I will also say that having teeth aligners has been great for kicking my snacking habit, and I probably won't start snacking much between meals again once I am done with them in a month. lol. But that is a very expensive way to stop snacking, so. .... I also currently have aligners, lol. (fixing a few very small gaps, so I did a 12 week/ 6 sets plan). They come off on the 8th, thank the baby Jesus. Unfortunately I also work at home, so I can brush my teeth approximately a million times a day. Mine come off the 11th! I'm so excited. It was a 4 month plan for me. I also WFH but I work in the basement and my toothbrush is upstairs and I'm lazy so I only take them off for lunch between breakfast and dinner. It seems not worth it for some cheezits or something. lol.

I specifically bought a cheap electric toothbrush, toothpaste, listerine and floss for our half bath next to my office so I could continue my snacking habit, LOL. My teeth are clean AF these days tho, hahaha.

willow What teeth aligner did you you use? I started using crest white strips recently. My bottom teeth are a little crooked and i'd love to fix them, but figured whitening was an easier step to a better smile.

Can I join in? I lurk threads here (and have learned a ton from you guys on this board!) and the GD motivation thread is a little overwhelming for me. Maybe this will even get me to post more in the other threads ;-)
I would like to be more active in general, and regularly carve out time in my day to move. My first goal was to hit 5,000 steps every day, which the past two weeks I've been able to do. I'm planning to up my goal to 6,000 steps per day, and then reassess in a couple weeks.
I have a home treadmill but not much else. Most of my steps comes from my work right now so weekends are my struggle, and I'll need to add in more structured activities to reach my new step goals.
Ultimately, I'd like to lose a good chunk of weight and improve some health stats in the process.

I use the app with my not peloton brand treadmill and love it. If you're looking for ideas.

I've never really been one to do "classes" on a treadmill, but i also dread walking on it since I get so bored typically. They offer free trials of the app, right?

They did take a bit to get used to, but once I did the strange feeling went away. Same with talking - I was talking like normal within about 2 days. Yes you sleep in them. You wear them for about 22 hours a day.

Usually one month free, but they might be running a two month special right now? They do have walking classes too. I never really did classes on the treadmill before either but I love them and am hooked at this point.

I had tiny gaps, and wanted to fill them, but my dentist highly pushed me to do an aligner instead. I’m supposed to be done in a few weeks, but it’s already dramatically different and a huge change from the metal braces I had as a teen.

I did noom from July through November last year and lost 25 lbs. It worked really well for me- I had put on 20 lbs since my eye surgery due to covid stress and stopping breastfeeding. I also got an apple watch, which has been much more effective in keeping me active than I ever would have thought. I go for a daily 2 mile walk (hills have been great for the legs) and just try to be active- like I no longer try to minimize trips up and down the stairs etc. I avg about 10K-12k steps a day. I feel so much better than I did a year ago.
Hugs to all struggling ❤️❤️

The only thing I dont love is that sometimes I have to file down the aligners if the cut is a bit too sharp on the edges that hit my tongue or cheek because otherwise I get sores. But it’s totally worth it!

letsgetphysio I definitely recommend trying the Peloton app with their free trial. I signed up at Covid start and got three months free. I am/was not a runner but the 20 minute classes helped me get into a rhythm. I haven’t tried the walking classes but I bet they are good too. On the running ones I usually would fast walk for their jog speed if I was feeling out of it. I’m off the app now because the trial ended. Now I do a lot of listening type games with my own playlists, but I got into it because Jess Sims made the running fun. I play with speed and incline through a song then take the first thirty seconds of the next song to walk and chill my heartrate.

My goal right now consists of hitting 6,000 steps / day. It sounds pitifully small, but I literally go nowhere. Other goal is to drink 30oz of fluid daily. I rarely get near 6k. 5k is a good day, eek this has been me and it’s frustrating. Working in the office I had access to a treadmill and easily hit between 7-8000 a day. Now I struggle for 5000.

I did a 20 minute 2000s Pop ride with Alex T. Made me realize I don't actually know 2000s pop and I felt very old white lady. Also, he was heated about people ditching toxic things out of their lives.

Hi! I was doing decent at the beginning of covid and then gave up on September and got up to my highest weight (again) by December. So I started working out and eating better the day after Christmas. I’m doing bikini body mommy 8.0 and hating it (lol). I just needed something that was 20 minutes so I couldn’t talk myself out of it. I also decided to do the Yoga with Adrienne 30 day challenge at the beginning of the year. The yoga had been amazing. It’s exactly what I needed. I’ve lost about 9 pounds but my body feels so much better - I don’t know how to even describe it. leaner I guess, but just more comfortable. I normally do not feel very comfortable at the weight I am now, but I feel good right now. Anyways, I kept going and am just doing her free monthly calendar for feb. some days are short (today was 7 minutes) and some days are fuller practices but getting on the mat every day is just perfect for me. And I just heard a local studio is going to start outdoor classes again so I’m going to try to do that for a change of pace.
I’ve started doubling up on the BBM just to finish it earlier. Which I guess is a win win. I initially planned to do 10.0 when I finished but now I’m absolutely not doing that. I am scouting for something else I can do at home and will probably do someone like Sydney Cummings or one of the other YouTube video people. I’d like to get back into running on the cardio days and just do videos for strength.
For food I’m just planning more trying to keep my protein up so I don’t snack so much. I’m also increasing my water and tea. The biggest change I made is that I’m making four days of lunch on Sunday and eating that. I had gotten into a really bad habit of eating snacks for lunch at the end of last year.

For people who do rides on the peleton app- is it only for spin bikes? Mh has a trainer for road cycling and i wondered if i could use that with the app.

I stick to low impact rides because standing on the trainer isn't my favorite. But it does work, especially if you already have a speed and cadence sensor or power meter.

I'm finally back to running and higher intensity workouts after a very annoying calf injury around the first of the year. It feels great. I have concluded that the injury was due to some wicked plantar fasciitis so I'm getting new shoes and slippers and probably some braces. Oy.

I typically watch Broadway shows so I have both the visual and music aspects to zone into, but I find that's not working as well as it used to. I'll have to take a look at Youtube and see the class options!

Another Peloton user here. I failed miserably last year so I’m trying to get back into it. I joined WW and we’re redoing our home gym to help motivate us. It’s in an unfinished basement so we added some outlets and new lights for now. I unfortunately gained all of the weight I had lost in 2019 back so I have a good chunk to lose. Right now I do the spin bike, use weights, and I’m waiting for our treadmill to be delivered (another month to wait).
