I may not be wearing a swim suit in public this summer, but I really need to belong here. I’ve fallen off the wagon bad, and I need to kick my own butt back into being healthy. Let’s start moving!

I’m back here too. It’s been a rough year. I look and feel awful. Both are terrible, but when I feel awful I don’t sleep well. When I don’t sleep, I eat a lot of junk. It’s a terrible cycle.

I’m having an awful muscle spasm in my neck/shoulder again. Every several months like clockwork. Trying to just do a stretch and breathing routine this morning to help loosen things up.

Yoga at 10:30. Need to try to get in some squats or planks or something. I pulled out my old small dumbbells and have been trying to work on my arms while working from home.

I did not have a drink last night.
I need to figure out some fun drinks for evenings that will help with hydration. Maybe some cold brew teas. I will get on this today.

I've been doing OK. More walks with the kids since the weather is nice now. And my goal has been 3 work-outs per week but I've only managed about 2. My left wrist hurts whenever I have to get into a hands-and-knees position so it's been kind of slowing me down since all of the videos I do involve those positions. I guess I'll have to try a brace.

Yesterday I did yoga, then upper body weights in the evening.
Today I walked 2.5 miles at lunch, and a total of 24 flights of stairs today. Also 100 squats and 100 calf raises.
No alcohol and no sweets. I would like to completely cut out packaged foods, but I’m kind of a sucker for healthy-ish granola bars. I’ve been trying to choose fruit or nuts instead when I’m feeling snacky.

2.5 miles and 28 flights of stairs, 100 calf raises and 200 squats yesterday. At 7am yoga right now, hoping to do upper body weights again today.
Edit: lol, 100 squats, not 200. Jeez!

Thanks tj.. I do some of them, but will add the others in too. I have found one single comfortable position, which is laying back on my Bosu disk. Might just have to sleep like that tonight. 😆

Might just have to sleep like that tonight. 😆 Then you might want to try lying long-ways on a foam roller and put your arms out like a T or like a cactus. 3 sets of 30 seconds. Also roll up a towel and stick it inside your pillow. Put it under your neck while you sleep like this (and a pillow under your knees.) And please don’t tell me you are a side or stomach sleeper. If you are, then that is your problem.

I didn’t do upper body today. But. I talked to my PT about my IT band that has been bothering me. She suggested strengthening my glutes to lessen the stress on my hip. So I did 100 lateral leg lifts and 100 clams per side. And rolled the heck out of my quads and IT band. It feels good right now, but I have a feeling my booty will be sore tomorrow!

20 minute walk, 10 minute row.
Yogurt for breakfast with strawberries, pb2, and a little granola
Turkey burger on a light slaw with cilantro dressing.
Yasso bar for a treat
Protein water for a snack.
I will be good this week.

I got up at 530 to walk with a couple neighbors before mh left for work. I kind of loved it and am going to try to make it a weekly thing.

Sunday I sort of did barre in our pool. Just a bunch of leg lifts barre-style and stuff. Monday I walked 2 miles at lunch, 20 flights of stairs, chest and shoulders (light weights), bridges, side lunges, calf raises, leg lifts, clams.
My current plan is keeping up with my regular schedule of 2-3 days yoga and 2 days walking/stairs, but also adding in something small and easy at home like light weights or squats or whatever. Trying to build back some of my lost muscle.
BUT….. I think we’re going to buy a smart bike. I think we’re looking at the echelon.

I’ve noticed I start the day really well & then right at the time of DS2’s evening tantrum I go off the edge and start stuffing my face with junk food and/or alcohol. It’s like a direct correlation with the screaming & my eating.

Yesterday I did yoga in the morning then barre-stuff in the pool in the afternoon. I didn’t move as much as I should have throughout the day.
Today I going to attempt my old muscle conditioning class. I don’t know how much I’ll be able to do or if I’ll be able to do it at all. I’m pretty nervous. But I’m going to give it a shot.
