Which movies would you recommend for a 5 and 3 year old? They've only seen Moana so far and I'm out of the loop on any newer Disney or Pixar movies. My 5 year old is pretty sensitive, so if you know of any that don't have a lot of scary/sad parts or that would be great (for example, I think Finding Nemo would be too upsetting for him. And Moana was ok but he was a bit scared of the action at the end).
They're going to my parents' to watch a movie this afternoon and I was thinking Wall-E would be good. Or would it be too boring? Or Monsters Inc.? I've heard good things but have never seen it.

My girls loves Monsters Inc and Monsters University. Cars is also fun and not too intense.
I’d agree that Finding Nemo and Finding Dory are too much.

Winnie the Pooh! I can’t remember what year- maybe 2011? The one where they go looking for the “Backson.” It’s very sweet and about an hour long.

The new Pixar movie Luca on Disney plus was really cute. I don't remember any scary parts. It's mostly about friendship.
The first secret life of pets was also really chill with no scary parts. The second one had a bad guy that scared the crap out if DD at three.
Dds first movie in the theaters was Ponyo which is a Miyazaki movie about a girl who is a fish. She was 3 and she loved it.

R (9) still has trouble with all the movies. #EmpathProblems
She does well with Wall-E. Trolls 2 (World Tour) is ok, but not the first Trolls.
She tried Luca and Monsters Inc. and had trouble with some parts.
Honestly, at the age of 4-ish, we stuck to PBS Kids "movies" from Wild Kratts that are ~45min long. Or Rescue Riders "movies"

Oh yeah Secret Life of Pets was a hit too. Like Sheila said, the sequel gets scary.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I made a list to keep on hand. It was kind of a bust this afternoon. I had told L that Wall-E was about a robot so he had latched onto that one and didn't want any others. So we started it and right away he had a million questions about why the Earth was covered with garbage, and then he got worried that the future was really going to be like that, so we stopped it. Then I suggested the Winnie the Pooh movie but my dad mentioned Ratatouille, so that led to N wanting one L wanting the other. So I took N home to watch Winnie and my mom texted me that L didn't like the opening scene of Ratatouille (apparently there's a farmer trying to shoot the rat?). He said he didn't want to try another one so they're doing something else.
We'll wait a while before we try movies again 😂
But Winnie the Pooh is a hit for N so far.

mintyblueair, my kids have already asked to be the Kratts for Halloween. Good to know I won't have to worry about fighting you if the costumes are in low inventory LOL.

Yeah, they might be the only kids who don't like the Wild Kratts! They're nuts about Nature Cat.

My kids will fight yours for them! DS1 is obsessed. They were supposed to do a North American tour in 2020 that was cancelled because of COVID. I should see if they’re planning to try again in 2022. It would be like the equivalent of the Super Bowl for my guy if he got to go.

Dd has learned so many random animal facts from Wild Kratts. To the point where I defer to her for animal knowledge instead of Google.
