. As soon as I left— screaming. This went on for like 3 hours. 😩
He and his brother have totally opposite sleep preferences. My oldest loves going to bed early and falling asleep right away, then wakes up early to play.

I'm cleaning my house this morning, then planning on going to the pool after lunch and staying there until dinner. And maybe we will even order dinner delivered there, because it's Friday and why not. We have friends coming into town for the weekend so I'm looking forward to going out to a kid-free dinner with my friend, and lots of beach and pool time.
I love the beach and pool. LOOOVE. Summer is the best.

E and A’s bunk beds came yesterday so I took apart their current beds, moved them to the garage (they’re going to the inlaws), and started building the new beds. They’re so excited. It’s adorable. They also asked to get their ears pierced for their 5th birthday next month so now I need to find a place to do it. They’re growing so fast!
We have a lazy weekend. Making homemade pizza tonight and s’mores on the firepit. We got peaches and a ton of mint from our CSA so thinking we’ll make some peach mojitos too.

I’m seriously considering getting some cute night gowns. Do it! I got a couple of nightgowns to take with me when I had F (easy access to everything that needed to be accessed) and they're so freaking comfy. I need to get some more lol

I made someone at work cry.
To be fair she’s really stressed and I honestly wanted to give her a heads up on an issue before we dumped it on her in training with 20+ people on the call.
But I totally understand the reaction.
I was also swearing up and down about how the consulting team dropped this 2 weeks from my required training sessions.

Working with a little assistant today. Tomorrow L has an appt with her ophthalmologist. Hoping they can give us some insight on why her eyes keep drifting in when she tries to focus. Really hoping to get the bigs moved to their new bedroom on Sunday so we can get H's nursery set up in their current room. He's quickly outgrowing his bassinet.

I don't think we have any plans for the weekend aside from N's baseball on Sunday and maybe a picnic in the park tomorrow. I have a friend who wants us to meet at a beach that's almost 2 hours away and while I'd love to go, I just feel like that's too far and will disrupt C's schedule too much.

This sounds like what E’s eyes do. It’s because she’s near sighted - fun fact most kids are until their eyes drop growing around age 8. It’s just that some struggle to focus more than others. If you get the same diagnosis (accommodative esotropia), I’d be happy to chat about our experience. E was diagnosed at age 1.5 and we’ve resolved the issue with patching and glasses.

Both my children were in bed at 630 tonight, fast asleep by 730. They were driving me insane and fighting and not listening to anything I was saying so off to bed they went! They didn't even fight it. I assume I'll hate myself when they are up at sunrise tomorrow but for now I'm enjoying it.
I mopped my floors and showered and now I'm finishing the last two episodes of Good Girls with a big glass of red wine. Cheers!

We had a mini-family reunion yesterday with all vax adults and masked kids. It was fun but exhausting. I don't know if I can handle big gatherings any more or maybe it's because I now have 2 kids who run. Last time we all got together, J was a peanut I could babywear. We were all supposed to get together last Sept for the matriarch's birthday but 2020.

We started learning Spanish today with a Talkbox.Mom box. Everyone is pretty excited and we already started learning phrases that we'll use daily (like "I'm hungry", "let's clean up", and "it's bedtime")
Otherwise, we just started home and went down a rabbit hole of a property that just went up for sale. The house was small and needed updates, but there's a newer, two story barn that would be an amazing work space for me and it's on 4 acres with different fenced off areas. It would be a stretch to afford it, but I know just wanted to go look at it, just for funsies. But we'd prob just be wasting our realtors time. And R got weirdly attached to the idea of moving and then super disappointed when we said it wasn't going to happen (after driving into numbers).

The barn was much newer than the house and I could set up my business there and our dog could actually just safely free roam a big yard space. ::sigh::

I wasn't exactly sure where to put this but mc13, I saw your post on the GD Olympics thread about the video calls. I watched this video of Olympic parents' reactions for the first time last night and was sobbing.

They didn't mention esotropia but did give her a glasses prescription. That very well could be (probably is) her diagnosis, they just didn't go into much detail, which annoyed me. I was surprised but she's actually far-sighted, with astigmatism in her left eye. She crosses most up close, so they're hoping the glasses will help resolve the issue but mentioned trying a bifocal lense if the first Rx doesn't do the trick, and then looking at muscle surgery if the bifocal also fails. I was really surprised there was no mention of eye exercises or patching.
