Will WH condemn police brutality in Colombia? Jen: basically no, not in those terms I wish he would. But also the US has lost all credibility to condemn police brutality overseas.

Last question is about myocarditis in a small number of minors who have received the mRNA vaccines. Jen says that there's not evidence of a direct link and that the risks of Covid are greater so, vaccinate your kids.

But did POTUS bring a Peleton? There was a whole thing about this in January bc it connects to the Internet. Last I heard they told him he could still use it but had to put the videos on the TV or something like that.

I missed the conference, but to clarify this point in case anyone is concerned: The rate of teens getting myocarditis is the same as a regular year - they aren't seeing an uptick, but they have to research into anything that is reported as an adverse reaction. We dealt with something similar a few months ago with appendicitis. It could be something, it could be nothing.

The articles I read about this strongly cautioned against reading much into it.

6% of adults had at least one dose on Inauguration day, it is now over 60%. Daily death rates are down by 85%. is this nation wide or just DC? Because reports I see keeping saying 49% in US, which does seem low. Or 60% of those eligible?

This is from the CDC Website. 61.5% of adults have at least one shot, 49.4% of the total population. covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#datatracker-home

It's crazy that most of the trucks that USPS uses now have been in use for decades. I was actually in an accident with a mail truck a few years ago. My car crumpled and the steel on that truck didn't budge. It's probably still running today like nothing happened.

Gordon Sondland is suing Pompeo and State bc they're refusing to pay his legal fees Every time a story like this comes up,, all I can wonder is what on earth people thought would happen working in Donal.d Tr.ump's administration 'The complaint alleges that Pompeo told Sondland that government lawyers would not be made available to represent him but that if he hired his own counsel, his attorney fees would be covered by the U.S. government. Top aides to Pompeo also acknowledged this commitment, the suit alleges, but “everything changed” after Sondland delivered his testimony alleging a “quid pro quo” and then refused to resign despite a request from one of Pompeo’s most trusted aides, Ulrich Brechbuhl.' www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/pompeo-lawsuit-gordon-sondland/2021/05/24/c93f1862-bc23-11eb-9bae-5a86187646fe_story.html#click=https://t.co/fEejegeAGmYes- one thing regardless of whether you think Trump was justified or not - it is WELL KNOWN he doesn't pay his bills if he doesn't want to. Duh.

POTUS was briefed on Belarus; He yelled at Russia about it. Administration strongly condemns these extreme, brazen acts and demands an international investigation. There were Americans on that plane. Can you imagine if one got hurt (intentionally or not). Like how easy that would be to start a new war... Not with Belarus but Russia.

We dealt with something similar a few months ago with appendicitis. It could be something, it could be nothing. Anecdotally, it seems like we’ve seen way more appendicitis in the last 15 months. With slightly different presentation than usual. Usually kids get R sided abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite and fever. They may not get all those symptoms, but those are the common ones. Now we have kids coming in with only R sides pain. My daughter included. They almost had to postpone her surgery because she’d eaten 2 cookies just before we decided we’d better get her belly pain looked at sooner rather than later. It was the afternoon of Christmas Eve 😂. Also not sure there’s a link, but we have actually seen an uptick in new diabetics. I’ve read some articles recently backing that up.

We saw our pedi for the first time since before covid and she motioned to DS’s BMI curve and said “yeah, pretty much everyone’s looks like that this year”. She also said she telling everyone (kids and adults) to add vitamin D this year because of the lack of natural sunlight exposure last year.

Yeah, nothing to do with vaccines, but is there a link to Covid or to reduced exposure to germs d/t masks and distance learning? I’m throwing darts here, but the next 5-10 years of research will be very interesting. I’m volunteering to give vaccines at my daughter’s middle on Thursday. 🤞 we get a lot of kids wanting vaccines!

Interesting. DS (8) had his check up last month, and his curve was similar. Gaining more than usual. I was slightly concerned, just because my mom's side of my family has weight problems, but it's interesting that it's an overarching thing. We tried to keep him fairly active at home, but maybe I am underestimating just how much he moves at school.
