::bursts out of a pile of seed catalogs:: What are we doing in here? I’ve got a bunch of my early season seeds started and just keep adding things to my list that I most definitely must have and also don’t have room for. It’s all I can do for like 3 more months in our zone lol

Horse butterfly reminds me of the Wuzzles. I was just trying to explain this show to my kids a couple of weeks ago. I should have known YouTube would have a clip.

I shared this on IG the other day. I cleared out the 500 sq ft garden that the previous owners had let grow over. It was SUCH a pain in the ass. I really don’t want to clear out more because it’s back-breaking work. But also, it turns out it wasn’t enough space for us 😬

I want to have a small herb/tea garden so I can make my own tea blends. I need to get working on that. I've been Googling to see what will grow but haven't started anything else.

DH was thinking of taking DD1. The food truck line up did look good! My Thursday confession is that my 3 year old has seen and absolutely loves Jurassic Park, so we’re all going. She’s very pro-dinosaur and always roots for the t-rex, be it eating humans or fighting other dinosaurs. I’m so glad that they are doing it again this spring. And the entire ticket cost is donated to charity, which is pretty amazing. My 2.5 year old is obsessed with Jurassic Park/World 🤷♀️ She’s seen all of the movies and I’m just waiting for Netflix to call us out for watching Camp Cretaceous every. single. day. No judgment. Plus it’s really cute hearing her say all of the dinosaur names.

So now we’ll get to compare different types of carrots, turnips, kale, and peas. And as always, way too many tomatoes. 😂

Do we need to start a Gardening thread??? I'm going to be branching out from just annual floral this year, and would love a sounding board! I put together my first rolling composter, too. :geeks out:

We went to duck donuts this morning, and I can’t donut there, so thought I’d try one of those new brown sugar coffees from the Starbucks in the same shopping center. They were sold out!! And the next closest was sold out!!

All this garden talk just made me inform H it was time to start his garden. Lol. I don’t touch outside stuff but I just enjoy the benefits. We have a neighbor that has there garden in their front yard and we walked by yesterday and they had planted so that helped push him too.
I think we are doing tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, and shishito peppers again. And I tasked him with trying to figure out a better set up for herbs. We need something that is a bit easier to grab because our main planter bed is covered with a net due to animals.

I vote garden talk stays here. I’ll never remember to look elsewhere and I’m enjoying it. That said I took out 3 huge trees this week and while I’m going to replace one next summer I need to find something to fill the now empty space in my front.

Someone posted patio urban garden bins on GD. I think I’ll do a couple of those this year on the patio. I really have no desire to prepare an actual veggie garden bed, plus we get deer and rabbits in the backyard frequently, so I’d have to take a lot of anti predation measures.
I do want to plant more flowers in the front along our walkway. We’re definitely doing a butterfly garden, too.
