Spin bike should be here today. I have a feeling the first workout will be "setting up the spin bike."

I wish we had room for a bike or treadmill in the house... but let's be honest, at the rate I'm going I'd be using it as a glorified coat rack...

We have a HUGE garage, otherwise it would absolutely be a really expensive clothes rack. The house isn't small, either, but no great place inside for exercise equipment, so off to the garage I shall go. There's a window out there so it's almost like getting outdoors.

Today is day 4 sans sugar. I'm doing surprisingly well, minus the day 2 crash. I'm kind of proud of myself for not caving in to cravings. Every day, I feel a bit better physically and mentally. It's probably a sort of placebo effect, but I have more energy and my mind feels more clear. We've had sunshine the past 3 days, too, so I know that's helping some. Either way, I like the changes I'm feeling.
I am not doing so great about getting on the rower as I wanted. I actually set an alarm to schedule myself time to do it today. 2pm is rower time. If someone sees me on here, yell at me to get my butt in the seat.

Ls2012 what's your time zone, so we don't all yell at you over the course of several hours? 😉 I did a Whole 30 several years ago, and found dropping sugar surprisingly easy. By the end of the 30 days, though, I was having VIVID dreams about doughnuts, a food I don't even eat very often and never crave. It was so weird. Sugar can have so many psychological holds in a way most other foods don't really seem to.

This is probably a Cali weather thing, but a not small number of my neighbors have bikes in their garages and use them with the garage doors open. I know everyone who has a bike from my daily walks.

I thought of taking today as a rest day but now that I’m up I may do some sort of workout after work. Yesterday was limited in time so 15 minute Peloton ride and 15 dumbbells. I haven’t decided what I’ll do today yet.

Just took another walk! Going to follow it up with leftover pizza for lunch, but baby steps here

I will be doing this for sure, because come summer I live on the surface of the sun. Need some air flow!

It's 40's and sunny here today, the best running weather. I'm so bummed I won't be able to run outside. Instead I'll be doing a 45 minute interval run. Bleh.

I got roller skates so I could skate with my D. I just need the snow to melt first! I keep seeing this as the preview pic and it makes me want a pair so bad! But then I bit it this weekend while walking and my knee is a nice shade of black and I’m like I’d probably need all of the pads and that sounds less fun 🤪 I tripped fell flat on my face a few weeks ago while walking the dog in my neighborhood. It was soooo embarrassing and I ripped my workout leggings and skinned my knee to boot. So basically, we can wear knee pads together and start a trend. 🤣

For only doing 14 min and breathing hard, I don't know how my heart rate wasn't much higher. Does it matter how tight the watch is to your wrist? Anyway, rowing ✓

I did Leanne's 20 min 60's ride this morning and it may be my favorite yet! The music just made me so happy, 10/10 do recommend.

Well I got a late jump on my workout, so 2.5 miles to a 20 minute intervals run and 20 minutes of yoga flow. Happy with that still.

*googles plantar fasciitis* Huh. I'm pretty sure I know this feeling. I have only been able to wear old lady shoes since my first pregnancy (dankso, birkenstocks, etc.). If you see a girl running around in sweat pants and socks with sandal birkenstocks this winter, it's me. I had it for an entire year after the birth of #2. I was having foot pain and got an x-ray where they found a bone spur. Apparently my treadmill had eaten away at my shoes and I didn't realize it until it was too late. The pain was SO BAD, I couldn't run for that year. I still make it a point to always stretch my foot for fear of it returning.

I went to the gym last night for the first time since March 13 2020. It was weird. There was a line to get in because they are strictly enforcing the 25% limit. I just power walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes. It felt really good to go back though, I’m going to try and all this back in a couple times a week in addition to at home workouts.

My eating has been...not great this week. But at least I've been getting my step goal each day! We went to the zoo today so I hit by goal by 10AM.
As long as I continue to meet the step goal the majority of the week, I'll continue upping the ante by 1000 steps every week or two. Hopefully those baby steps will help in some way!

So I took three straight days off my bike for the first time since I got it. Then I realized that tonight during my only workout time I have a Zoom with friends.
But I’ve been eating pretty healthy, and I realized that the dry skin on the back of my thighs from riding is not itchy and painful for the first time in ages. I’ve tried so many things to heal it, but I haven’t tried a break, so maybe this isn’t a bad thing. Maybe it just needs to fully heal and then it won’t be so bad going forward 🤞 I know it’s a cold, dry air thing because it wasn’t an issue in the Fall, and things are starting to get a bit more warm and humid. So I’ll get back on tomorrow and not worry about what I’ve missed.

I have a mental block with respect to running. I'm doing a transitional plan designed to get me from a 5k to a 10k. I am dreading doing the next run which is two 20 minute intervals with a small walk break in between. I can do the four 10 minute intervals no problem, so I think this is a mental block. I'm avoiding them - I keep redoing the 4x10 interval.
Any ideas? Or do I just put on my big girl tights and do it? 🤦♀️

Build in another level between where you're comfortable and where you're heading.

I weighed myself for the first time in 6 weeks, which is a big change from weighing everyday with noom. I was nervous, but had been trying to eat conciously and make good decisions while being human, but not tracking. I was nervous I had put on 10 lbs (ha!) but I was actually even down a tiny smidge from my last weigh in. So that was encouraging. Just keep on doing what I’ve been doing 👏👏 (except I still regret some stress eating I did last night, but I had about 15k steps yesterday, so maybe I needed the pick me up)

I did Ally Love's 20 min country ride from 2/21 because I didn't have a ton of time during lunch today. For anyone who's thinking about doing it, she played "this is how we roll" by FGL and you added 2-5 in resistance every time they said "roll". My thighs. MY THIGHS. What the flippin flip! It was 20 mins but I went hard and I felt like dying after.
Because I hate myself, I'm going to do weighted paused squats to "bring sally up" later.

Started March off well with 5 miles of varying race pace intervals and 20 minutes of slow flow yoga. My food was perfect minus a cookie. A student who's family owns a cookie shop put a couple in my mailbox. I managed to only eat one, but I suspect the second won't last more than another day at most.
I need to quit ruining good weeks with shitty weekend eating. H is also trying to lose weight so I know if put my foot down he'll be grateful for not having our weekends sabotaged with bad eating as well.

I did so great ALL day and then right before my kid got home, I scarfed down a leftover stroopwafel. My self control is so bad right now. I'm starting a more anti-inflammatory "diet" but slowly - but maybe I need to just go cold turkey.

The amount of shamrock shakes and eating out I've been agreeing to on the weekends is undoing everything good I do the week prior and I then painstakingly spend all week trying to fix. I've been so bad.
