If anyone wants a new show to watch, I highly recommend Rutherford Falls on Peacock. The first three episodes are free and after that you need to get the premium. I did the 7-day free trial so I could finish the season because it's so well done and thoughtful and funny. I also now have a large crush on Michael Greyeyes.

@dctolondon, sorry about your little guy - hope the fever either breaks quickly or you can figure out what's going on soon. richard, I keep seeing ads for Rutherford Falls - I'll have to put it on my list. I have Peacock through Xfinity. Right ow just finishing up Resident Alien.

richard, maybe check? I know there's a zillion shows available to me, but there are a few commercials per show. I spent part of the winter watching all the old eps of the One Chicago shows. Also Psych. www.peacocktv.com/xfinity

Otherwise, I just say, oh, Resident Alien, and it takes to me Peacock and that show. Or I say Peacock and it shows up. Very integrated and a nice little 'free' add on to Comcast/Xfinity IMO. Xfinity X1 just integrated Disney+ as well. Kind of handy although I pay Disney+ directly since I've had since it rolled out.

Does anyone have experience with dyslexia? My little one is in the process of a diagnosis. It's not entirely unexpected, given how hard it's been for her to learn to read.
We have a good plan in place, but I'm looking for ideas on what it all might look like assuming she is dyslexic.

I’m definitely feeling a spike in anxiety the last week or so, and it’s probably at least partly due to doing more things out of the house. I made a therapy appointment for June and I’m like, so excited, lol. I’m sure therapists are going to be extra busy in 2021. Which is a good thing because it means people are getting help, but I’m sorry for everyone also suffering. 💖

I think the first day went well! She is jazzed about going back tomorrow. She likes having breakfast and lunch in her classroom and seeing her friends in other classes at recess.

She’s insanely busy, always has been, but she said this last year has been absolutely bananas. My dad is also a therapist and he has had to start turning away potential clients because of how busy he is.

Playing the team with the MAGA hat wearing coach. If he comes up to my kid for a high 5 (they are supposed to stay on their dugout side, would it be inappropriate for me to tell him to GTFO and keep his hands to himself? I mean, it would only be if the coach doesn’t manage it, as per the rules and as requested.

I mean, it would only be if the coach doesn’t manage it, as per the rules and as requested. Seems like the coach didn’t handle it last time and they all high-hived last game right? So I would probably give some kind of heads up to your coach before it ends up inevitably happening, and you have to be the one dealing with it. Edit: Well I’m 3 hours late, but that’s what I would’ve done. Yes, high fived last time. Spoke to child’s coach about heading it off before happening at next game about this specific team and specific coach. Said I preferred he handle it or I would speak to league. Happened again today. Spoke to league contact and they will reach out to coach. Also requested follow up in order to “ensure I level set expectations around this rule”. I may have mentioned not needing to know a coach’s political leanings and knowing this particular coach’s wasn’t making me feel any more comfortable having him in my child’s face.

We have a good plan in place, but I'm looking for ideas on what it all might look like assuming she is dyslexic. I have a close friend whose son has dyslexia and she took him to an Orton Gillingham program after school a couple days a week for like a year and it was a night and day difference in his reading jump. There are a lot of great resources and fonts out there now which is awesome

I'm on a reopening planning team at work and it is rage inducing. How so? I was just watching local news - rush hour traffic picking up, mass transit starting to rebound, some festivals coming back with modifications, Chase & Goldman Sachs scheduling return to office, etc. My town just opened up the meeting room rescheduling portal for residents' use for in person meetings. I can only imagine the headaches the logistics people are going through to accommodate everything. I just returned to my sports facility last week, first time since March 2020. Front desk said they were seeing an influx of people coming in. It's half exciting, half scary.
