I still refuse to believe that Stephen Miller and I are the same age. He’s at least 55.

Guys, I know I'm not great at math BUT IBR/IDR wasn't even a thing until 2009. You need to pay for 25 years. That puts you at 2034. The 20 year loan forgiveness programs didn't start until 2014. Which puts those people at paying also until 2034. Last I checked its 2021. www.forbes.com/sites/zackfriedman/2021/03/14/only-32-people-got-student-loan-cancellation-2-million-didnt/?sh=440837b01352They're talking about it here. Looks like it goes back to 1995? An income-driven repayment plan—which first became available to student loan borrowers in 1995—bases your monthly federal student loan payment on your discretionary income, family size and state of residence. There are four types of income-driven repayment plans: Income-Based Repayment (IBR), Pay As You Earn (PAYE), Revised Pay As You Earn (REPAYE) and Income-Contingent Repayment (ICR). Here’s the promise for student loan cancellation: after 20 years (undergraduate student loans) or 25 years (graduate student loans) of monthly student loan payments, you can get student loan cancellation for your remaining student loan balance.
I know there was a version of this program available when I started paying in 2005. I don't think it was specifically "IBR" until 2009, so you're right there.

For instance, my mother had been paying her student loans for law school on an income-based program for 21 years now. She should have 4 years left. I guess we will see if this gets corrected. She's retired from her job now. She worked for the guardian ad litum program for the state for almost all of that 21 years, but didn't qualify for the public service kind of forgiveness. So she's paying her GD student loans with her retirement income. She's only 58, so she's decided to work again for a different branch of the government.
She is notoriously bad with money, life, and all things, so I'm guessing there's a 99% chance she did something "wrong" over those 21 years that will disqualify her from forgiveness.

What's the point of a law if it's never enforced? I think we witnessed four years of blatant ignoring. I hope the future changes this.

Jen has been talking for about 10 minutes but I've missed most of it because people feel the need to make me do what I get paid for or something.
I've heard questions about the All star game going to Denver and Jen patiently explained about how Colorado is different than GA in voting and like 98% voted by mail there.

Ok this makes more sense and is also what I'm seeing from a lot of people who had loans in the 90s where they were continuously pushed into forbearance until their loans far exceeded what they could pay. Also FUCK Navient for ever and ever.

The admin is supportive of that but further readout should come from Ukraine.

The US Govt/Admin does NOT support a federal list/registry of vax people. Thats on private business. We will just provide guidance on gatherings.

sheilathetank ICR predates IBR and it was a different system overall. IBR was a big deal because it included gradplus loans (or gradplus loans were just raiser to get?) if i recall correctly, which made more people interested in using it. The general issue is that if people weren't 100% perfect they didn't get forgiveness. I'm sure the numbers will go up but that's a shockingly low number for three years of potential candidates. And my experience has been that the servicer have no incentive to help us. So I'm not shocked.

The servicers only care about their money.

mathlete the only thing that surprises me about that is that it isn't gold. It's also bothering me to no end that the whole right side of his desk is cluttered with papers, and there's one little cigar-looking box on the left. If you're going for an organized chaos look, at least be consistent across the desk. And Miller's hair continues to run away from his face and it makes me smile. /troll
