What's up in your world this fine Monday? What is in your cup?

7am presentation. I hate introducing myself…
I have a 9am meeting and then the same presentation at 9pm.
Also eye appointments for the older 2 and soccer for the younger one.
I need to send a baby picture of E, wash sheets, and cleanup the house slowly. We were traveling this weekend so I didn’t get any cleaning done.

It has been raining nonstop for DAYS. And I just discovered wet carpet in my basement. Id' like to put some Baileys in my coffee now. What Detroit looks like right now

Oh, I got my Overtone this weekend, so I might do that tonight.

I love my basement, but I also hate it. Do you think it was a pre-existing issue and you can go after the previous owner? Also, I thought I was going to wake up to your second picture today. It was pouring at 6am.

The basement ceiling and drywall shows no water, the downspouts and gutters are clear and pointing away from the house and there is no pooled water. The only thing I think might be related it the A/C unit. Yesterday was the first day I used it since moving in and it's on that side of the house. IDK - I'm annoyed.

Could the water be coming up through the foundation because the water table is so high? I live on a hill, but right after I bought my house we had such a torrential downpour that the water couldn't drain away fast enough and came up through my floor. In those situations it's usually a matter of getting some pros to seal things up.

I plan on calling a basement waterproofing company this week to come take a look.

Yuck rhymeswithdisco! What an annoying thing to discover right after moving into a new house. I hope it is something minor.

Last week was super busy for us because we had friends in town for the week, then some family over the weekend. So much eating great food and drinking delicious drinks and socializing, I honestly loved it. This week is much more calm - J is getting a hair cut tomorrow at a salon, the pup is getting a much-needed groom later this week. I'm not sure our plans for the holiday weekend yet but it will involve some fireworks and hanging out at the pool and beach.

Hello! Dinner is in the crockpot and I’m 3 cups of coffee in. It’s just another week here. I need to start organizing pics for a photo book I’m making.
We need to find some fireworks to attend next weekend. We will also go to the pool.

I'm still waiting on the coffee pot to be done and making fried egg sandwiches. I NEED coffee this morning, it's just one of those "everything is going wrong" mornings. On my list for today is now apparently washing the kitchen floor since the dog decided to pee all over it and it's super sticky and smelly. I'd also like to wash the blankets in his bed but not sure if I'll get to it. If it stays clear one day we're going to go with the neighbors to the splash park. Thursday we're having a BBQ with our friends for (a subdued) Canada day, and I have to get my house in decent shape because my parents are (hopefully!) going to be here on Monday.

Back to work after a week off, which is kind of a bummer. I didn’t have my preferred creamer for my coffee (grocery delivery is this afternoon), so I grabbed a bottle of iced coffee. I usually switch to cold brew in the summer, but I kind of enjoy drinking my travel mug of hot coffee at my desk in the morning, so I may stick to that for awhile. Tonight we’re closing on the refinance of our house. The bank is sending someone to sign the documents to our house, which is super convenient. I’m taking this Friday off because I have to work next Monday (it’s my holiday to cover this year), but I still wanted a three day weekend. rhymeswithdisco, I’m sorry about the water in your house, I hope it’s an easy fix.

Hi! We’re almost to ND, our 8th state since Friday. The girls are being so good and loving the road trip. We’ve had a few minor meltdowns but stops of playgrounds and picnic lunches seem to be helping. Heading to our 2nd national park tomorrow afternoon and excited to have a day with tons of time outside.

The older two had camp from 9-3 then D had baseball practice at the same park as the village pool. So the other two swam while he was at baseball, then he walked over to join us. I love small town living. We spent 3 hours at the pool. I'm beat.

ovenrack does having central air now ever fill you with the desire to kiss your thermostat? Because I'm getting that urge daily now that I am also living that life. What a glorious thing.

Indeed. And all my friends and acquaintances with AC who are super stingy with it - you know, it’s 80 and they’re all “it’s fine! It’s fine!” Well, I’ve had the bills come for several years, and I know they’re not great. But yeah I am certainly not turning off my AC until it’s in the 70s, thank you. I love it. I loooooove it.

The humidity is why I love it. I can set mine to 76/78 and it makes a huge difference because it’s not 80% humidity in the house.

Hi! It has been raining for 6 days straight. Not all day though, thankfully. I picked up extra shifts and have three more before we head out on Sunday for our first camping trip this summer. I have a to-do list a mile long so I’m trying not to get overwhelmed and take it one day at a time.
