Before and after. We had the rock and shrubs removed. I planted: wheeping blue spruce, a little lime hydrangea, sedum, astilbe, prairie smoke, Liguria, hosta, rhododendron. Here I have a little arctic fire hydrangea, phlox, mini zinnias and China asters. Some allium in the back and I sowed some giant marigolds and zinnias.

So I'm very much not a great gardener but we do a veggie plant when we can - it's supposed to drop to 44° tonight - should we bring the pots/baby plants inside? It's been a couple of years and I can't remember.

It's been a couple of years and I can't remember. If they are in pots, I’d consider bringing in veggies. But we had 40 overnight a couple night last week. I didn’t cover or bring anything in, they had all been planted for a couple weeks and I figured they’d be fine. Everything survived, including annuals in pots. It did help that everything was thoroughly watered first.

We are going bring them in and hope this cold is done for the season after this. Thank you!

I’m giving up on tomatoes. The big babies. I’ve done everything I could think of, but only one plant produced. Even then, I only got one harvest. I’m planting more okra. It’s doing really well, and I didn’t plant enough. My chili peppers are doing great. My bell peppers look and taste great but they are small. I’m going to add Thai basil to my herb garden. I will try rosemary AGAIN. I don’t know why I can’t keep it alive. ETA: Attachment Deleted

overboard I find big tomatoes to be way too fussy for me. I pretty much only grow cherry tomatoes these days.

My zinnias are finally blooming, they got a late start d/t some landscaping we had done. I’m still waiting on dahlias (same late start). We’ve already eaten beets and baby carrots, and tons of herbs. tomatoes and peppers are growing but not yet ready.

Between my honeysuckle, scarlet runner beans, and cardinal flowers I have hummingbirds in the yard all. the. time. Today one hovered in front of the window and we just stared at each other for a bit. It makes me so damn happy.
