A little off topic, but I’ve been watching Season 6 of Australia and just caught up on episodes 3 and 4. I like how they move couple by couple in the beginning and cut out a lot of the nonsense pre-wedding that the US version includes.
However, I was pretty shocked that they choose to match people who have children. It seems like a gamble with too many ramifications for everyone involved.

I've thought the exact same thing in regards to the kids. They have to be away from their kids for like 6-8 weeks (I cant remember the exact duraction). The lady with the 3 kids just became a grandma at 35, but I think she looks way older and was 32 during filming.

Another fun fact about the Australia one is that they're not technically married at first sight because Australia has a one month one day petition you have to file for before legally getting married. That's why it's so much easier for them to peace out.

I haven't watched the Australian version yet, but I've always assumed that it was a pre req that applicants not have children or had been married before (this seems to not be the case since Erik was married previously). It seems like it would just make everything much more difficult and I don't think I could ever marry someone without seeing them first interact with my children.

I've also wondered if they're limited in locations in the US based on the marriage license requirements. They've never done the west coast, and I know here in WA you have to get your marriage license in person with both people present at least 3 days before the wedding.

And it's not just the time away for filming, but that guy has no idea his new wife already has 3 kids. What if he's not a good fit with the kids once they finally meet, or he realizes it doesn't work for him, etc. I realize they can get divorced, there's not NO way out, but it feels like there will be so much more pressure to stay together than if they were just dating and found out it wasn't a good match.

The episode tonight...yikes on so many levels.
Haley is being a mean girl to her husband. That makes me sad for him.
Chris continues to talk out of both sides of his mouth. Run Paige, run!
The dinner table confrontation made me feel very uncomfortable. Chris is a dick, no doubt, but I didn’t like the way Erik/Virginia approached him. It was not a good look.

I was cringing during the entire confrontation with Virginia and Chris, and then Erik and Chris. Virginia was so combative, and Erik doubling down made it so much worse. Don't make me empathize with Chris, people!

Chris is gaslighting Paige so much. He says all the right things and then contradicts himself.
I’m also not into the drama between the couples. I’d rather focus on the couples.
Haley made me so mad this episode. Not telling him about meeting the other couples. Not ok.
I think Virginia and Erik are going to clash when they get back to real life. She still wants to live the single girl party life.

Haley purposefully went to a group dinner without her husband. How do you go forward with that knowing your partner didn't want you to be around even with 9 other buffers?? Please Chris... learn to enunciate! But in any case, how did you expect Paige to respond when you tell her you've talked to your ex about possibly getting back together??! Especially after telling Paige she will always be your #1 priority? And that mess of a dinner. If Erik and Virginia showed up on time, it probably would have turned out completely different. EandV came in way hot and it seemed like they were ready for a fight. Earlier in the episode, Virginia said her brothers and father would have fought for her and I wonder if she riled Erik up to get that defensive protection she's used to.

Anyone watch last night?
Chris is that guy who treats you like garbage, ignores you, but then says something sweet once in a blue moon to keep you hanging on. He’s such a player. And as much as I sympathize with Paige I’m starting to get frustrated with her. Sometimes she acts like she doesn’t have any control. She can totally tell him to fuck off and die and she should!
Is anyone else confused by Haley and Jake? Who are we supposed to believe? Was it really just a girls’ night or did she ditch him to hang out with everyone else and then run away when caught? Surely there’s footage... Either way, they have no chance in hell. She is 100% not into him and she’s not going to try.
I’m not sure what to think about Vincent and Briana. I feel like they really work most of the time but communication issues keep coming up. I can sort of relate to both of them. I could see how Briana’s comments could be construed as digs but I could also see how Vincent might be over-sensitive. I’m also wondering if this “respect” he keeps asking for is related to machismo.

I completely agree on all points. Vincent seems to keep in his feelings til he's ready to explode and by that time, Briana doesn't remember what she said and how she said it. If what she says bothers you, say it right then so everyone knows what's going on. I don't really have a good feeling about any couple this time. I mean maybe Clara and what's his face? But she seems like a lot so who knows. When Chris makes ex fiance and Paige meet, why did I automatically think he wants to throuple them? ETA- and Haley's hang up on Jake's 80s stuff. Jake only seems to be his 80s stuff sooooo....

