Tart cherries, I have 2 quarts. My husband wants a crisp. Ive never worked with cherries.
Who has a tried and try recipe?
Also, I made carrot greens pesto. Much better than expected, though I may have put too much garlic in.
Plus I have tiny apricots.
And I’ve forgotten how much I love kohlrabi. My dad always grew a few and cut them up.
Garlic scrapes? How should I use them?

Garlic scapes: Use them in most places that you would use garlic. They're great for pesto. I sell a scape pesto made with scapes, goat cheese (or feta), cashews, lemon juice and olive oil. They're also good in stir fry, kind of like green beans. If you can't use all the ones that you've got, cut them into bean lengths and freeze them for later use. Just know that they can get stringy in the freezer, so after freezing it's best to use them in a place that you're going to chop them (like pesto). Cut them when they're frozen.
Cherries: It's best to have a pitter (which many stores have this time of year), but you can also cut them in half and pit them like you would a freestone peach. It will get messy. After they're pitted, cut them in half if you haven't already and treat them like any other crisp fruit. My vote would be to pit all of the apricots and cherries, toss them in a little maple syrup, flour and vanilla. Put them in a greased casserole dish, top them with your favorite crumble topping and bake until golden. I can give you my favorite crumble topping, but it's kind of haphazard and definitely not a precise recipe.

You can also pit cherries with a stainless steel straw.

You can also pit cherries with a stainless steel straw. I have silicone straws… We’ve been eating so many cherries here I decided it would be nice to have a cherry pitter. Then I can give some to F. F likes to swallow everything (gum? Why do people keeping giving her gum?). Side note, I do not like beats. How should I make them so that I might enjoy them? The one time I had them they tasted like dirt. Help me like them.

Roast them to bring out the sweetness. Peel, slice, olive oil, s&p, roast till soft and juicy and bits of brown. Then cool to room temp serve caprese-style with chèvre, basil, and balsamic.

Beet cake is a tasty thing too, but I like beets. MH thinks that they taste like dirt and will nominally tolerate pickled beets, but I've never found anything that will cover up the flavor enough for him.
