Hey guys. I’m acting brand new over here about some stuff. It’s been over 5.5 years since I last did this so I blurred out a lot of this.
I have my overnight bag somewhat ready. So far, I have nursing tanks, cloth nursing pads, some comfort pants, newborn size coming home outfits, general toiletries, swaddles? Some paperwork about my tubal removal. I’ll add more as I get closer.
This is what I’m acting brand new with. What type of pads should I get? I’m a cup wearer and mostly use pantyliners as double protections or on my non period days.
What type of pads should I get? The thick ones or the thin ones? I know people have used depends, but I just think the pads are a bit easier to deal with. Or am I wrong? Teach me how to woman.

i’ve never done the diaper thing because it just seems like so much more work to change a whole ass diaper. taking off pants and such is a nah for me. i went with thin night time pads. so they’re longer and more absorbent. the thick ones are just not comfortable to me and it seems like they really aren’t that absorbent either. i remember lining the thin pads up with tucks last time (yay vagina stitches) and it seemed like i was happy with that. i never did the pad sicle thing in the freezer either cause i’m lazy. maybe i should. someone let me know. 😂

I truly don’t remember what I used at all. Why did I block this? I think I’m going to get thin long ones because those regular size pads only cover 1/4 of my ass all the time. lol

I love the always flex foam pads with no wings. I just find all other pads super uncomfortable. I have had third degree tears with both my previous births so comfort is important to me. I use the tucks pads on top of the regular pads too and dermoplast blue spray if you do have any tearing helps. The first few days I have used the padsicles and they have really helped but after that it’s not really worth it. They melt and leak and you can’t really sit with them.

Definitely pads with no wings. After I used up what the hospital gave me, I grabbed some overnight pads from Walmart. I can share a pic. Definitely avoiding Always brand because taking the wrapper off exposes the sticky part and being able to adjust positioning as I pull my underwear up has been my goal.
If you're not dealing with stitches or having your crotch ripped apart, I dunno if you'd want to use Dermoplast/Tucks? I have zero idea how much the nethers hurt post-section, so I can't really speak to that. If you do need some kinda pain relief, I've never bothered with padcicles -- Tucks pads were just fine and basically the same thing anyway. And if you use Dermoplast, do NOT spray the red can on yourself. Blue only. Red would be full of regrets.
Other random things I brought to the hospital were my own hospital gown (because the provided ones are annoyingly large on me) and non-slip socks (same reason). Also, any blankets, pillows, or other comfort items for recovery, if that's your thing.

+1 to pads with no wings. I think I just got regular Always pads and they did the trick but I was not a super heavy bleeder. I should probably dig out the super high-rise underwear I bought PP last time, too, so as not to push on the incision.
One thing I wish I knew existed with my last CS was a belly binder. I remember on the drive home, MH drove over railroad tracks and I felt like my insides and belly wobbled for the next 5 minutes. Shudder. I made sure to ask the hospital if they provide them this time because I want one for sure.
