Hey y'all - how's everyone doing?
My working out has been on. point. Like, damn, I am PROUD of this ass for hitting the gym so often (4-5 days a week).
My eating, however, is generally great during the week and then I ruin it on the weekends. I need to get my shit together.
Anyone else crushing it or wanting to talk strategy about how to not eat like a total asshat?

I did a good job getting my eating pulled back together last week and even kept it fairly decent over the weekend. Today was an epic food disaster, but I'm going to get back at it tomorrow.
I'm still plugging away with peloton rides, strength classes, and marathon training. I need to do my 10 mile long run I missed over the weekend tomorrow morning. Now I have to do it on my treadmill with all three kids underfoot. Wish me luck, lol.

I feel like the most unmotivated person ever. All I want to do is lay on the couch and eat my weight in ice cream. Which is probably why I should be in here more.
I did go for a longer walk with the dog last night. My calves are not particularly happy with me today.

I'm having trouble controlling my eating. By the end of most days I feel verrrry bloated lol So I need to do better with my food choices. I am generally doing well with my daily activity, although I'm not always hitting my targets.

11 miles on the treadmill. Bleh. It's 11 more miles than I will do today, or this week, or likely this month! Go you!

Peloton folks - 30 min Spice Girls ride with Leanne Hainsby. It was 30 minutes of singing my heart out and also almost dying.

I need to go here. I lost almost 50 pounds last year and I had a few creep back on. And it’s OK, I know it’s ok. I have learned a lot about acceptance of my body and loving myself as I am. The problem is that I have noticed a drop in performance on my bike and I want that performance back. I have been struggling to get on the bike because the weather has been crap. I got out yesterday though, AND I will get out today AND my peloton arrives tomorrow!!! So I will be able to easily ride indoors or out, and I am here for this!
Oh! I also started doing a bunch of strength workouts this month using the hardcore on the floor peloton Facebook group calendar. I think I have down 7 or 8 days of the calendar this month which is more than all of the strength training I probably did last year, so that feels great too.

cyclegirl, holy moly, 50#, that is AMAZING!! Good for you, girl!! Even if a few crept back on, give yourself some grace, for sure. This is a super hard time to be alive, let alone be trying to maintain weight loss. Enjoy your first ride!

cyclegirl congratulations on 50lbs!! Creep backs or not, that is incredible. And welcome to the peloton cult! I was doing run and strength with the app for almost a year before getting my bike. I love it so much! Pop into the motivation thread on GD, I forget who, but someone has a spreadsheet with all of our leaderboard names!

I will PM you a link to the spreadsheet still even though it's not totally updated.

Also, I ran 5 miles today. Food, I need to work on, but I ate left over Alfredo for lunch. Ugh, I'm so not motivated to eat better but I'm also so disappointed and unhappy with myself. Such a shitty cycle to be in.

Such a shitty cycle to be in. I am here. I have been reasonably active this year but have a hard time managing this…especially over the summer when I don’t have the structure of the work day. I also have had a lot more social food gatherings since covid restrictions have loosened. I find for me that just planning my food the morning of or night before and sticking to the plan is very helpful. I need to do the same for social gatherings.

I used to be very good about preplanning my whole day in advance which does keep me honest and I tend to stay the course It's been hard the last couple of months with the end of the school year food and now how busy we've been all summer, rarely home. I'm just so over myself.

This week I have to do better. My diet has been off - I've been doing a bad job controlling cravings, I'm not reaching for healthier options, and I haven't been sticking to IF. So this week I am gonna take it day by day, meal by meal, and not give up when I have a bad day (or two). I also stopped using the rowing machine and I've just been walking instead, but I don't think that's enough to get me where I want to go (even though I walk a fucking lot lol). So, I am going to try to work in 30 min of cardio each day. This morning I went real real old school and used my fireplace step to do some stair climbing stuff, which was more enjoyable and difficult than you might think lol. At least 4 days this week, I'll just do whatever feels right - some more of that, rowing machine, maybe some sprints in the backyard, HIIT, I don't care. So long as I get my HR up for 30 min.
So today's meal plan: Breakfast - Whole wheat spice muffin, boiled egg, broccoli Lunch - Tuna fish Dinner - Vegetarian lasagna Snack - Peach

Yes to the singing and yes to the almost dying. I got a solid PR on my ride #100! That felt really awesome. My workouts are on fire right now but my eating... ooh it's a lot of carbs. I'm very purposefully not tracking calories, etc., but I need to make better choices. More oatmeal, fewer cinnamon rolls. More water, less hard seltzer.

I'm back on the wagon. Starting slow - just making sure I have 7-9 fruits and vegetables each day. I'll start calorie counting later.
Going to dust off the kettlebells and get back into regular yoga.

Hi everyone! I essentially took July off from paying attention to calories and regular exercise. I originally meant to take a short break between when I sold my bike and my rower arrived, but it ended up being a loooong break because my rower took forever to get here.
But my Ergatta arrived today! It’s pretty to look at, and I can’t wait to dive into the options for workouts. I’m also very ready to get back to counting calories. When I eat whatever I want, I eventually get bored with all food. Tracking helps some of my favorites feel like treats I am excited about again.
