I think we're narrowing it down to Connecticut, although we won't finalize things until the new year. Since it's such such huge move the plan is to do a short term rental first before buying to make sure we're sure about the area. But yeah, there's a town that is looking like a really good fit. I mean, nothing is perfect but at least I'm going to still have a Trader Joe's and a Costco close, you know, the important things. 😉 oh hello! CT is a small state so if you have any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them. I also know where all the best kid places/museums are. I will definitely be hitting you up for info, thank you!

Unless you're driving through it on 95, then it becomes a time vortex. this is the truth. and I am so jealous I shall live vicariously through you and your possible New England move and seethe in incandescent bitterness.

I would just like to thank you all for enjoying Wisconsin. a nearly lifelong resident and I still havent been to the apostle islands. I will say, the Zoltan style machine with Trump inside to tell who knows what (Alec Baldwin’s impression was only slightly better) next to what looked like a porta potty. It was both bizarre and perfectly placed?

Our puppy was spayed today. She's so droopy and I feel so bad for her. It's absolutely the right thing to do, but I hate how she's feeling terrible. My poor puppy.

Clearly you haven't driven through Pennsylvania PA lasts foooooreeeeeeeveeeeer on 81. But then again, so does VA. it baffles the mind to think my husband and i grew up 6 hours away from each other in Virginia just both right above north Carolina- just one straight line across Virginia. And we met in the middle lol.

You can pretty much get anywhere in CT in less than 2 hours. Even when I drove to Florida the states changed every couple hours.

elle did y'all ever pick a place to move? I was thinking about you recently and hoped that was going well. You can drive for literal days and still be in Texas. It made me think of this. There were variations of this shirt when we vacationed in Alaska. Attachment Deleted

I don’t usually do anything like this, but… It’s been hot, and humid. I’m a hot hot sleeper and now I have a splint and cast and the whole nine. We got a wool mattress topper and no joke, it’s the best. Cools us right down at night. Wool.cools.you.off. I am also confused. Anyway, they are having a massive sale right now, and if you are a warm sleeper, it’s amazing! www.thewoolroom.com/

In college I made the drive between SoCal and NorCal at the various holidays all the time so anything under 8 hours isn't that bad of a drive to me, ha.

This will be so weird but very welcome, lol. It's seriously so nice. People get so used to it though and then bitch when they have to drive more than 20 minutes to anywhere. I live in an area that's like 35 minutes from everything so I don't mind the drive, but people get so cranky about it.

Please add both NE and KS to the “horrible to drive across” list. ::yawn:: I just did the NE drive. We have learned to hold out for Kearney for longer stops. Otherwise we panic and get subpar gas station donuts.

I think I’ve only done it maybe 5 times from the Bay Area and some trips only one way because I flew one way. I think H and I are the only ones rooting for that high speed train because we would totally take it. I’m used to the drive north to OR now but when I first started doing that I wanted to die. I am a very long car ride person though. Podcasts have helped but I really have to think hard about doing anything over 4 hours.

This is just a place for some word vomit so apologies in advance. I feel like I am drowning in my own brain. My PTSD was manageable before the pandemic, I had maybe one or two nightmares a month and my triggers were low. Since March of last year, and also being diagnosed with PPA, my brain is a wreck. I have been having 15-20 nightmares a month (my therapist has been having me track them) which leaves me struggling to get out of bed every day and just not wanting to live in my head anymore. I am so tired of living like this. Not in a suicidal way, but it makes me feel like I'm missing out on the joy I could be experiencing instead.
My therapist is about to try a new sleep therapy regimen for the next few weeks with me to try and re-organize my common themes in my nightmares to see if I can eliminate or reduce them again. If that doesnt work, I might ask her to try EMDR (she is trained in this) with me. I am at a breaking point.

Hugs willow. I understand truly how hard it can be when sleep is not where it should be. I have to periodically reset my sleep with trazadone to help me. It's so hard.