I agree with everything here. I said to my H that I am hoping Paige’s uncertainty is purely fueled by her desire to see the show’s contract through. I’m not fully convinced though based on the fact that she kept having sex with him and that she does seem to want him to be into her. I really don’t know what truly happened with the Haley and Jake thing, but I do think she is going to hold onto that as her excuse for checking out of the marriage. She has zero interest in him and I don’t see that changing. I think Virginia and Erik are going to fall apart too. She is so tied to her independent life and while I think he has some valid points about the fact that they’re married now, he’s a little too jealous. I’ll be surprised if they make it.

It’s completely nonsensical.

I agree with all of you. Haley hasn't been into Jake at all from the beginning. I don't even know why the experts thought they would work. She also doesn't seem to be fit for anyone honestly and her friends agreed that first episode. (That was her right?)
Also Paige so badly wants Chris to be into her and will do anything to make that happen. I don't get why because he isn't a catch, but I also get it since she is on the younger side.

I'm finally watching now.
Haley & Jacob: i don't really know what is going on with them. I think it's clear she's not into him and I don't think it's going to last, but we'll see how it goes. Also, very disappointed that we didn't get to see his awesome pool and beach backyard!
Vincent & Brianna: these two have very different ways of communicating and I hope they can figure out how to navigate that. I'm thinking Vincent had been bottling up some feelings and they just kind of exploded. And I really feel like that argument they were having wasn't even that serious that he needed to leave the apartment. But, I'm big on speaking my feelings when I feel them (or as soon as appropriate if that's not possible).
Clara & Ryan: I think these 2 probably have the best chances. I did enjoy seeing Ryan's place and how unorganized he was under the surface. I was surprised that they hadn't had sex yet, I thought Clara and basically implied that they had on the last episode.
Erik & Virginia: It seems Erik isn't the best at choosing his words, but I found nothing wrong with what he said. I think it's common courtesy to check in with your SO before making plans. Not necessarily asking permission, but just a "hey, this thing came up and I want to go. That cool?" I also do not think it's acceptable to regularly pass out on friends couches when you're married. However, Erik's constant reminding that he's been in serious long term relationships before would get on my nerves quickly. It sounds very preachy to me and I'm interested to see how VA responds to that.
Chris & Paige: lord have mercy. I don't even fucking know. I am confused on when Chris went to Chicago. They showed Paige and Chris on the plane talking about going back to ATL. Did they land and he was like, alright imma bounce to Chicago real quick, I'll see you in a few days!" And also how is he able to tell production that they can't film him talking to Paige?? Season 10s Brandon tried to get 10 mins alone and they would absolutely not allow it. I did enjoy seeing the feisty side of Paige, but she needs to show that side to Chris. Final thoughts, Chris looked ridiculous in those ripped jeans, and that smirk makes me want to throw things at my TV.

And yes, Chris has a very punchable face!!!

My thoughts aside from being disappointed about not seeing Jakes pool and home gym.
Hailey and Jake: She’s just not that interested. They’ll drag this out because of contracts. That’s my guess.
Erik and Virginia: maybe they’ll work? I think they genuinely like each other. I think she just has some growing up to do. If he’s willing to work with that, then it could work.
Vincent and Brianna: I agree with the above. I think he let things bottle up and he just exploded. I think if they can figure out how to communicate, it could work! I still love them!
Paige and Chris—I can’t. She needs to end it now. I wanted to throw something at the tv after he started whispering to her. He’s gaslighting her! One minute it is over and the next he’s all like I think I could fall in love with you. 🤦♀️🤦♀️

This was a great episode. My absolute FAVORITE part was Chris thinking he'd cause drama/fighting between the women and instead they both put him in his place. I fully believe Paige is done now, any interactions moving forward will be to follow through with their contracts.

I haven't watched tonight's episode yet (weather coast + no cable) but I have some Reddit spoilers re: Chris if you're interested. Yes please! Let me figure out how to do spoilers! Chris and the ex fiance were spotted in Cancun a couple weeks ago. The fiance did not look remotely pregnant (and I believe she was said to be drinking). Chris was wearing a suit and was taking pictures with people. There were pictures posted on the Reddit thread.

Paige/Chris-I loved that the two women basically supported each other and left him out. I’m so glad Paige is done!
Clara/Ryan—I feel like we barely saw them.
Erik/Virginia-I love their dogs. Lol. I especially liked when they showed Virginia’s dog licking Erik’s dog. Ha! Back to the people. She seemed stand offish when she got back from her trip. It felt like she came back irritated.
Brianna/Vincent-Love them!
Hailey/Jake-There’s just no chemistry.
