C is 5 months old today!
We've got lots of doctor appointments this week. My older two are going to their allergist this afternoon, then I've got an appointment for myself early tomorrow morning, then the middle and baby go to the pediatrician in the afternoon.
I was also on a wait list for a therapist and I've got a virtual appointment with someone next week. I feel like my anxiety/obsessive thoughts are ramping up lately despite being on medication. I'd love to start feeling like myself again.
We don't really have Valentine's Day plans but I'm going to do a tea party with strawberries and whipped cream in the afternoon for the kids. I'll try to make something nice for dinner and dessert.

No Valentine's day plans here. That, my birthday, mother's day, and anniversary are all a domino of holidays for H and he's always burnt on what to gift me by the end of it all. I had him order me a peloton bike to cover all four, so hopefully I'll just be working out, lol.
T is also five months. It's going so fast, unreal.

We had some interesting news at the allergist... Both kids were allergic to peanuts, cashews, and pistachios. Now my oldest seems to have outgrown the cashew/pistachio allergy, and my daughter outgrew the peanut allergy. Too bad they didn't outgrow the same ones!
It needs to be confirmed with a blood test but I really wasn't expecting that!

mintyblueair that's great news! My exciting news is I got picked in the state's pilot vaccine lottery for educators so I get the Moderna vaccine tomorrow! I'm so excited. I go in every classroom in our school and I'll feel so much better after this. Also my girls have already hand made Valentine's for their entire classes, 2 weeks before the parties. π

DD is still allergic to peanuts and DS is still allergic to cashew/pistachio. I should really get this straight π€¦ββοΈ Not looking forward to taking them for their blood work π¬

I took C to the pediatrician about her swollen lymph nodes and the doctor wasn't worried. She said it's probably just due to lingering cradle cap and she's going to follow up with her in 2 months. In the meantime we're supposed to oil her head every day to try to clear it up.

Also I have questions about oil for cradle cap, H is my first baby with it. What kind of oil? Do you just rub it in? Brush it?

She recommended mineral oil/basic baby oil but we had tried olive oil once at home and thought it worked well. Just rub it into the scalp in the bath or before bath, let it soak in for several minutes, then brush, then rinse. She said you can use a tiny bit of shampoo to wash it out. We just used water to rinse it tonight so she's going to wake up with wet-looking hair haha.

We used a really fine toothed comb to brush it, and so much dead skin came off πΆ

They're only a few dollars.

I forgot my damn pump parts again today. I just ran to Target and bought a back up set to keep in my desk. Over it.

I have a canvas bag that I throw everything into when Iβm getting ready in the morning and when I pick them up from daycare. I leave it in Js cubby and they put her bottles back into it. Seriously makes it easier and I can throw misc artwork into it. Also as of today Iβm permanently WFH so no pump room π

rooskie are you happy to be work from home? I'm an introvert but after being at home this long I'm really enjoying going into work. I'm not sure I would enjoy work from home anymore! Here's my pile every morning. I use a huge Ikea bag to transfer most of the stuff back and forth.

I also spend a lot of time on the phone vs in person and if I get antsy I can go to my plant. I have two groups of girl friends and I told H as long as I get girls nights post pandemic Iβll be fine. Heβs obliging because we are saving $$ with me home too.

rooskie glad you're happy with it! Your post also makes me miss my girl friends in Iowa. I have some college friends here in MN but just don't feel like I have a group yet.

Oh also, Hattie's two bottom teeth came through a few days ago. Earlier than the other two. I looked and the first tooth for both of them was at 6 months. (She's 5 months Monday).

Itβs so hard to make adult friends. Before I had DS I took some knitting classes and got hooked up (pun intended) with a local stitch n bitch who are some of my closest friends now.

In Iowa I joined a Mom's group through Meetup who ended up being great friends, but I only worked 3 days a week so could go to meet ups. Now that I'm full time it makes those groups a lot harder to join.

I really miss having friends lol. We moved to a new province about 1.5 years ago and I made one friend, but her house is a good 30 to 40 minute drive away and with covid we haven't seen each other since September. And she's not totally my type haha, but better than nothing!
I had actually just started going to a playgroup in my neighborhood a year ago and met a mom there that I really liked, but I didn't get her number and the next week it was cancelled (and still is) π

DD1 got her first tooth at 5 months. DD2 got her first one at one year. She was walking before she got a tooth. No sign of teeth in little dude yet.

I had my group of long time friends back in Syracuse. And I had my Baby Boot Camp mom friend group. Then we moved last summer and I don't really have any friends. Two of my closest friends from college do live out here too (one the next town over and one a few miles from the school I teach at) but I haven't really gotten to see them because of its been a pandemic for like 3/4 of the time we've lived here. It stinks.
I am going out after school this Friday for drinks with a few teacher friends. I'm so excited!

I left my whole damn pump, milk and all, at work one evening a couple weeks after I started back to work lol. Luckily I was able to get back in the building that night.

I donβt really know when to expect teeth from DD2. My first and third babies cut their first teeth around 9 months, but my second didnβt get teeth until 15 1/2 months. π€·ββοΈ My first didnβt get his first tooth until 15 months (after we stopped nursing) either. I'm hoping I get this lucky with this one too π

We usually have two wake ups; one around midnight or so and one around 4am. Except the last three nights he's been up A LOT more. The only I wasn't up with him in some capacity last night was 4am,and the wake up rapage started at 10:30. I'm dying.
