Not a confession, but I’m so happy it’s Friday.
Testing is done.
And I am seriously side eyeing a coworker that obviously didn’t pay attention to our training. She didn’t even know we had more than one application to test. (News flash I mentioned the multiple applications in each training session and the links in each powers point which were sent to all trainees).
Any beer o’clock starts at 3 with some friends!

I want to order a fabfitfun yearly subscription. But I also want to stop spending money. Plus I really need a new pair of running shoes…

I actually have one this week... Since S and I are going nearly a month without seeing each other (which hasn't happened since college), we found a secure app for texting (so nosey kids can't access or see previews), and we have starting sexting daily. I've never sexted before, and I'm enjoying it way more than I thought I would. Definitely keeps the spark alive while we're apart.

Also I love that my sports bras have more than one hook (3-4).
I washed them in the washer a few times and some now have 1-2 messed up hooks that done clasp.
I still wear them.
I should probably fix them with a pliers.

We turned off the add blocker because it was interfering with our Hulu streaming.
Tapa mobile is now beyond annoying with the ads. Clearly I am not that great at scrolling when on mobile.

I emptied out my shower yesterday to deep scrub it because my grout needs re-done and there was some growth. Maybe that's a confession in itself. Anyway. We all use this shower, despite there being 2 other showers in the house, because it's huge and I can physically stand in the shower with the kids to wash their hair without getting wet.
I counted how many bottles of product that are in there.
22 bottles. Plus 2 bars of soap, a razor, and 3 scrubby things. It's a goddamm apocethary in there! Half of that stuff is my kids'. The rest is mine and mh's.
Now that we are swimming in a pool so much we have separate "swimming" shampoo/conditioner/spray, both me and the kids so this is contributing. But still. That's a fuck ton of bottles in one shower.

And E’s hair is so long and thick and tangly, but P’s is so fine. We all need different things.

They have these powder packets for various things and I think they really work. I have the blonde, the swimmers, the hard water and the scalp therapy. I use them once a week, alternating different packets each week.

Ooh here is all kinds of a confession. My kids are supposed to spend a week with my ILs this summer. Technically, we really need the help since we don’t have child care for the summer. And also they ought to get to know their grandparents. It only seems fair. They stay with my parents frequently and have since they were 6months. And they did manage to keep mh alive till he left home.
But here’s the thing. I legit straight up 100% don’t trust them. They aren’t kid people. I’ve never seen my FIL interact with a child. They also work full time (own a retail business.) I don’t think they are responsible or safe. The one time I left E with FIL, he put her in a car seat, but didn’t attach the car seat to anything. He also offered P an oatmeal cookie at 8am within 5 minutes of me explaining that was allergic to nuts, oats, and dairy products including butter. They are dirty and their house is gross. They have no concept of what kids can/can’t do at certain ages (buy the kids age inappropriate toys and such) and also are just weird and hang out with a certain type of people. And they have dogs that jump and bite at my kids.
But I’m a bitch for not wanting my kids to stay there.

Ugh tj you’re not a bitch. I had one set of grandparents that I was never really alone with. I only stayed there overnight once when I was like 11-years-old. I saw them all the time but my mom was always there because my grandparents were def not “kid” people.

More light hearted confession… I’m at work. And I’ve clocked out. And I’m not doing any work. I’m just… not going home.

This isn't really a confession, but I called my cell phone provider today to cancel a stupid extra charge for a tablet they sold me 2 years ago. The tablet turned out to be a huge POS and basically unusable so I haven't used it at all. But it's always this huge production every time I call to change or cancel anything so I was expecting them to be obstructionist. Well, 45 minutes later they talked me into keeping the tablet with a drastically reduced charge, which also allowed them to reduce my monthly phone charge, plus a $5 monthly credit, plus $25/month for a brand new phone (which I did want, but I chose the Google Pixel 5 on the spot and am now wondering about that choice), but they are going to charge a $45 fee for upgrading the phone over the phone instead of through the app, which is fine because doing it over the phone allows them to give me a loyalty price for the phone which more than makes up for it, and on and on and on. And I hung up feeling taken advantage of somehow, even though if I understood correctly my monthly bill is going to be almost half of what it is currently. I feel like a pushover and I hate that feeling. There have been a couple of other things lately that have made me feel like that and it's bothering me.

On the plus side, MH finished work early today and took all 3 kids to the park so I'm relishing some alone time. I'm going to read my book for a while before I start supper and I may even pour myself a glass of wine.

I have a couple: 1- My husband hired a group of college kids to paint our house. So every day this week when I come home there are 4 or 5 guys in their early 20s up on ladders, and it just started raining so their clothes are soaked through. All of the ladies in the neighborhood have been conveniently “going for walks” past our house more than usual. *For the record, I am not harassing these kids who are young enough to be my own kids- just asking if they need water or the restroom or anything. Not sitting on the front porch with popcorn and a big glass of wine.

#2- My husband has gone past cautious and into paranoid territory with COVID precautions, probably because he’s been teaching remotely for most of the year while I’ve taught in person all year, even before being eligible for the vaccine. I’m fully vaccinated and so are all of my school colleagues (and my husband) which I’m sure about because we all helped each other to get vaccination appointments when we were finally eligible, to the point where we were reprimanded by our superintendent for covering each other’s classes so people could look for and go to appointments on school time. (We rolled our eyes and kept helping each other.) Friday we had a going away party for a colleague who I really like. My husband picked up the kids and I allowed him to believe it was a sheet cake in her classroom kind of party . It was actually a get together at the local bar kind of party, with my fully vaccinated colleagues and nobody else. It was the first time I’ve been out without a mask since March 2020, the scientists say this is safe for vaccinated people, and I didn’t feel up for an argument and resented the idea that I need his permission to do something that scientists say is safe. My kids and I are religious about mask wearing, and I happily wear one for 8 hours a day at school. It felt great to socialize with my school friends, and I have no regrets.
