I'm finally back to running and higher intensity workouts after a very annoying calf injury around the first of the year. It feels great. I have concluded that the injury was due to some wicked plantar fasciitis so I'm getting new shoes and slippers and probably some braces. Oy.
I now wake up without the foot pain I was having.

I got some Vionic sandals and they are legitimately the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Now I want these slippers.

I need this so bad. I was doing well at the beginning of the year, but have fallen back off.
I was doing every other day workouts on my Nintendo Switch Ring Fit game, and it was really good for me mentally and physically. I need to do it more.
I am getting my physical today and so I'll hopefully get clearance to exercise more and feel more empowered to do so.

I have terrible PF and the beginning of a tailors bunion (which is uber painful). I have orthotics and I wear Haflinger slipper clogs at home. I might need to swap to orthotic type shoes though because some days I can barely move my foot at the end of the day. I'll have to check out if Vionic's are good for wide feet.

I signed up for beachbody on demand. I really liked 21 Day Fix to get back into a routine

I got roller skates so I could skate with my D. I just need the snow to melt first!

I have had a cup of coffee, a handful of m&ms, a roll of smarties, and have less than 2000 steps thus far today.
It's not going well.

Another vote for Vionics for those suffering with plantar fasciitis. I have Vionics flip flops that I love so so much. It took a little time to break them in but now they're basically a perfect mold (mould?) of my foot bed.

I work in a highly walkable part of a great city (cc: byjove Uncaripswife) and damn it I am really starting to miss my office. I grieved that last spring for real. Because I could go out and walk two miles every day at lunch and not get tired of looking at the same ugly suburban sidewalks.

Do you have any recs of ones you like? I like IBX Running and TreadChic Nike Run Club is good too. It's just audio through their NRC app. Before I started drinking the peloton Koolaid I would do those while watching MCU movies with subtitles. I love those to run to because there's so much visual appeal.

But I've had them nearly 3 years and they have lots of life left in them. ETA these are the ones I have: www.vionicshoes.com/high-tide-platform-sandal.html?76=20

You're totally right, and wearing cheap shoes probably contributed to my problems. I'm just not good at buying nice stuff for myself.

I ran today for the first time in a week because we were talking about it here! I’ll try again tomorrow but my struggle is that I am hungry in the morning and only think of eating. If I wait too long things get nuts here.

DH has been out most of the day and the girls are home, so I got some aerobic exercise by putting on kids bop, grabbing my hand weights, and dancing it out for half an or so.

I should go here. I can’t keep up with the bigger thread on GD, even though I want to participate.
I’ve primarily been a “couple-few miles, couple-few times a week” runner. It definitely kept me sane in the mess of 2020.
My core was wrecked by my second kid, and I put off doing anything about it until he turned 4 recently. (With the exception of a few PT sessions a couple years back, but they were OOP, so I quit.) I’ve subscribed to the Every Mother app and am a week in, and I really like it so far. I am doing the Reclaim program, which is aimed at healing diastasis recti and overall fitness. Mixing it with treadmill runs, lots of outdoor walking in the freezing cold, and occasional Peloton rides.
(ETA my main reasoning was that I’d feel guilty if I don’t do it, since I’m playing for it and I think it’s on the pricy side, and it’s working so far to motivate me!)
I got an (unsolicited) Apple Watch for Christmas and wasn’t sure what to do with it since I’m not a tech person at all, but the rings have been strangely motivating. Like last night I sat down to watch PBS at 9, and my movement ring wasn’t closed, so I got back up and put away all the clean laundry until it closed. LOL.

If I wait too long things get nuts here. I am that way in the morning. I usually gulp down half a banana and a giant spoonful of peanut butter before I run, or my brain spends the whole run whining about how I’m going to perish of hunger.

Bookshelves, I was really surprised how transformative the apple watch is! I had a fitbit like 8 years ago, and that lasted for a very short time, so I was skeptical. I've had my watch 7 months now with no plans to stop.

A combo of night braces, stability sneakers, supportive Vionic slippers, and a good stretching regimen worked wonders for me last time it struck.

I've had my watch 7 months now with no plans to stop. My BFF (who lives far away) linked our rings so that now she sends me high-five emojis when I close them or finish a workout, and vice versa. It’s like we’re back in high school gym class encouraging each other again. 😂

MH and I have this running gag about the olds in our lives only understanding about a 3rd of the functions of the tech devices in their lives, and that’s how I feel about the Watch so far. Haha

I have these Vionics! I’ll probably be buying a pair of their flip flops to wear as house shoes during the summer.
