How was your long weekend? Or maybe regular weekend? Or maybe you are still on vacation?

I’m up, I don’t want to, but I got up.
Kids are out of the house. Coffee has been made.
I have a long morning of meetings. Then I get to bother testers to confirm access to all the applications.
We got season passes to our city’s water park. So this weekend we went all 4 days. I told my husband we should just go during the week for a quick swim.

Blah. I didn’t have a long weekend, but MH did. I am struggling to stay on task this morning. I’ve had 2 cups of coffee & a cookie.

My older two are on week 3 of four weeks in a row of camp. It's so much quieter with just S at home, but he's tired of being left at home with his brothers gone. It's easier for sure, but bearing the brunt of 3-year-old all day, all by myself, is hard in another way.

We had a fun yet relaxing long weekend, although MH was on call on Sunday. We hosted dinner with neighbors Friday night, spent Saturday resting and catching up on laundry, took the kids to the fireworks on Sunday night after several hours at the pool and yesterday baked some peach desserts and hung out at the pool.
Today we've got a dog groomer appt for my old girl and are going out to eat later at a local brewery. And more laundry, which is neverending.

I worked yesterday, but was off Friday, so I still got a three day weekend. Yesterday was my holiday to cover, so I had the whole service. It got pretty busy in the middle of the day, but calmed down late afternoon. Weekend was nice, not too hot here. We took M to see fireworks both days, it was the first time she had ever seen them in person. I never tackled my TIT from last week, so maybe tonight if I remember (return shirt). If I take it to Kohl’s, I don’t even have to pack it up, so really quite easy to do.

We had a nice weekend. L's birthday was on Friday and the whole day was wonderful, then N had her first day of baseball on Sunday and she was so into it, it was adorable! It was so hot all weekend but it's cooler today, which is a relief.
I developed a case of NSAID-induced gastritis over the weekend (or at least that's what the doctor at urgent care thought last night). I felt absolutely awful all day yesterday and today I'm still feeling pretty sick. Thank goodness my parents are here so I can just lay on the couch all day.

Neither of my coffees (coconut mocha cappuccino then instant Vietnamese coffee) this morning were as tasty as I planned so I need to stick to drip coffee at home.
My kids couldn't get themselves together to go to a splash pad playdate. So they're happily chasing each other around the house and not too loud. We went to Six Flags on the 4th, and it was ridiculously crowded for requiring reservations. I waited for 90 mins with L for a kids' roller coaster but she said it was worth it LOL. We saw a bunch of different firework displays driving home. Fireworks at home are legal here. I partially hated it because of the fire hazard but loved it because it was cool to see.

We went camping at the lake for the 4th. As previously mentioned, the town is a shithole. But we had a good time. The kids swam for 12 hours then slept for 12 hours for 3 days in a row.
It was an eventful weekend though. The dock next to ours caught on fire from fireworks. The fire burned the rope that tied their boat to the dock. Mh ran over and kicked the burning boxes into the lake, while I ran to their front door and sent them out to check in things. Mh noticed the fire and was quick to spring into action. He saved their dock and their boat so he is quite the hero to me and that poor grandmother.
Then on the way gone we had a blowout on the camper. We had to change it on the side of a very busy highway so that was terrifying. And the blown tire knocked a few wires and tubes off the bottom of the camper so now we have to fix all that.
I’m just glad to be home.

Today is my first day back after maternity leave so I'll be around here more, you know, working hard. The sitter has sent me the cutest smiley baby pictures, so H is having a good time it seems. I can't wait to snuggle him this evening.

I’m making a point to make one on one time for each kid, so I took my son to his favorite museum. We had a great day- I can’t remember the last time we did something with just the 2 of us. My daughter got some time with my husband, and I think it was good for everyone to get some space (including the adults.)

I woke up super early today and kept track of my parents while they crossed the border, then passed out and woke up with just enough time to make breakfast before I had to run out the door for Fs speech therapy. Came home and grabbed W and then we went to the campground to greet them. Yesterday was exhausting, and I have to continue tomorrow. We got an offer late last week to buy a house in a private sale (3 doors down from my best friend!) and so we've been scrambling to see if we can get financing to make it official. We've only seen pictures, but from what I can tell it has everything we want except for land, which is kind of counterbalanced by the proximity to our friends.

It was a chill, quiet weekend for me with the kids gone. I went to ikea on Saturday and spent the day at the pool with a friend on Sunday.
Today I had knee surgery. Not ideal but everything went ok.

We’re still on our road trip. Drove from Iowa to Omaha, NE to Kansas City and onto St. Louis. We’re planned to be home on Saturday but very tempted to cut our last stop and drive the 10 hours home Friday instead. Everything has been great but I think being out of travel practice and after going literally nowhere for 15 months, 2+ weeks on the road was too ambitious. We’re on day 12 and just hit 3,500 miles driven.

It’s Wednesday. I feel like I need to repeat this several times today. Also garbage is picked up on Friday not Thursday this week. I need an assistant to remind of these things.

She seems fine today. Thanks so much for asking. She has had a cold for the last 10 days. So when she started puking on top of a cold I immediately thought covid. So we went ahead and saw her ped. Her covid, rsv, and flu tests were negative. I think she might have just been choking on mucus and gagging which made her throw up? She went to work with her dad today so hopefully all goes well.

Glad she's doing ok! I am not looking forward to school starting again with relaxed mask requirements. UO(?): a masked school year was amazing (because most people weren't going to school sick and less illnesses were spread in general)

We've had a cold work through every member of our family for the last 2.5 weeks. It was our first illness since winter 2019. That was one thing about the pandemic I definitely appreciated.

Pretty sure we need the popular stamp for this one.
