I need to do touch ups. But I also think there is too much white. Option 1: keep the white who cares. Option 2: perfect greige I used on the walls with white trim. Option 3: you are crazy repaint it all in a more neutral tone. Help me.

So I’m thinking greige on the paneling to break up the white.
Keep the trim white.
I want to paint the walls in the closet, but is it silly to put greige in there too? Or should I go with a lighter grey or off white?

Also would it be really awful to buy some of those stick on laminate floor tiles to cover the retro laminate in the entry way?

Option 2!
And no, it wouldn't be crazy to peel and stick in a small entryway space

sarenu I always paint the insides of my closets the same color as the room but idk if that’s the “right” thing to do.

I think all white looks good actually, but a pale off-white/greige would also be a good choice.

Plugged in the color on the SW page and got these. Edit: I’m thinking Huron Plume. I may grab some paint chips tomorrow.

If you like the Perfect Greige and want it all cohesive then go with that! Otherwise Aesthetic White is a fantastic colour, too.

Went with aesthetic white. Panels are done, closet has one coat. I’m going to sand and start touching up the trim tonight as I work on a second coat in the closet. The laminate is another issue. How would you manage this? Remove the framing, the threshold has a seal? Can we just layer the a new laminate on top? Or do we need to remove the old?

Depends. Is it glued down solid? Or is it loose? Is there anything under it? Or concrete subfloor?

Laminate or tile can go right over that old laminate, especially if it’s level and no bubbles. I’ve also seen people paint their laminate and tile and it has turned out very cool.

I'd think you can still tile over them, but probably wouldn't want to put a sheet of laminate over them. If they're vinyl tiles they may contain asbestos.

Id be sure you put the adhesive everywhere then flatten/roll it as you put the new vinyl down then use the same framing for the edges. ETA: Google says so too.

Our house was built after 1960, so there’s only a chance the tiles are asbestos.
I also think the entry way may have been a remodel when they put in carpeting.
But we aren’t going to remove it.

sarenu those tiles from HD look fun! Yeah you could either do a new layer of tiles or a sheet over top.

Just make sure your door will still clear the height.

Just make sure your door will still clear the height. This should be obvious, but I would most likely forget to check. Just like we should have had the guys installing the door, do the floor at the same time. I’ll double check the clearance tomorrow.

Final question (probably not).
Since the vinyl will be one small piece (60 x 48). Can I just tape it down and put the trim back on?
I don’t think I need an adhesive.
And I checked, plenty of clearance on the door.

And I checked, plenty of clearance on the door. I would definitely use an adhesive all over the surface area or it will likely lift in spots with only tape.
