I hear John Gizzi! I've been wondering where he is.
He asks if POTUS has called King Amman.
Jen responds that those types of calls, at this point, would go out of State.

Gizzi claims there's a memo circulating on the Hill suggesting that costs of some measures in the infrastructure package were left out of the cost projection and that it would actually cost $1T more than the WH says.
Jen says that sounds shady as hell and welcomes everyone to bust out their calculators.

Chad and Kaitlan are banging on about the WaPo fact checker fact checking POTUS on restricting voting hours in GA. I read the fact check. It was good clarity but what POTUS was saying does actually appear in the bill, just not in exactly the way he says it in the final text. He should stop saying it, but it's a mole hill.

It would be a dream if Biden got a memo that said he had authority to cancel all federally held student debt.
I would probably run naked out in the street. Ok, no I wouldn't. But holy shit that would be incredible.
(I know this is not going to happen. I just like to dream.)

It’s like thinking about winning the lottery, lol

I recently read that only 32 people so far have gotten forgiveness on income repayment plan. That's out of the 2 million student loan borrowers who've been paying for more than 20 years. 32 out of 2 million. Something's gotta give.

Because I definitely know it’s been more than 32 for PSLF.

There's all kinds of loopholes and lost paperwork, though.

if you're gonna just stick your head in your butt and not even offer 'good' alternatives, then sit down and let the grownups work.

I am clinging to my government job with a white knuckle grasp for the next 6 years until my 10 years in public service is over. I mean, I have no intentions to leave it then but I for sure have no intentions to even entertain the idea until then, ha.

A financial talk radio show DH listens to on Sundays was talking about how enforcement of current tax laws would be much more of a bipartisan solution than the wealth taxes proposed because right now the top 1% of the wealthy are skirting something like 20% of their taxable income, and the top .1% are skirting 40% because they can pay lawyers to find loopholes and evade taxes where they think they don’t get caught. Therefore, the rest of us end up paying more of the taxes that those cheaters don’t. And he had a stat that for every $1 spent in IRS enforcement yields $7 found, so it really should be a push to fund the IRS more and find the taxes that are currently due. This sounds like something my H would listen to. May I ask what show this is?

Guys, I know I'm not great at math BUT IBR/IDR wasn't even a thing until 2009. You need to pay for 25 years. That puts you at 2034. The 20 year loan forgiveness programs didn't start until 2014. Which puts those people at paying also until 2034. Last I checked its 2021.
