I thought the quickfire last week was really interesting, and OF COURSE Blais has the totally extra order.
Agreed the editing leads you to who will be the top and who will be the bottom, especially in the early episodes where the focus on one or two people is SO OBVIOUS.

I also miss the shopping scrambles. I liked the switcherooo with last week's episode - forcing people to work in pairs after they'd already planned and shopped. Some teams really killed it. And I said a big "awww!" when Maria was so happy to be able to speak Spanish with Nelson while they worked. I thought they were gonna make the teams swap ingredients! I liked the teams, and was happy for Maria and Nelson pairing up.

Mostly unrelated to Top Chef - I thought Tournament of Champions (I and II) was a Chopped All Stars series (like they've done before) so I didn't watch it. Well, after seeing the chatter here, I stayed up way too late starting it. I'm totally hooked. I hadn’t heard of this but just found season 1 on Hulu and am loving it so far!

I'm an episode behind, but I thought you fans might like to know this. I went to Seattle this past weekend and stopped at Chef Shota's restaurant Taku. Since reopening in May 2021 after covid shutdowns, it's a walkup japanese fried chicken spot with cocktails and jello shots. It was a fabulous dinner paired with patio beers.

I really like Shota and Avishar. They did a popup together at Shota's place on Saturday, but I thought it might be crazy busy, so we went on Friday for dinner instead.

brux, that is so cool!!! I want to get out to Seattle again someday (sigh) Of those left, I like Shota, Avishar, Maria, Gabe Erales, Sara, and Dawn. Really, I haven't been super disappointed in anyone being ousted yet.

I’m feeling like this is the best season yet. It’s not the chef cast as much as the progression of the challenges and the all star guest hosts.
Restaurant week’s chef table should be the way it’s done from here on out.
And I’m watching the home chef recipe making one and it’s just a fun way to take a new view of these fancy chefs and what they can do.

And is it just me or does Gail look fitter and younger than 10-15 years ago?

I always shrugged when the "famous" chefs were on other seasons and the contestants were all excited whereas was all 🤷♀️

I was really sad when my favorite person got kicked off. I cant remember her name but I refer to her as the yogurt lady.

If Shota gets the boot, I’ll be crushed. I think the rest of the chefs have little things that grate on me. I liked restaurant wars this year and the latest elimination challenge

I'm glad Sara is gone. I loved Shota's team and was happy they did well. I really like Dawn too.

I’m really loving all of the challenges this season - i feel like they (the shows producers) had to get more creative because of COVID and I hope they keep a lot of these things, especially the chef’s table Restaurant Wars. The recipe thing was great too - I loved seeing the all-star chef reactions to the recipes.
Maria and Shota are still my favorites.

Maria and Shota and Dawn and Gabe forever!! I really enjoy them. Shota's team for Restaurant Wars was so cohesive, there wasn't anything I didn't like about it - and I picture future seasons adapting the "hot pot" idea with all having a hand in a single dish to present to the judges. I freaking LOVED the chef's table restaurant wars this season. LOVED IT.
All caught up! Ok with Sara leaving, she did deserve it (and took a shot at Dawn for some reason, unnecessarily IMHO so what if her dish wasn't served cold?) but I could see her coming back from LCK.

I was bummed Sara went home, she and Shota are my faves, but I could definitely see her coming back from lat chance kitchen. I think Chris needed to go home that episode.

I think Sara will come back too. this has been a really good season! I started watching from season 1 (lol) in May and it is actually crazy how much the quality of the food has increased between then and now. Like it was childs play in the beginning.

beersandweirs, seems like they save Chris every week he's underperformed. I'm so curious about it!

I thought Sara was a good cook but her attitude was starting to turn me off. Did anyone hear the comment she made about "worldly" dishes or something usually not doing well on RW? It rubbed me the wrong way. She was also starting to annoy me with the yogurt and all the creamy white sauce on every single dish
Chris deserved to go home too. He just couldn't get any of his pasta dishes together.
Overall I really like this season and like that the "favorites" aren't just being kept even when they suck like has sometimes happened in the past

Work those recipes out at home, Chris, give us something else.
