I got this "sweet cream" creamer that I've been enjoying in my coffee lately. Had that and pizza for breakfast lol. We might go look at some houses this week - I'm actually being an adult and contacting people about the programs that are available for first time home buyers. There are two that we're interested in, both in a neighborhood literally across the street from hubby's work. One is larger and cheaper and needs work. The other is smaller and more expensive but fully finished and move in ready. Either would cut our housing expenses in almost half. I also finally met our new neighbor today, she's got 3 kids (an almost 1 year old, a 4 year old, and a 6 year old) and I've been wanting to say hi, but I was being awkward lol. They were outside today when I was out with F and the little boy was throwing a bowl at his sister and I told him he should probably stop. He went and told his mom and she came out to say thank you and brought some freezies and then all of the sudden the kids were playing and we were chatting for an hour lol That's so great! Making mom friends IRL can be so hard.

I had a hot cup and and then an iced coffee earlier. J turned 7 yesterday so we celebrated him all weekend but mh had to work yesterday so we continued the celebration today with some mini golf, comic book store, and out to lunch. At the beach, obviously. Tomorrow is the last day of school and we have a low key week until the weekend, which is jam-packed. We have a hospital fundraiser on Saturday and I need to find a "business beach casual" dress to wear before then.

The coconut bra and a tasteful skirt were what I was thinking. Good call on a blazer to put overtop! When MH told me that was the dress code I was like "wtf is that? Is that a thing?" LOL. I asked my neighbors because I'm #new.

As a former Floridian I would say that business beach casual would consist of a sundress or skirt and nice breezy shirt with sandals. Chinos and a short sleeve button down or golf shirt for a guy. A woman could probably get away with palazzo pants and a blouse too (just going off of the sorts of things my parents wore to functions lol)

My spine metrics report came back way faster than expected so they had results for me at my appointment this morning. It's incredibly detailed down to the exact angle of each vertebrae vs what it should be and it's full of charts and graphs of just how much each one is off. It was noted that I have very severe, severe, and severe biomechanical abnormalities in my cervicle, thoracic, and lumbar spines. Fun times. More exercises. I'm going to have beefy arms by the time we get my spine lined up better.

That is wild violajack! I hope you can get everything straightened out as best you can.

It is wild. I mean, I didn't think much of it until I saw xrays. My lower back hurt a little and wasn't getting better, then I tweaked a thing in my shoulder, so I called a chiropractor. I can look all around, though I admit I noticed a grinding sound in my neck, but I figured it was age combined with decades of playing viola. I can look up at the ceiling just fine. But then I saw the xray and my neck literally does not change. It's stuck nearly straight no matter which way my head goes. And that has implications all the way down my spine as the rest of my back changed to compensate. The pain in my lower back is my lumbar curve being stressed compensating for the lack of proper curves higher up to keep everything sort of balanced over my pelvis, which is also slightly off kilter. I also list to starboard a bit.
But the chiro said this is just what happens. I'm about middle of the road in terms of the cases he sees. He described some really jacked up spines he's seen from auto accidents and folks dragged in by injury attorneys. He said he likes to set the bar low when talking about how much we can straighten things. He aims for progress knowing he can't "cure" things completely. Looking back, this is likely from some combination of being rear-ended 3 times in 2 years back around 2006-2007 followed by going straight to gigs or hours of teaching right after being hit because I couldn't afford to cancel a day of lessons or miss a rehearsal. I was rear ended while driving the rental I had when my car was in the shop from being rear ended. So, now my report says "multiple findings of a sudden impact injury" and "multiple sites of ligament injury." I'm sure those things would sound really impressive in a lawsuit 15 years ago. If only young broke me had any idea what had really happened.
The good thing is, functionally I'm fine. My lower back just starts to hurt sometimes and this is only the second time in my life it hasn't gotten better on its own and required chiropractic intervention. I'm so grateful for a chiropractor that insists on xrays. It's crazy how the body protects itself and compensates. I have so many mixed feelings about the whole situation and I'm still processing a lot of it.
I showed the xrays to my husband (they sent me home with a CD of images) and he freaked out (appropriately). Maybe I can get more help with the dishes now.
