Talking about Kamala makes me miss CA so much. She was on my radar for a long time and I was super bummed she wasn't going to be the candidate. DD(8) and I will be celebrating the first female VP though!
And now I'm looking to see if there are any good Indian places around us for Wed dinner...

With the caveat that I'm a vegetarian, my go tos at most places: - kadai paneer - garlic naan - veg samosas - veg biryani And if anyone is ever in Asheville, you should go to Chai Pani. They focus on Indian street food. Thank you for the vegetarian list! I’m pretty sure this tumor is affecting my sense of smell and taste. It’s been gradual, but I went from smelling bad smells that weren’t there, barely smelling anything, and other weird things, and meat is one of the worst things right now (it’s called cacosmia, parosmia, and phantosmia, if you feel like googling lol). All of it smells bad when it cooks, so I quickly switched to vegetarian 😂 I also really love Mattar paneer. It's that same fresh cheese mixed with peas in a tomato based sauce. Also a good one for kids as it's not spicy. |

I've had a recurring thought about Kamala over the last few months and this seems like the perfect place to put it.
I love her voice. She has this kind of velvety tone that's confident and reassuring.
*I did not follow Kamala or know much about her until her 2020 campaign.

We're having Indian food and Jamaican food on Wednesday too 🤣 Dozens of us! eta: the ice cream we are having is in honor of my pop pop Joe 😁 The kids want cake so I'm going to make chocolate chip cake (in honor of Pop Pop's favorite ice cream flavor) with cardamom chai buttercream (for Kamala, bc IDK what kind of ice cream she likes) |

We are having chicken tikka masala for dinner on Wednesday, followed by ice cream for dessert. I would like to try more Indian food once we are able to dine out safely again. Most of my Indian food experience is buffets. We tend to stick with Vietnamese and Chinese food since that is what we know, but we need to branch out. And I need to branch out and have more Vietnamese! One place opened near us during the pandemic but we haven't been yet. Ohhhh yeah you do. We recently found a tiny little Vietnamese place that delivers and they have amazing food and it's really affordable. |

All the Buckhead talk is bringing me back...a couple decades. My HS BF went to Kennesaw and I would drive through the night for a long weekend of partying there and we would always do a night in Buckhead. 🤣 Since I've already aged myself, we would go to Have a Nice Day Cafe (or whatever it was called 🤣) and Bar. I have a vague recollection of rolling out of a Yellow cab into Have a Nice Day Cafe on my 21st bday🍾🤢 |

One of the moments I remember most was the time there were a bunch of dudes in kilts there and I asked if the rumor was true, and one said "Look and find out". I looked and found out. 🤣😳 |

Here’s my picture from way back in the crowd watching then Senator Harris kick off her campaign in Oakland on 1/27/19. I’ll never forget that day. I thought it would be an average sized crowd and it was absolutely mobbed and people were so amped. That’s when I knew she was going places.  |
