Tlex I'm so sorry. My district was getting ready to go back full time but now we're spending this week fully remote because of an outbreak and full time plans have been scrapped. People are so mad but idk what else there is to do. I know your situation is different but it's all so frustrating

So how do you people feel about tent camping with a 5MO and a 4YO over Memorial Day weekend? 😅

I just got back from having the dogs’ nails trimmed at the vet. Apparently the puppy was so bad they now recommend I drug him with trazodone every time I take him. I know it’s what we have to do right now, but I really wish I could go in with my dogs. They would be far less anxious

Our provincial government is so fucking inept I’m on the verge of crying. I don’t know why because this isn’t new. Yesterday at 1pm Minister of Ed confirms schools will reopen next week. Today at 3:15 pm the Premier announces schools will not reopen and are in fact closed indefinitely. I’m so tired and feeling like we’ll never get our shots. A giant punch in the gut today. My dad is trying to be all optimistic (“Summer break isn’t that far away!”) and I told him to read the room. If only we weren’t in this exact position last year and we’re nowhere near close to getting vaccines.

I just made it to the front of the queue! im absolutely shocked that after waiting in line behind 53,000 other people I managed to book a spot in Banff for August, and they had a ton of sites available.

This will be happening with their dad and not you, correct? Because if that's the case, then I'm a strong yes. Otherwise, I am a very very strong no. 😬

I have salmon and asparagus in the oven. I started making couscous in the rice cooker and it’s a game changer.

You’re a seasoned camper. You can make it work and have fun! The big kid was around the same age when we first went camping with him. It was honestly not hard at that age. We’ve had much much worse camping nights with him as a toddler.

So how do you people feel about tent camping with a 5MO and a 4YO over Memorial Day weekend? 😅 I love it for you! I may be more inclined to go tent camping if I had ever done it before. It seems very overwhelming for two adults who’ve never been to try to do that with a 3.5yo. I’ve done the cabin with no/poor electricity, one bathroom for everyone type thing from spending time in Colombia at my aunts farm growing up and at the national park of Caño Cristales in Las Macarenas a few years ago on a sister hiking trip. Can do it but not my #1 choice for lodging during a vacation trip.

Where are you going? I'd also like a pool by the beach. And a hot tub. But I'll take what I can get! Crater Lake in Oregon. We usually don’t go that far for camping but our friends are doing a whole route and we are meeting them at this stop. Plus it’s an hour from my family so we will stop to stay with them on the way there. It’s supposed to be wonderful so I’m sure I will love it. I've never been, but I love flying over Crater Lake while going too and from Portland or Seattle. I

I am one with STP on the camping thing. MH is dying for an RV, but a vacation where I share sleeping space with my child and can hardly turn around in the bathroom sounds like the opposite of fun.

Even though it’s 30° and snow on the way, I made a shrimp, spinach, strawberry (and other yummy stuff) salad for dinner. I’m just pretending it’s 70° and spring. 😩😩😩 They still do t know for sure what we’re going to get. Snow? Rain? Slush? Mystery!

I’ve had worse camping trips without kids, actually! Lol Oh yea, last minute camping on Labor Day weekend in the White Mountains. We ended up in the overflow camping area and there were people partying very loudly all night. 😐
