I'm at the office. H spent the night at grandma's last night. I hate to say it, but it's so much easier with one kid. Granted I'm lucky because M is completely self sufficient and well behaved, for the most part. I just didn't realize how high maintenance H is. Lol.

Dear allergies: Just stop. Please. I'm taking the pills, I'm getting the shots, and yet, here you are, making me want to rip my eyes out and sniffling like a baby.

On a happier note. i found the damn EIN I've been looking for for months. It was in a bank folder, probably where it was supposed to be and I just kept overlooking it because I was like, "why would it be in there?"
Cadence has another week of ballet intensive and mh has agreed to video call me so that I can watch on Thursday.
He also mentioned a work hh this Friday....like na in person one and I would prefer he not go. Fool can't go to work in the office, but they can meet up at a bar and hang out? Um....no. He also mentioned that when they go back...IN SEPTEMBER!...that it will be hybrid so he'll be working form home some weeks and in the office others. I said, um, no, Cadence and I want the kitchen table back and you can go to the office. "I don't want to drive all that way for nothing."......how about a paycheck? How about you drive that far every day so that you get paid. Instead, he would rather bring his work computer back and forth every couple of weeks. Hybrid is for those that have a computer at home and one at the office! His work computer is huge. Whatever. I swear, I married a weirdo.

My kid threw a tantrum last night because after not eating her dinner she was still hungry and I refused to let her have yet another popsicle. I told her she could have fruit. She brings out the fruit, mh asks to share, she closes the lid, says she's done and puts in back in the fridge, just so she doesn't have to share with him. Then proceeds to tell me I'm not LETTING her eat food and shes STARVING......

Shorts are too short, shirts are too tight because they are cut thinner it seems, off the shoulder everything. Its a nightmare.

S asked me the other day why his counselors (all teen/college kids) wore their shorts so small... Can you shop for some of that in the boys department? I know she likes some very "girly" things but I am seeing more unisex type looks in the boys dept lately.

I found her eating a bag of hershey kisses yesterday. I told her she's supposed to ask to have candy., she can't just eat it whenever she wants. She said it was ok because Pa had given them to her. Apparently, I have no say over candy given as gifts.

This has been their weirdest orientation day. HR is a hot mess and their communication sucks. They gave us an itinerary weeks ago and so far the only thing right was breakfast. Lol. And then it’s apparently a 3 day orientation, but we have to do the next 2 days on the south side of the city. I hear all the managers are not happy because they don’t get us in the department until Thursday and they found out Friday. They are like- please don’t judge us by your experience with HR. Lol I’m baffled because every other system has this process streamlined and smooth since it’s done at the start of every pay period. I’m sure this is not new to them, but it’s like HR’s first day, too.

Well this explains why M2 is a ham. 😂 He thinks he can eat popsicles Willy Nilly, too. Taught himself how to cut them and everything. I suspect he probably eats 4 between when he gets home from school and bed time.

klong11 Evie is in a size 10 and I agree, even in that size, some of the clothes are 'small.' I do not want my 7 year old wearing crop tops. I get that it's the style right now, but she has my belly and doesn't understand that we shouldn't wear clothes like that. We almost got in a blow up fight over it in Old Navy Saturday, but I won. Plus, I'm not sure schools even allow 2nd graders to wear crop tops! lahdeedah sorry about the confusion. Why can't companies just get their shit together. How hard is this stuff??? I sent my boss an email this morning letting him know I wasn't comfortable with what was asked of me last week. We will see if anything changes, but I've been asked to purchase parts for something we don't have a customer order for, plus the quantity require increased, and I have nothing in writing stating this. It's all been verbal. And even though I emailed the person who asked me TWICE to confirm, he still came and talked to me about it in person. I like emails to cover my ass. Our new refrigerator delivered this morning. So I guess I'm excited to go home and rearrange how H put stuff in it. Our old one wasn't getting cold enough in the freezer and after putting $300+ in it already, we are cutting our losses. Got a new one that will stay with the house, then will order the model we really like, for the new house.

Also, updates to my post from the weekend.
Trigger Warning
They took the last surviving child off life support Saturday morning. I haven't heard any update one her, but after the text my H sent me this morning, I guess I know why. H's cousin, mother of the 10yr old boy who passed, has apparently been on meth for the last 8 months. She's now being put into rehab. The boyfriend, who was home at the time, and father to the 2 little girls, was found in the backyard in his boxers only (fire was at 11am). *****Major Trigger Warning***** The kids that passed and were removed from life support, were found stacked on top of each other at the front door, 10yr old boy on top of them.
The father of the 10yr old is saying H's cousin can't attend services because the situation is her fault for staying in the situation. I guess the live in boyfriend was known to be abusive and into drugs.
Boyfriends family hasn't reach out to our family about anything, no information.
If investigators discover this was drug related, insurance won't pay anything.
At first I was mad that we sent her money, it wasn't a small amount and we are kind of struggling right now. But then I realize her 2 remaining teenage daughters need help, as does she. More than we do. And the money we sent was sent to H's aunt, so she will make sure it is used correctly.
The entire thing is just so sad. Those poor kids had to be so scared and it's sounding like their parents put them in a shit situation.

The young/small kids section is often up to 5 or 7 around here. I hate the bigger kids section. I do not want my 5yo in a dress with cut-outs around her waist and do not want my 7yo minecraft or #yolo shirts (nothing wrong with minecraft, just not for us). I wish we had a cat&jack line! Or a Carter’s, I saw )and got) so many cute stuff there!

OMG mwhip I got the chills while reading that. How horrible. I hope she gets the help that she needs. But also, once she sobers up I would imagine the guilt of putting the kids in that situation would be unbearable. Do they think the fire was caused by cooking meth?

nam2013, my kids don't eat popsicles most days (only b/c B doesn't like them so we rarely buy them). But after every meal they get a treat, usually m&ms, a "fun size" candy bar, or a package of minimuffins. We all love dessert in our house lol. S is still under 50 lbs.

Oh yeah we switch it up with a bowl of cereal or milk and cookies, ds’ favourite, both kids are around 45lbs and especially ds’ needs the calories. ETA the milk and cookies is a thing he learned in the US, people are highly grossed out by this habit over here 😂.

I don't know, but it definitely sounds plausible. Which makes me so angry. And would also explain why the family hasn't met the boyfriend and his kids. When she was dating/engaged to the 10yr olds dad, he used to come to family get togethers with her. I want to say they ended things when he was probably 2ish. It's been awhile since she has been at any family functions, but this explains why. She had lost a lot of weight the last time we saw her and H mentioned she might be on drugs. Which seemed weird to me because she didn't act any differently, plus I'm horribly naive regarding drugs and how people act on them.
