Can I ask a stupid question here? Do we really want all those jobs back? From what I understand the majority of jobs that were lost during the pandemic were minimum wage service/retail/restaurant jobs someone would traditionally take if they needed a second or third job. If wages increase they would no longer need the second or third jobs. Which would mean that we don't get back to the numbers we were at prepandemic. Which would be a good thing, no? Because it would mean that people no longer need two or three jobs to just survive.

I did see that hourly wages are up 2% in this last report so thatās better than down I guess.

Jobs just refers to the number of open jobs available. If you have people underemployed jobs looks great. Jobs.

Although cynically, I could point out that 2023 would line up with the very early part of the 2024 election cycle. š

(I hope.)

Well weāll know in .05 seconds how big a āwitch huntā that continues to smear the dear leader then. Cuz neither of them can a resist a camera/news show and b keep their mouths shut. The amount of vitriol they spew will tell us how damaging the testimony is

Curious to see how well this works... When I lived in Georgia there was a drought and the governor suggested praying and rain dances. I tried to educate as many people as I could in water conservation but no one seemed into my āyellow let it mellowā ways. š¤·š»āāļø

Popping on for a fun fact about this - Gordonās pond in henlopen state park is where they were bicycling. There is also a beach in the state park here and it happens to be known as the ālesbian beachā as thatās where a lot of lesbians go to the beach in Rehoboth. Rehoboth is a very gay town and thereās also a gay beach (off of queen st). I love and miss Rehoboth beach.

There was a full spread in our paper today about them being here, and there was a picture of POTUS hugging a 4 year old girl at our favorite beach and I literally screamed "that should have been M!" (my 4yo girl) to my husband. I told him I wanted to drive over there yesterday to just "be around" and he thought I was insane. Well who is insane now, husband?

Today was not a great day for democracy.
China cracked down on observation of the anniversary of the massacre in Tiannamen Sq, new video of Roman Protasevech was released from Belarus that definitely appears to be a hostage video, and Nigeria appears to have banned Twitter within its borders.

jaygee, I just saw this on the morning news. Hard to tell from a quick clip, but the flight attendants and passengers seemed to be really, well, heroes in stepping in so quickly and averting what could have been much worse. I just don't know what to think of all these occurrences, or how they can be effectively dealt with to ensure the safety of other passengers and crew.
