I can't believe it has been a year. I also feel like Easter was just a month ago yet we are celebrating alone again. 🤷

I'm kinda in a funk about Easter this year. It's better because our town has activities planned for kids this year and I get to see my family on Sunday but I also remember how lonely it was last year and what the world was like. I think I really just miss seeing my friends and being more social.

If anyone is looking for KN95 masks, I just saw this front page Slickdeals that makes a 50 pack $18 with the promo code. I just ordered a pack for H and the code worked. Masks from Amazon-Click "6% Extra Savings" Box on product page -Add to cart -Proceed to checkout -Apply promo code L439X6LL in final checkout

Thanks ladies. Her temp is 102, runny nose and chills. They are checking for strep first and if it's neg then they will test for covid. Her throat is just a little red so I doubt it's strep.

It's strep! 🙌🏻 Never thought I'd be so happy for a strep diagnosis.

That is great news, nelzie! I mean not great she has strep obvs, but great that you can knock it out pretty quickly with antibiotics, and that it's not COVID. I hope she's feeling better soon!

I'm curious where she could have gotten it. I'm assuming preschool, they wear masks but I'm sure 4 year olds aren't always perfect at it. She's in dance once a week with masks and we went to the grocery store once with masks last week. This is the first time any of us have been sick in a long time.

My friend's 13yo was diagnosed with strep earlier this week and they have literally not gone anywhere except the hospital for routine testing in weeks. It sucks but strep is easy to treat, usually. I hope she's feeling better fast!

She is 12 and great about wearing a mask and at that time besides school didn't do much else.

I feel like strep might be one of those things that can lay dormant in your body for a while? Haha, I have no idea though. I'm getting super jealous up here in Canada watching friends in the US in my age group being fully vaccinated, I'm a month or two out from first dose still. But also happy for them!!

I think we have a lot of vaccine hesitancy where I am. They have walk-in appointments available often for those who WANT vaccines. seems like demand is low. I'm concerned that the J&J news will add fuel to that fire. I'm in WI, so we are right next to Ontario and Michigan, both of which are spiking, and Minnesota is going up, too. I feel like we're headed for trouble.
A couple of weeks ago, I was feeling great about outdoor spring soccer starting. Now I'm starting to feel nervous.

If people are worried about the vaccine clotting risk wait until they hear about the COVID clotting risk..... This!! I feel like every single news article on the topic should be required to share the relative risk between the vaccines and covid itself. Or even the vaccines and birth control, which has magnitudes higher risk of clotting associated.

Hi all, this is kind of random but wasn’t sure where else I could ask...
Anyone that has had Covid and recovered, does anyone have any hand pain? I have been having really strange hand pain lately, and they feel weak. Just wondering if it could be Covid related (Google tells me it’s possible?).

I have not had Covid but more and more research is cropping up about long term neurological impacts. I’d keep an eye on it and follow up with your pcp and then a neurologist if need be.

I will say, she has some issues due to tamoxifen side effects (she's a Breast Cancer survivor), so there was a preexisting tendency.

Everything is fucked here and I feel bad venting to my friends IRL about how depressed I am. So I’m just going to dump it here. I had to go to the hospital today to drop off samples for my urologist. The ER and chemo units are in the open air parking garage now. It was so chilly. People on stretchers in parking spaces. How scary is it to have an ER worthy emergency and be shivering on a stretcher in a parking spot? Or how neglected must you feel to have stage 4 cancer and be shunted to this overflow parking garage for your chemo? We have the emergency tent hospitals too. This was an extra level of bleak. It hasn’t made the news yet so I was shocked to see it. My friend working at the hospital told me they’re supposed to be positive when talking to the public. They’ve been short hundreds of nurses every day this week. The govt turned down help from the Red Cross today, and help from the military a few days ago. They don’t care that people are dying because it’s the working poor, immigrant, and BIPOC populations that are dying. 80% of cases are in 20% of postal codes. We’re on fire. The only way to get rid of our conservative premiere is if his own party votes non confidence and they are never going to do that, they love this. Big business is thriving. We can’t get goods deemed non essential in stores, everything is taped off. If you aren’t financially privileged to be able to order from online youre fucked if you need something that an old, wealthy white dude has deemed non essential. I haven’t told my kids yet that playgrounds are closed and they can’t even see a friend with masks on, distanced, for a minimum of 6 weeks again. Schools probably won’t reopen this year. The daycares are expected to shut down any day because of outbreaks. I don’t need sympathy or hair pats I just want to write it all out and maybe read it later when I’m wondering if this all really happened.

Tlex I'm just so sorry. That is a sad and very scary place to be even without the social and political injustices that are tied to those restrictions.
