I love tent camping. We go twice, every year. It's a nice, fun, relaxing getaway. But my absolute MAX is 3 days. After that i need a shower and my bed and wifi.

I've only camped once. It was in a tent and all, but there were facilities there with showers and whatnot.

I will say the poo pumping is not that bad*
*DH does it lol
But ours has a water flush all you have to do is put a tube in the sewer hole and and pull the lever. Then the water level to flush it out. lol but full understanding that it is not for everyone.

We took the boys riding at a local track (practice not race) and another kid cut me off in a turn and I crashed. Now I have a pretty nasty bruise inside my thigh, a few smaller ones around my knee and somehow a bruise on my boob. I'm wondering if my handlebar did get me in the boob. The ones on my leg just blend in with all the other bruises on my legs that I'm not 100% sure where they came from.
Then R was supposed to have a race yesterday but the track was absolutely ridiculous. No drainage at all so there were "mud puddles" that you could lose a kid in. We didn't even make half of a practice lap before his bike started over heating because of how much mud there was with no straight spots to be able to build up speed and clean out the mud on his tires and stuff. So we pulled him before he fucked up his bike. We weren't the only ones to do that either. Even one of the better kids in his group was having a lot of problems, which was telling.

Oh my gosh. I feel terrible. My H just told me friends of ours are splitting up and I immediately messaged the wife saying I'm thinking of her and sending lots of love and always here for her.
But now I hear no I wasn't supposed to say anything to her and the soon to be exes are fighting about it now. So much for trying to be a good supportive friend.
Next time I will ask multiple times before contacting either party.

I want a camper so bad. A lot of other race families will show up the night before the race and camp out. The furthest race is like 2 hours from us but it still seems like fun and would be a way for the kids to get to know the other kids. Maybe next year.

And the fight probably has less to do with you and more to do with why they are splitting.

I enjoy camping but we recently upgraded from a tent to cabin rental and well... let me tell you how much better that is. We still do a night or two in a tent every once in a while but I highly prefer the cabin situation now.

We also found this amazing cabin at a state park; but it used to be the workers' cabin so it is super far away from everything else on its own little peninsula right on the lake. It's hard to get reservations for but we are going next month during the week. If it were a cabin super close to other people I'd be less excited.

We’ve been tent campers for the last 10 years but this summer we’re renting trailers. I’m excited to have a private toilet and shower to use. MH really wants to buy a trailer, I’m onboard but I keep repeating with what money?? So for now we are renting

If you do end up buying new in the future keep in mind that they treat it almost like a mortgage (over 20 years) so the payments are pretty low. That's what we did on our pop-up originally and it was like $75 biweekly. We ended up paying it off in about 5 years anyway but nice to have the flexibility of a low payment with a good interest rate. I was honestly really surprised that they do it that way.

We spent a lot of time last summer researching which trailer we’d want.

The wife and I used to be very close until they moved away a few years ago and these are friends we've vacationed with and my H has known the H since childhood so I was just trying to let her know that I'm still here just for her. But the timing was just off. I'm hopeful that in a few months we can reconnect.

Have you secured a rental yet? Everyone I know who is trying to buy this year is having no luck and prices are racked up. It’s crazy.

I grew up deep in camper camping.
One set of grandparents owned and RV and took my siblings and I on weeklong vacations each summer to exotic locales, like Dollywood or any number of public cave systems that bordered Ohio.
My other grandparents owned a camper on a permanent lot at a campground about an hour away from our house. My great grandma had one nextdoor. My parents would take us out there most weekends in the summer. I'd pretend I was some type of queen surveying the temporary weekend campers as I rode my bike around the grounds. There was a community barn where they hosted Bingo and live music and a big lake for swimming. My grandma was somewhat of a horseshoe legend.
It was like a Middle Class Midwest version of the Catskills.

It’s crazy. we’ve settled on the Geopro 19BH or 16BH. 21’ is our max length and there’s only 3 of us so don’t need a lot of space. We’ve got rentals for the weekends we have booked so far, git them through RVezy.com. I heard there’s a massive shortage of stock to buy this year because people went crazy buying them last summer
