Oh and Clandestino by Manu Chao. I saw him at Prospect Park in 2007 and the show was amazing and we were all high and happy and dancing and sweating and then it started to pour and he broke into this song and everyone danced harder and got soaked and even happier and if there was ever a moment that encapsulated my 20s...that was it.

Oh gosh. So many.
Without Me, Dirrty, Ghetto Superstar - club songs from university or earl 20s.
Bon Jovi’s classics - these were like sing alongs at high school parties.
Specific scenes: Offspring’s Come Out and Play - watching TV and eating a snack after swim practice in high school.
Matchbox20 - Hang: one of my first concerts
Tragically Hip - both Bobcaygeon and At the Hundredth Meridian weren’t huge favs of mine until we saw them live on their farewell tour and the whole experience is seared in my brain now.
Adele - Someone Like You was on my h’s playlist for a road trip to Tofino when I was pregnant with DD

James Taylor - Carolina in my mind. I first saw him in concert at 4 years old, listened to him so much growing up.
Amy Grant - especially the Christmas albums, every year decorating the tree to her songs.
Enya- my dad’s favorite, during road trips.
Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Cats - all the old school musicals, all the time, singing my heart out when I got my driver’s license (yes I was extremely cool as a teenager obviously).

Bob Marley, CCR, Crosby Stills et al, Patsy Cline, and Journey—all bring back fond memories of my parents when they still liked one another. They divorced when I was 16 but had been unhappily married for years prior.
Bush, Glycerin—activities with a boyfriend...when I was far too young for said activities
Cake-always makes me reminisce about HS and college in particular
Most TX country artists remind me of my H. He doesn’t even really enjoy the music, but our first couple of dates were at outdoor concerts.

Black Betty by Ram Jam will forever remind me of dh because he loves it.
Blackbird by the beetles because we had a friend play the backing music on his guitar while I walked down the Isle at our wedding.
Fat bottom girls by queen reminds me of my dad.
Anything by Buddy Holly reminds me of my mum.
N_Trance set you free and Jamiroquai virtual insanity will always and forever remind me of my college days.

Blueberry Hill - one my earliest memories of my Dad is snuggled up in his lap while he play Fats Domino on vinyl, belting this one out (my Dad is completely tone deaf so the simplicity of this song allows him to sing along with gusto).
If by Bread, is permanently affixed to my Mother. Are as Carol King, Simon and Garfunkel and James Taylor.
For all the Canadians in the room, Patio Lanterns by Kim Mitchell is forever and always my summer song with my best friend. One summer, everywhere we were drunk, this song would come on and would make us giggle and sing along. I can’t hear it without texting her.
Bush, Gylcerine - always reminds me of my best guy friend in high school, he introduced me to it and it was just his favourite. Before we settled into a beautiful friendship I was deeply crushing so I listened soooooo intently and regularly.
Night Swimming by REM. They were my fav in high school and a few us drove to the US to see them in Michigan. And it was such an amazing show. But they didn’t play Night Swimming and we were all calling for it in an encore. Didn’t happen, so as we were waiting to get out of the parking lot my buddy blared it on his car stereo. And then lots of people around us cheered and we all started singing it. It was beautiful.
I have soooo many more. Music has been so important in my life. So much is connected to it.

Any and all Grateful Dead attaches to my oldest brother forever.
Living on a Prayer reminds me of my sister. She is 10 years older than me and I just thought it was so cool that I got to listen to her music sometimes.
Unforgettable will always remind me of my mom, though it made her sad.
My grandfather would always sing You Are My Sunshine and if I try really hard I can almost still hear his voice.
Sublime's 40oz to Freedom reminds me of living with H (and his friends ) in my early college days. I always play this album on the first nice day with the car windows rolled down.
My dad used to play vinyl records and dance around the living room with me. Herb Alpert, Harry Belafonte (especially Jamaica Farewell), and Albert Hammond's It Never Rains in Southern California come to mind.
My other brother used to sing Tiptoe through the Tulips when he got out of the shower.
Oh and how could I forget Swept Away (Avett Brothers). I used to sing it to DS when I was rocking him to sleep. I hope one day that song reminds him of me

I could do this for pages, but that came to mind immediately were
Hey There Delilah (Plain White Ts); very popular when my H and I were early into dating, reminds me of him always. Slipping Through My Fingers (ABBA); my mom used to sing it to me, and as a surprise, requested it at my wedding to dance with me around the room. I bawled like a baby. Scenes from an Italian Restaurant (Billy Joel); because of the great love of my 20s.

Any Patsy Cline song brings me back to when I was a broke college student so instead of a big spring break trips I went with my mom to visit her siblings that wintered in Arkansas for two years in a row. 3 out of 4 of those aunts/uncles are no longer with us and I'm thankful for the memories those trips gave me.
The Battle of New Orleans reminds me both of my dad - a Johnny Horton album was one of the few cassette tapes he'd play on long drives; and also of Ireland because somehow I ended up behind a microphone leading our group in song as we closed down an Irish pub. The locals seemed to appreciate that that song was about fighting the bloody British.
Strawberry Wine - brings back fun memories from high school
White Rabbit - my oldest sister would sing this at karaoke back in the day when we'd have girls trips and smoke in the bar.
And any Dolly Parton song reminds me of our road trip to TN with the in-laws, the kids request her all the time which I think is the sweetest.

Music has always been a big part of my life. My dad had over 200 records and would play them a lot.
Forever Young by Bob Dylan will always be the song that will put me in any memory with my dad. He printed the lyrics for me for my high school graduation and had it framed. He set it up to be sung for me at his funeral and I now have walked down the aisle to that song.
You-Jesse Powell ended up being our first dance song but it also takes me back to the year that was one of the hardest for us after dd was born and then we finally got a night out for H's work and we danced to this song because he requested it and told me that it was for us and that we can get through it all.
90's country and Usher helped me through high school
