I want to replace my entry light, hall light and dinning room light.
Possibly my front porch light (it’s been damaged).
Where do you shop?
I want a flush mount for the hallway, chandelier (I may want a closer mount), entry way could be a pendent or tear drop shape.
Overstock? Home Depot? Other?

We usually do Lowe’s or Home Depot for flush mount.
One thing I like to do for lights that will be a focal point, such as chandeliers, is to look at more expensive places like West Elm, Lumens, Pottery Barn, etc for inspiration and then search discount sites for copycats. Some of the discount sites can be high-volume and may be difficult to search through, so it helps to know exactly what terms you’re looking for.
Overstock, Wayfair, Lighting Direct, Build.com, Quality Discount Lighting, and Lamps Plus are sights I’ve purchased from before.

We've always bought at Home Depot or Rona, but I'm looking at Wayfair right now for our bathroom light fixture. I love the lighting options at West Elm but have never bought anything from them.

I have purchased from Shades of Light, West Elm, and trusty Home Depot. Focal lights I'll spend more, for basic flush mounts I try to find the least expensive option possible that still matches my style.

Can I ask a lighting question here? Would you guys put an LED light in a bathroom, or is it too cold/institutional?

Our main bathroom has 4 possible switched. 1 is for a night light (love this for the kids and when I was pregnant). And I like all the light I can get. So maybe look into a secondary light that isn’t as harsh?

I'm talking about vanity lights that have integrated led lights, so they can't be changed out, it's like a bunch of small lights wired directly into the fixture. You can't choose the colour and they all look like they produce blue-leaning bright white light.

I like warm light for the rest of the house, but maybe blueish light for a bathroom is ok? I only ask because my favourite fixtures in terms of looks are these integrated LED style ones lol.

mintyblueair, I'm super picky about the type of light that is cast but I also love LEDs. I don't see the color temperature indicated on any of the links that you posted, but I always aim for something with a color temp in the 3000 range. High CRI is important to me too, as high CRI light things up in their natural color (which is nicer for pictures and regular life). I always aim for a CRI above 90. Here's some info on color temp: And CRI

My cannery had THE WORST lighting when we moved in. I called it death lighting. Everyone would get slower and slower as the day progressed. I felt like my brain was folding into itself if I spent too long in one of those rooms. It was a life changing experience when we got it switched out.

Here's some info on color temp: And CRI The second link said it was 3000K which I think would be great for a bathroom. If you do your hair and makeup in the anthropomorphic (wait, what autocorrect? That is supposed to say bathroom?), I think 3000k would be a warm neutral. You wouldn’t want the blue light in there. The light with the circles, which I actually quite like, didn’t say it’s K, but the reviews called it very white and very bright so that would be concerning to me. And no, I had legit never seen these. The more you know. Edited for the fun typo, and also to clarify that my bath room is actually 4000k, and I like that brightness for makeup.

I usually get daylight led bulbs. But my house has horrible natural light. And I agree, I find this provides great lighting for makeup and inspecting kids nails and various injuries. I hate warm light. I always feel like I need to squint to see anything.
