I'm glad for this episode and it felt like it wrapped it all up in a tiny bow. Kate is angry she didn't leave angry Jeanette didn't see her to tell the police, and now is taking that anger out on her. That is very, very messed up if that is it. It does make me wonder if there is more to it and who Annabelle is.
Also, I wonder if Mallory has a copy of the tape of pranks? That would've interesting if it later comes out with video evidence of Kate being in the house starting from x day.

Binged and caught up. I like how they are handling the grooming and not showing any kissing/sex scenes to glorify it.
One thing bugging me is the screen name traumarama79. I assumed 79 would be a play on birth year, but she would have been born in 77. I know, because this is literally playing out in sync with my HS years and it's a bit disconcerting sometimes. 🤣

Don't click the spoiler if you don't want a reddit theory that I think is going to be right! {Spoiler}Reddit noticed the closed captions saying there was a sound of a card flipping in a bicycle tire when Kate was looking out the window after Jeanette left the house. But in the first episode, we see a card in Mallory's bicycle tire, not Jeanette's. So the theory is that Mallory was following Jeanette and that's who saw Kate in the window. It would also explain her ending up with the snow globe even though J and M aren't friends anymore. Maybe she followed Jeanette and they had a conversation.
I actually hope that's it because I don't want Kate to be doing this to Jeanette, knowing she didn't actually see her. I feel so bad for both girls.

I must have missed that, I only noticed kisses on the head and hand touches and such. I did binge so it's entirely likely I did.

There was one kiss right at the beginning of the montage, when they were playing hide and seek. I think they did it really nicely too, though, without showing them having sex and making it look steamy and fun.

I've been eyeing Mallory for a while and it does seem suspicious how she became friends with Kate after she returned given how much grief she gave Jeanette over Kate. I agree with this theory and it ties in about the music box more.

Nicely done show. It could have been an overdramatic teenyboppers series that felt contrived, but they way they split it up, wrapped it up, yet twisted back up without an obvious S2 cliffhanger was good.
I need to rewatch to catch plot holes, but I didn't see any!

Brilliant use of Disarm (Smashing Pumpkins cover) and Creep (Radiohead) in the last scenes. Love those songs. Off to build a 90s playlist now!

They wrapped it up so nicely and explained everything that it was a great ending. I wonder if they did that if it wasn't renewed for a second season or if it's a one and done show?
I am kind of glad my theories lined up after a while but Jeanette was too calm when talking to Kate. After all she had been through, after all the pain...she didn't feel anger to Kate at all? It made me suspicious at how calm it was and wrapping up especially with Jeanette helping Kate go to the basement and remember the last of it.
My biggest thing was why didn't Mallory say anything? Or was she just wanting to see Jeanette get in trouble that she didn't care to report Kate being in the house? It just feels weird that she kept quiet.
The ending did throw me off. I didn't see Kate and Mallory together at all and then the last scene with Jeanette, wow! That explains why she was so calm and not so angry. Jeanette is a liar. I wonder if anyone will ever find out.

I liked the finale!
I'm glad we got the answers unlike a lot of these types of shows. The last scene was definitely good. Jeanette never seemed confident in her innocence claim. They tried to make it seem like she was hiding just how often she broke into the house, but it felt like more than that and the ending makes sense. I think she was so calm during her and Kate's talk because she finally had confirmation that Kate didn't actually see her. Before that she really couldn't be sure, which is why things like the random voice-mail Jamie got freaked her out so much. She didn't know Kate's real side of the story yet.
As far as Mallory goes, I do think her explanation makes sense. She couldn't say what she saw without exposing Kate's lies and she chose to protect Kate over Jeanette. And I'm actually not at all surprised by their ending.

Also, I did read that the show has been renewed for a 2nd season. I wonder if they'll stick with the same story and/or characters or go the American Horror Story route and give us a whole new cast and mystery. I do feel like this 1993-1995 story arc is closed, so I'm interested to see where they take it.

I was reading an article last night with the producer or something that they haven’t began writing season 2, but he said not to be surprised if they do come up with a whole new set of characters.

I really enjoyed this season and loved how they wrapped it up.
I hope they don't ruin the story with a bad second season. I'm liking the idea of a whole new cast/story.

Oh man, that was such a fun ending! Even if they hadn't put that last scene in, I think I still would have enjoyed it as a good wrapped up ending. The last scene just made it a little more entertaining for me. Also seconded really hoping we get new storylines next season, I think this one is fully done.

And I'm actually not at all surprised by their ending. I agree with how calm Jeanette was at the end makes sense now due to her now confirming Kate didn't see her and saw Mallory instead. So now, she was able to continue to lie that she didn't know Kate was there (per last scene of the show), and get the fame/popularity/attention she had wanted. I had to read elsewhere into Mallory's explanation since I don't know why I missed parts of it (I think I dozed from staying up late). It does make more sense now. She just saw the back of Kate, and didn't really connect it was Kate until later so she didn't want to say anything to contradict Kate. I was surprised at the ending of Kate/Mallory, I didn't see it coming but I'm glad Kate was able to move forward with someone she could trust.
