Well...my temp bridge fell out yesterday so I get to go to the dentist this afternoon. I’m going to be a big girl and do it without the nitrous. This morning a big even of getting recalled people back up in their devices. Exciting stuff happening.

chrisy01, that stinks! I hope the fix is quick. mwhip I read your update in yesterday's thread. I am so happy to hear your first day went well! klong11 I'm sorry about your panic attack. I am going to dinner with friends on Friday, inside, and I am expecting some level of panic.

Waiting on the bus. I have the extra kids today. I got hit with a migraine yesterday afternoon and spent the evening in bed. I think the drastic weather change and time change did it. I got alot of sleep last night though and feel good this morning. It's been raining since yesterday morning and went from 65 to 40 and windy. I miss the spring weather and evening golfcart rides.
Other than managing all the kids today, I need to meal plan and make a grocery order for tomorrow. Do not want to load groceries in the rain.

I don't think I posted this here but I posted on GD for recommendations for an emergency phone device. On Saturday we had a playdate. We met at a school playground and we let the kids run off into the small wooded area behind. When it was time to go we easily found the kids and we all walked back to the playground. The kids ran ahead. When we come out of the woods we see the kids and their bikes gone. His friends parents say they probably went to her house, which is only a couple of blocks away. Inside I am freaking out but trying not to panic. I biked around the front of the school to make sure they weren't there and then went to his friends house. There was no sign of the kids. Her dad and I took off on bikes to find them. As I am riding the girl's mom calls and says her daughter is home, she had parked her bike in the back. She told her mom that they thought we went home so they went home as well. For her, this could be normal since she lives so close. C has never biked further than a few blocks without us before.
At this point I am near breathing into a bag panic. We live about a mile from the playground and have to go on a pretty busy street with speeding cars to get back to our house. C and I have done it a million times together but obviously I am still concerned. I also thought he biked from her house and was worried he got lost. I called home and DH said that C just walked in crying that I am missing. When I get home he is still so upset. He said he waited for me at the pond on the way back and I never came. He must not have waited too long but I can't imagine how he felt. C also somehow missed that my bike was still at the school, parked about 10 feet from his, when he assumed that I left him and went home.
C eventually calmed down but I have been having nightmares about it since. I feel a lot of guilt but don't know that there was much I could do to prevent what happened. I can't help but think how easy this would have been if there was a way for met to call him, which is ironic since I just had a conversation with a friend about waiting on cell phones until late middle school. I don't think an actual phone is a good idea since he would lose it but I am looking at the Gizmo watch as an option right now. Our area is a real biking community where kids bike everywhere. I am not ready to let him loose but I would be open to biking him until we are off the busy road and having him go up to a friend's house alone, but I wouldn't do that unless I could contact him or track on GPS to confirm he was there.
At baseball the other night my neighbor's son, who lives 3 doors down, told me he saw C coming home that day and saw that he was upset and asked what was going on. He did the absolute right and mature for a 9yo thing and calmed him down and made sure DH was home so he wasn't coming back to an empty house and that there was an adult to help him. His mom was apologetic and said had she known she would have called me right away but she was out at the time. I do love that we have great neighbors.
Since then I haven't slept good and have been having nightmares about losing C. I am pretty tired today but it is nice so I am hoping to go for a walk and get some fresh air.

OMG wedding. I had seen your post on GD and meant to comment to you about how terrifying that must have been. but I am so impressed that C was able to take himself home and that is great that you have such great neighbors to help too. I have been thinking about how nice it would be to be able to communicate with S too. We live on a very busy street so we don't give him as much freedom but he is so responsible and I want to let him have a little more age appropriate freedom. Anyway, all that to say, sorry about the nightmares and lack of sleep. I hope they fade soon. And I think the Gizmo watch makes the most sense in your scenerio.

Welp, that was a novel. Sorry! That's so scary! I'm sorry both of you were scared and I think the watch is a great idea. I also agree that I don't think you did anything wrong or could of prevented it. It was just a big mix up on who was where. I hope sleep gets easier.

wedding, scary! I get nervous when our kids go to the neighbors (whose house i can see through the back yard) if I somehow miss seeing them make it to the front door. I can’t imagine a mile away! Our kids might be a little young, but my sister got her 10 & 11 year olds apple watches. She doesn’t want them having phones yet, but this way they can text and call and can be tracked. Spendier than some other options, but also seem more reliable.

My sister and her kids left an hour ago. It was so much fun having them here. I barely had to parent because her kids kept mine entertained, put them to bed, etc. It was amazing.
Now I'm cleaning up the ransacked house and doing laundry.

Hi hi. I have so much to do today, just trying to get caught up on life. I went to the chiro again this morning. I’ve decided it’s our bed that is causing my pain. It’s only 1.5 years old but we got it when I was pregnant so I was sleeping differently then and liked it. But I wake up so sore every morning. The bed we slept on on vacation was much softer and I had no issues. So I called tuft and needle (where we got out mattress) to ask about their mattress topper and they’re sending a free one! I’m so excited. They are like $160 to buy, so I feel like I’m winning. I hope it helps.

Glad things are looking up at the new job. mwhipwedding Glad everyone was safe in the end. I would have been so worried, too. slenle Score! Hope the mattress topper helps. I do like the idea of the Apple Watch, but yeah, not yet. Definitely have to wait a few years for that one because they are pricey. tgrimes Amazing.

Hi. We’re headed home. M’s practice tonight is cancelled because of wet fields, so we’re in no rush. We got a later start than I wanted because we got to go on base to check out where Mh will be working. Pretty cool to see all the aircraft.
I work the rest of this week and weekend and I’m not looking forward to it, but I figured I would take what I can get now. Once Mh is away, I won’t want to be as available as before because I’ll be solo parenting while doing what I need to for the move to happen this summer.

Maybe when he is older and can take care of his things better.

I never really wanted one, but this past year I have been thinking about it and kind of getting in to the idea of one for myself. Not sure if I’ll ever pull the trigger though.

Our firm only has 8 attorneys, 2 of whom "work from home". I feel like when 4 of the officing 6 attorneys go on vacation that staff should get that time off. This is absolutely ridiculous. The phone has only rung maybe 3 times today and its for the attorneys who aren't even here! Whatever, I'm basically getting paid to read at this point. I would just prefer to read in the comfort of my own home without shoes on!

wedding I'm glad C made it home safe, I would have been so freaked out! Omg with this house thing. Our agent has to put our house on MLS if she is going to talk to people about it, so Friday morning they're doing the professional pics. She's listing our house significantly higher than we expected because another house in our neighborhood got into a bid war last week, still higher than we were going to ask, and its smaller. Saturday she wants to hold a 3 hour open house and see what kind of interest she gets. It's being listed with a very long close, still waiting to here lead time on the new build. I know if we get under contract now, it will take a lot of stress off, but I wasn't prepared for this now. Our house is a mess, I would have spent more time cleaning, etc. Plus trying to figure out the dogs.

I haven’t contacted my realtor yet because I’m afraid she would want to list it ASAP and come to see it. My house is not ready for anyone to view it. I have so much to do, get rid of, box up before I want to show it to anyone- even the realtor herself. Hope it all goes smooth for you this week.

That is scary wedding. 2 of my sisters have had gizmos for their kids and seemed to like them ok. I was a contact on my niece’s and she always pocket dialed me, which was super annoying. The only thing is that you would have to make sure he has it every time he leaves the house. I’m pretty sure I would tell my kid they didn’t need to bring it with if we were going somewhere together like your situation. These are another option for you. www.target.com/p/relay-screenless-phone-walkie-talkie-gps-tracker-mint/-/A-54243564
