I have a new Mazda CX9 that I will run into the ground, but I honestly preferred my Jeep Cherokee. I wish I wouldn't have traded it in. So my vote is not Mazda. What don't you like about it? I've never been in one, but from the outside they're cute! Honestly it's very picky stuff. I HATE that there is no info on low air in the tires, and the oil change light is based on time, not whether or not I need an actual oil change. My Jeep would pop up with a thing and tell me which tire was low. The Mazda just has the low tire light. My Jeep told me mileage and a percentage until my next oil change, and the Mazda oil change light will come on after 3 months, when I've only driven 1500 miles. It drives me batty. Besides those things, I love it. It drives nice, the inside is roomy, and it looks good. It just pisses me off I paid more for a car with cheaper features.

We just bought an Acura MDX and love it. We were a Honda family forever and ever, but couldn't pass it up. It does have a Honda engine, which helped sway us.If we didn't want the 3rd row seating, we would have looked at the RDX as well. An Acura is a fancy Honda. It is the exact same car. Don't worry. You have a Honda Eta: sorry that wasn't supposed to be snarky. I'm just laughing that you went out of your comfort zone with the fancy Honda!

I have a GMC Acadia Denali and it is my favorite car I’ve ever had. If you want something smaller the Terrains are really nice

I have a Mazda CX-9 and absolutely love it. So much trunk space when the 3rd row is down. It's worked really well for our family of 5. What really sold me on it is that it drives/parks like a car rather than a truck. Some of the larger SUVs we test drove were so much harder to park!

The MDX is an excellent option if you’re not worried about 3rd row size. Beware that there is no 2021 model and they completely redesigned the 2022. Because of this you can likely get a really good deal on a 20 if you don’t mind having an “older” looking model in a year.

We bought a Honda CRV last year and love it. Before that we had an Odyssey and also loved it. No complaints at all, it has so many bells and whistles (apple car play included) and it great on gas and in the winter.

My dream list, which is based on looks only, and is totally unrealistic because we don’t need a second car and already have a boring paid off Subaru, is:
Mercedes GLA Alfa Romeo Stelvio (these are so hot. And Italian!) Lexus UX hybrid (we had a CT200h which was similar and I loooooved that car)

I drive what I call "the fancy Pilot" with basically all the bells and whistles, but its still a Honda. I do love it and its a good car to have while my kids still destroy things.
H recently got a Tesla and is unbearably obsessed. He got the Model Y which is sort of a crossover situation. I made fun of him, but it is very cool.

My H has only also had Hondas. It really simplified our marriage 😂 This is me with exception of my very first car which I didn’t pick and my most recent car. I love Hondas for ever and ever.

I would go Lexus in this situation. Specifically the NX unless you need the size of the RX.
I have also always longed for a Volvo but i actually never love them as much as I think I will when I test drive them.

I don't know about in the U.S. but in Germany any VW is basically guaranteed to run for a long time with minimal issues. But the Atlas isn't sold in western Europe so I can't speak to it. I liked my X5 but I very much enjoy BMW's handling and a lot of that relates to driving on German roads, I don't know how much it would matter to me in the States. I feel like a Volvo is always a really good bet and is probably what I would go for.

You got a new car?! What you get? Brux, I second the Lexus suggestion, as you know. Lol you knew this! X5 Ohhhh I did know that. This past year has really warped my sense of time.

The car we talked ourselves into over drinks this weekend is the Infiniti QX50.
But I'm reading a ton of complaints about how the transmission is really annoying, so I'm going to pump the breaks while I look into some other beloved cars thanks to this thread.

I said Lexus to H this weekend and he rolled his eyes (like I said, picky), but both he and I have had lexus sedans and really liked them so I don't know what his problem is.

I love my Audi Q5, but it is a smaller SUV, so depending on what you need, it may not be right. But it goes very fast and I like that. It's an option for sure. I think we're leaning smaller SUV this time around. MH has had 6 or 7 Audi’s. He loves them.

I have a Toyota Highlander and I love it. We got it about a year ago and I am hoping to drive it forever. And I don’t feel that way about many cars.

I absolutely loved the Honda HR-V when I test drove it, but we couldn't get the monthly payment low enough for our needs at the time. But I looooved it.

It was side swiped pretty badly last fall and we weren't sure if it was going to be totaled and we were feeling at a loss of what we'd replace it with. Fortunately it was saved, but I think we'd probably have tried a UX.

While not in the high end or luxury range I’ve always loved my Kias. You get a lot of extras like Car Play and heated seats as standard for less than other similar cars. We used to have a Sorento and loved it, and the Telluride looks really nice

We are a Subaru Ascent family and I absolutely love it. We have the 2019 which I think was the first year for it (bought at the end of 2018). We have had zero issues. We did get 2 calls about warranty stuff which annoyed me but they were all fixed for free. My mom has the Mercedes SUV (not 3 row )and I absolutely love driving it. If I wanted more upscale and the 3rd row wasn't important I would definitely get it. But for what we wanted....a car that would last a while with everyday use, 3rd row, captain chairs, and safety features, with a reasonable price point the Subaru Ascent has been fantastic.

My H has a Toyota 4Runner and I have a Honda CR-V. Love them both. I don't drive the 4Runner except in an emergency because it's taller and bigger than I'm really comfortable with, but I'm in love with being a passenger.
The only downside to the CR-V is that I'm on my 4th windshield. Something about the shape/thickness of them makes them more vulnerable, according to the glass guy I took it to.
