Anyone watching? It's a crime drama with Kate Winslet on HBO.

I watched a few minutes last night but my H was in a chatty mood - I figure I'll pick it up again when he's not around. I really want to see it after hearing from others how good it is.

I am watching! I really liked the first episode. The second episode veered into "The Killing" territory for me - where it got a bit outlandish/far-fetched. But I'm going to keep with it.

The only thing I know about this show is that it was filmed near Philly.
Well, also that they dressed the characters after sitting in a Wawa and looking at what people were wearing in line. RUDE, HBO.

RUDE, HBO. I really like it. The accents threw me because I thought they were trying too hard, but by episode two, I was like, actually....that's exactly what people from Delco sound like!

I have it on my list to watch. Is it good so far? There's only two episodes out so far but I think it's very, very good. So far it's your typical small town murder/cop show, but the acting is very good and the story is interesting. I'm definitely hooked. It is like The Killing. We're also on the first season of that and I'm worried I'm going to get them confused they are so similar. But I think the acting/story is better in Mare.

I'm dying to see this but I'm waiting for all of the episodes to be uploaded so I can binge it. I hate how HBO still does episodic tv! Haven't we moved past this?? lol.

I'm super into this since it was filmed in my area (film crews set up in our closed down K-Mart parking lot for a couple of weeks). I think everyone is nailing the Delco accent. Kate Winslet is excellent as always. I almost didn't recognize David Denman (Roy from The Office) as Frank Sheehan.

The end of episode 3 went in a direction I was not expecting as did the preview for episode 4. I'm now hooked as it seems to be getting more complicated beyond Erin's murder.

I watched the first two episodes. I only watched because my friends are so insulted about all the comments about them studying blue collar people in Wawa to make the show. But, I like it so far. Also the Philly accent seems to come and go. Short of Tina Fey, people really struggle with pulling it off in movies. And Tina is local so...

Some of the actors are really leaning into “hewm” and “begel”. But I’m always impressed when non-US actors can master our regional dialects. So props to Kate.

That’s so funny. I thought a few times Kate was messing up her American accent and she was doing it on purpose to sound Philly. I heard the water but didn’t know that is how they say it there.
